  1. Something will be announced at the Cell next Tuesday. Care to speculate?
  2. I'd like to see a bit of a 6-man rotation in April while Danks is away. Maybe Santiago can get a few starts in that 20-day stretch if they don't get rained out. My hope is Sale, Peavy, and Floyd can make 18 starts before the break, and 14 starts after the break.
  3. Cool https://twitter.com/MDGonzales/status/31732...6282625/photo/1
  4. ^ I agree with that. Basically, they need to keep Danks in Arizona until he's throwing at his normal velocity. Then send him to Charlotte until he can throw a quality start. They'll know it when they see it from him. I'm not worried about the Sox rushing him back.
  5. QUOTE (floridafan @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 12:35 PM) Just curious since Grabe is playing 2B with the AAA club yesterday and today. They indicated the AAA 2Baseman was with the Big Club. May be Drew Garcia they were referring to.
  6. QUOTE (floridafan @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 12:20 PM) Is Carlos Sanchez still playing with the Big Club? No. He's going to Charlotte. The team flew to Chicago last night, and he's not one of the minor leaguers they brought for the Milwaukee games.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 12:12 PM) All I see is the magic red X, but he has been posting pics of the new additions to US Cellular food all day long I know the Sox have to do what they have to do to attract customers, but I find it kinda sad that food has to be a selling point to go to a baseball game. But that's just me.
  8. Interesting Rondon didn't make it. Hopefully the Tigers start off slow again and give away some games with their defense. But with a solid starting staff--Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, Sanchez, Porcello, (Smyly in the wings)---that's tough to beat.
  9. Walk off walk for Tolleson. And now he'll be sent to the minors.
  10. Alexei day-to-day. Right shoulder contusion.
  11. No update on Alexei. I'm going to assume no news is good news.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 03:46 PM) Careful there - look at his peripherals. He's done well, but having more walks than K's isn't sustainable with a low ERA for long. He's been good keeping the hits at bay though. I'll see your peripherals, and raise you a sample size. The K/BB was good last year for Omo. He seems to know what he's doing out there. I have a feeling Crain will avoid the DL now, but he'll get there eventually and Omogrosso will be the first guy up.
  13. With the way Omogrosso pitched this spring, I kinda want Crain to get lit up here, and go on the DL.
  14. Alexei got hit the shoulder. Left the game. Wonderful.
  15. Tim McCarver leaving Fox after 2013. Bout time.
  16. Santiago will start Friday night in Milwaukee. Floyd and Axelrod will pitch Saturday. It will be interesting to see if they give some starts to Santiago. A 20-day stretch in April without an off day and Danks not ready, I wouldn't mind if they go 6-man during that time and see if Santiago pitches his way into the rotation.
  17. Last one...A .500 Cactus League is on the line today. Huge game. http://baseballpress.com/lineup.php
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 09:25 AM) So tell me... When does John Danks take the bump for the White Sox for the first time this season? I'll answer my own question...I hope May 3rd, and he's still able to make 27 starts this season.
  19. So tell me... When does John Danks take the bump for the White Sox for the first time this season?
  20. It's going to be a cold first week of baseball. Just hope they get all the games in and come away with at least four wins. With the new schedule being only one series home and away against the other two divisions and more interleague play, this could be the year of the makeup game. http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/chicago-i...?monyr=4/1/2013
  21. Axelrod officially named 5th starter. He'll start vs Felix Hernandez on April 6th.
  22. I'm really liking what I've seen from Viciedo this spring. He seems more closed and waiting on the ball longer. The leg kick may have done the trick. http://www.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?c_id=cws...0130326_6668724
  23. Hawk and Steve praising the coaching staff--ok, great. How are we getting that 89th win this year?
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) Not worried, just curious what the thought process is, on how they decide these things. Since they can use minor leaguers in games anyway, and there are players who already know they won't make it barring injury... why the theater? Why bother announcing reassignments at all? Yeah, I'm not sure what goes into that. Like, why did they option Jordan Danks and Blake Tekotte at the same time, but they've brought Brandon Short and Stefan Gartrell up from minor league since then? Don't know.
  25. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) I don't get keeping Tolleson and Bell in camp, they aren't getting jobs for OD. Anderson I get, they always keep a 3rd catcher around in AZ. Omogrosso and Troncoso are in the running for Crain's spot if he isn't ready... but Gray? I wouldn't really read into too much. They'll probably be down to 27 or 28 by the time they get on the plane tomorrow.
