  1. The thing with Viciedo that's frustrating, is that he hasn't shown that he's a good baseball player. He's got bat speed and incredible power, but he has no process at the plate.
  2. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 07:05 PM) without whom we'd have two more losses... it's early guys. seriously. Not necessarily, but ok.
  3. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 06:47 PM) You just said that flip sunglasses look uncool, so what exactly are the players supposed to do then? If they have two options: 1) Look decent with sunglasses resting on the brim or 2) wear s***ty flip sunglasses; which one do you think they'll choose? I don't think flip sunglasses look uncool. They do for some reason. I guess my beef is when a player loses the ball in the sun and their sunglasses are on top their hat. And I've seen it more than a few times.
  4. Danks homer. Sanchez on base twice. His OBP is right around .500 so far.
  5. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20130409 Hawkins nursing a quad.
  6. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 03:12 PM) White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper will miss Tuesday's game after he was hospitalized with diverticulitis. (Diverticulitis is small, bulging sacs or pouches of the inner lining of the intestine (diverticulosis) that become inflamed or infected. Most often, these pouches are in the large intestine (colon) I'd like to know how many drinks he had between getting on the plane and the end of the basketball game last night.
  7. Span 8, Werth 9, Harper 7, Zimmerman 5, LaRoche 3, Desmond 6, Espinosa 4, Ramos 2, Gonzalez 1 How long does it take Hawk to say, "Span killed us in that Twinkie uniform"?
  8. QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 01:42 PM) For me, it's hard to say because I believe in the butterfly effect in baseball. Just because he figured it out in Oakland, doesn't mean he would have figured it out in Chicago. Given the record pitchers have here, odds say he does, but you never really know. Good chance we don't have Sale now either.
  9. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 01:43 PM) Not really, it's better than them keeping the glasses on the top button of their shirt or something. It's functional for them to keep the glasses there, if the sun comes out while theyre in the field and they need the glasses, where else would they keep them? God forbid they wear flip sunglasses and look uncool.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:53 PM) This is not a guy I worry about offensively. But then again, I do not at all have the 2012 offense expectations for him. He can hit, and he will. Just saying, facing a lefty might not be a bad thing for him. Just hope Gio is off a little tonight.
  11. Nice catch... http://www.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_...0130409_7010984 Anyone else think sunglasses on top of the cap while playing is just the worst?
  12. Good time for Keppinger to get going offensively.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 12:08 PM) Per Rosenthal, Jered Weaver out 4-6 weeks with a broken left elbow From a Sox POV, I'll take 6 weeks.
  14. Back to this series- I just hope they play good defense, don't blow a lead after the 7th inning, and get out of there with a win before heading to Cleveland. I'll be happy with 5-5 road trip as long as they don't play like a bad team...with a bad defense and blowing saves.
  15. It's going to be warm in DC. Hope the Sox pitchers are on.
  16. Didn't make it out of the first inning.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 07:42 AM) They sent their top prospect back to Arizona and removed him from the a-ball roster after 1 game. There is zero chance it is simply because he "missed a flight". Has to have been more to it. Cool. Find out what else he did and get back to us.
  18. If they stick with the 5-man, the next 4 starts are: Peavy- Was, Cle, Min, Cle Floyd- Was, Tor, Min, TB Axelrod- Was, Tor, Min, TB Quintana-Cle, Tor, Cle, TB Sale- Cle, Tor, Cle, TB I can see why they want to give Q two starts against Cleveland. That TB order looks a little soft.
  19. Great to get the wins, but I hope they address the defensive lapses and lack of communication.
  20. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Apr 7, 2013 -> 03:53 PM) White Sox juggle rotation. Axelrod now starts Thursday night at Washington. Quintana to start Friday night at Cleveland -- Scot Gregor I think Quintana having success in Cleveland might have something to do with that. It may also set up Santiago starting Sunday, for an additional lefty against the Indians. Wouldn't surprise me if they go 6-man during this 20-day stretch without an off day. I hope they do it. edit: Now that I look at it, it'll probably be Quintana, Sale, Peavy in Cleveland. We'll see if they have 6-man intentions.
  21. 11 homers this week. That's what we do. Detroit has 3.
  22. In other news, the royals are trying to blow another one.
