QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 25, 2017 -> 10:38 AM) I'll just be relieved when the season draws to a close. I don't care much for this tension. Ha. We're really sweating over some first world problems here aren't we? All for fun.
-
Let's just lose tonight and be 3 clear of the Reds with 6 left, instead of 2. The Angels getting to Chicago in the wee hours and being close to elimination doesn't encourage me however.
-
Rockies up 2 on the Brewers, and 2.5 on the Cardinals. This week is shaping up to be drama free. Bad for baseball. Eliminate divisions.

Sunday: Won- Phillies, White Sox, Pirates, A's Lost- Giants, Tigers, Reds, Mets, Padres, Braves 7 days left Team (Games left) - Sox Magic Number to have higher pick: 1. Giants (6) - 9 2. Phillies (6) - 9 3. Tigers (6) - 8 4. White Sox (7) 5. Reds (6) - 5 (+2.5 GA) 6. Mets (7) - 4 7. Padres (6) - 1 8. Braves (8) - 1 9. Pirates (6) 10. Here's remote...the Sox fall to 6th. Sox 5-2 Reds 2-4 Mets 1-6

QUOTE (Chisoxmb35 @ Sep 24, 2017 -> 05:35 PM) No, it's a remote possibility. What's with the glass is half empty thing? Just words. Remote/decent. Whatever. The math is the math. The Sox have a 4-3 week, and the Reds go 1-5, they have a higher pick. Not likely, but a possibility that isn't out of the question. I'm optimistic the Sox hang on to 4th. Happy?
-
If the Sox win tomorrow, they'll be two ahead of the Reds with six left. They go to Milwaukee and Wrigley to finish. Dropping to 5th is still a decent possibility.
-
Agreed, and I hope all the teams on the left win. If the Yankees, Red Sox, and Cubs make the LCS, I'll have no interest unless Sale and Quintana faced each other in a WS game...and even then, maybe won't watch.
-
It sucks the Angels will be coming to town pretty much out of it, and there's a good chance the Indians will have AL homefield advantage wrapped up by next Saturday. They're still close to the Dodgers for WS homefield. 4th pick is fine though.
-
Well, the Twins and Yankees will be playing a week from Tuesday night. Winner will play the 1 seed. AL 1-Seed: Cle - Hou 1.5 Indians hold the tie-breaker, so really 2.5 MLB 1-Seed: LA - Cle 1 Hou 2.5 NL WC2: Col - Mil 1 Stl 1.5 That's all that's left up in the air for the postseason.

It's almost like blowing two saves in the same game.

Friday: Won- White Sox, Mets, Braves, A's Lost- Giants, Phillies, Tigers, Reds, Padres, Pirates 9 days left Team (Games left) - Sox Magic Number to have higher pick: 1. Giants(8) - 11 (-2.5 GB) 2. The Twins have a 3.5 game lead on the Angels and Rangers. Their Magic Number is 6, and they have five games left with the Tigers. Only 5 AL teams are over .500.
-
Indians lost. Astros 1.5 behind for AL HFA.

QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ Sep 22, 2017 -> 11:18 PM) It's over man. The Sox can't seem to do anything right these days. This win sucked because Yoan had the bomb but our youth of the future wasn't the big part of it. If they don't get at least a top two pick this season is a failure. No reason to be winning so many useless games when other teams are tanking hard. I agree it's over in regards to top 3, but 4th isn't a failure. Starting the season 15-12 got them Rutherford and a couple other guys. And then they actually did go out and play a month at 4-23. That stretch is still netting a very high pick.
-
Sox and Reds have 17 combined games. 6 have to be Sox losses or Reds wins for the Sox to get the 4th pick. That better happen.
-
Sox go from 2nd to 4th in 48 hours.
-
The Tigers are getting a top 2 pick. I have no doubt about that.
-
Tough call, but if they didn't envision him being part of the team they are trying to create, they need to be open to trading Garcia (and Abreu). I don't know what his value is out there with other teams, but they obviously need to listen this offseason. And of course, do not extend him now. That's the last thing they should do.

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Sep 22, 2017 -> 01:03 PM) It would be helpful for the Giants, Phillies, and Tigers to all go 5-4 in their last 9. Then the #1 pick would only require 4-6. If the Sox go 4-6, I will have no complaints about their pick position. It's just too bad the Tigers have a terrible roster and they've given up--including Ausmus.
-
It would be so White Sox if they go 6-4 and the Reds go 1-8...and the Sox drop to 5th.
