  1. 7pm, but the Sox will announce sometime this afternoon. Probably before 4.
  2. A lot of out-of-town ignorance there, but I agree with Sherman’s overall theme of trying to get deeper. It’s time to at least crack 81-81 and be positioned for sustained playoff appearances in 2021-25.
  3. Buh bye. An all-star pitcher whose career is done.
  4. Roster moves coming Wednesday. Sox are at 33 now with Abreu back on. Good primer to read. Some obvious additions coming, but there could be some moves in baseball the next couple days for teams with tougher decisions.
  5. Dumb tweet. Obviously he meant MVP, so maybe he’s been drinking. Personal nod votes at the end of a 10-man ballot are common place. That’s why there’s two voters from each city...or at least they try to do that. Should have let this one go, Phil. Fegan was the only voter to leave LeMahieu off his top 10 though, which is kinda weird.
  6. AL MVP- Mike Trout (17 1sts) NL MVP- Cody Bellinger
  7. Unfortunately, Cole or Strasburg isn’t going to happen. Maybe Giolito is our perennial ace- time will tell. Kopech, Cease have ace potential- again, time will tell. Basically, the Sox are on their own until they crack 81-81, then they might be able to persuade a whale to join the party.
  8. He’ll get at least the QO amount. Maybe he just says Yes today, and they continue to talk about a 2-3 yr deal. 2 yrs for 36 would be what I would expect from the Sox.
  9. Players with the QO have until 4 central tomorrow.
  10. AL Cy Young- Justin Verlander NL Cy Young- Jacob deGrom 2nd for both
  11. AL ROY- Yordan Alvarez NL ROY- Pete Alonso AL Manager- Rocco Baldelli NL Manager- Mike Shildt
  12. Eloy finished 4th Four 2nd place votes, eight 3rds
  13. Top 3’s were announced tonight. Marcus Semien is finishing 3rd in the AL MVP.
  14. Announcement, Sunday, Dec 8 Dwight Evans, Steve Garvey, Tommy John, Don Mattingly, Marvin Miller, Thurman Munson, Dale Murphy, Dave Parker, Ted Simmons and Lou Whitaker As we’ve seen in the recent past, it mostly depends on the 16 people voting. If I had to pick two that deserve it, I’d go Mattingly and Murphy. The rest, I’d have no issue if they get in. Ted Simmons is every bit as good as Gary Carter.
  15. Pathetic the Sox tweeted a thank you to that cheater. Bye, Welington. Yes, that's how you spell his name. Last time.
  16. Yep, who knew the 97 Sox had two champion managers, and Ventura. Bevington, such a mentor.
  17. Dan Jennings is getting a ring too.
  18. Nice job by Corbin (a little help too)
  19. I’m an AL guy, but we just saw the Astros win two years ago, and the Nationals/Expos have never won in their 50 years. Then you also have some of the off the field stuff with the Astros that’s hard to root for. And you also have the joy of the Nats winning the year after Bryce Harper turned down a very good offer from a very good organization that’s been trying to win.
  20. Last night was better, but there hasn’t been back and forth in these games. Once a team gets a lead, they’ve been keeping it. This World Series will be remembered for the road team winning at least the first 6 games. We’ll see if it goes to 7, which would be cool. Need Scherzer to go at least 5.
