  1. RA Dickey gave up a 5-spot in the first inning...uh oh.
  2. Not a Sox guy, but the Rockies sent down their first pick from last year after one game, David Dahl. I just happened to check his twitter to see if he said anything...he missed a flight. Oops.
  3. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Apr 7, 2013 -> 12:01 PM) That you know Beckham's fiancee's name is Brittany is kinda creepy. No it's not. She was on the Amazing Race. She's public.
  4. QUOTE (floridafan @ Apr 7, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) Looks depressing to me So is your son staying back in Arizona until something opens up, and then short season again? Anything new there?
  5. ^ Brittany Fletcher is marrying her dad. Things just got creepy.

  7. Starting for Kannapolis on Monday. 6'7", 270 pound, 19-year-old. He may be the Sox most intriguing prospect.

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20130407 Castro, Snodgress, Beck, and Cose starting today.
  9. Despite the Sox old minor league system, Carlos Sanchez is the youngest player in the International League. He's off to a good start. Courtney Hawkins is the 3rd youngest player in the Carolina League. He's starting off slow, but probably trying too hard. I hope somebody just tells him that he's playing 130 games in Winston-Salem this year, and 130 games in Birmingham next year, and to just enjoy it. I could be completely wrong, but I think guys like Trout and Harper are probably getting in prospects heads now, making them think they can get to the big leagues a year or two out of high school.
  10. Jon Garland - 6 innings , 2 runs vs Padres
  11. That was really cool. That said, Justin is going to be a big fat fatty if he doesn't watch it.
  12. ...and Michael Young walks. Dominic Brown up. (k's on 3 pitches) Mayberry K's Frandsen shoots one into the Rf gap, score 3. Royals lose.
  13. Royals up 3-1 in the 9th. Holland walked Utley and Howard to start the inning. Probably caught a break. He had Utley struck out.
  14. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 6, 2013 -> 05:21 PM) His post game interview was kind of awkward. He's an intense guy. I think the thread about him being traded, I put an interview in there. It's worth a listen. I found it fast: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/?podcast_url=h...mp;dcid=CBS.CHI His dad could hit a little. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=gillas001mar Probably blocked by Alan Wiggins and Tony Gwynn. So Mark Gillaspie played with Ozzie and Mark Parent back in 83. Surprised he didn't make it up to the Cubs in 85.

Out of Mitchell, Walker, and Thompson making it to the bigs and being good, my money is on Walker.

Hawkins K's on 3 pitches. Radio guy made it sound like he's swinging out of his shoes, trying too hard.
  17. Noticed Gillaspie was wearing batting gloves his first AB. Lost them, and got two hits.
  18. QUOTE (Cali @ Apr 6, 2013 -> 04:32 PM) Re: Kepp.... I don't know if I ever recall a player who hit so well in ST, fall absolutely flat on his face when the bell rang. It's so jarring to see. Eric Hosmer, 2012.

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20130406 Charlotte doubleheader underway. Kannapolis is playing too.
  20. Great job by Axelrod. Maybe the start time and the wind was an equalizer. We'll take it.
  21. They would have played a doubleheader tomorrow anyway. Let's just get it over with and hope Axelrod has a good game.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2013 -> 10:30 AM) Wise is a much better CF than De Aza, I thin\k. I'll take your word for it.
  23. I find it a little strange Wise plays CF when Viciedo is off. I don't see Wise as a big jump up from De Aza in CF.
  24. Gonna go out on a limb and say Chris Davis will win AL Player of the Week. 16 RBIs in 4 games? Wow.
  25. For now, the weather looks good for Washington and Cleveland. Dry and upper 60's in Washington.
