  1. 3-6 at best. This the Orioles last year.... pre-firing of Trembley. Hopefully we hire a Showalter. *Edit - I'm out of my f***ing mind. 3-6? We've only won 2 games in the last 2 CALENDAR weeks. Ammended: 1-8.
  2. And two [sic] the naive... How many of the fewer spenders in the divison have a World Championship in those 10 years? I remember 04 and I REALLY remember what I felt about the 04 offseason going into 05. I thought we'd be dead last. El Caballo for Pods, Crazy Carl, a bunch of Yankee reject relief pitchers, Contreras, Loaiza gone....etc.... I was wrong as s***. Ozzie wasn't even an Ozzie, then. He only became one because of KW.
  3. Buddy Bell has been in charge what - 3 years? I really don't feel like we feature anything at the minors like other teams do. We have to rely on KW to do that. Like...McCarthy. KW knew he sucked, but he got the whole league to believe that straight meatball was awesome. Total ripoff job he pulled but not because Brandon was good..... Because KW was.
  4. Sure. I don't think many guys here would object to that at all. In fact, I'll just go ahead and say on behalf of "many guys here", let's kick some asses out.
  5. I'm not far off from you on KW either, but I have 0 faith in our ability to scout. Funny you mention both the Rays and Florida as a place to pilfer staff from, but they have invested HEAVILY in scouting to find talent and draft them (and they spend more $ on us too). Playing in the hotbed doesn't hurt either. They are also very good at identifying when they miss (see Hanley Ramirez, Annibal Sanchez, Kazmir (when he was good), etc.). There is nothing remotely close to that in our organization. We're talking...like WHOLESALE change needed here. KW is fine with ML deals. He needs an advisor for the minors, keeping them stocked, making those deals, and for god's sakes...spending some $. Well, my opinion anyway.
  6. Sweet post, C12. Some moves are not as cut and dry as you translate them but the point is there. We could be far less expensive and certainly no worse than...well, the worst in baseball. Gio...man, twice we had him and twice we gave up. I think I remember you from WSI days arguing (together) about how stupid it was to let him go (I think the...2nd time). I could be wrong though.
  7. I think your off by a factor of at least 4. The YES Network alone generates enough to cover the stupid baseball team. They could field a $200M team every year, be in dead last, and still be well in the black.
  8. We've covered this. KW makes the team, Ozzie is the day to day and is responsible for the work environment. There is no reason that the "team" as constructed shouldn't be better than anyone in this division...by far. But watch 'em show for work and report to the manager. They don't report to KW. They report to Ozzie. As he trots them out to s***ty out (bunts) after out (steals) after out (matchups) after fail. Oh, and slump for weeks on end because it's "not coaches fault players can't recover from slumps" at the "major league level". Fire f***ing Ozzie, already. Fire Cora. Fire Walker. It's goddamn obvious nobody wants to even show up for work and try. That's on him - we already know players are spoiled, crying babies. That's every team. Maddon, Francona...plenty others don't become the worst team in baseball over a few slumps and prolonged losing like his team does...baggage over rivals (Twins), bigger payroll then the next by more than double.... (And I'm not comparing to the Twin THIS year, but they still managed to revive them). f***ing joke. [Wow, that felt good]
  9. What is all this... All In... n'stuff. Go Sox! Right? It's cold. Still time? Not Ozzie's fault?
  10. Not changing anything, Tex. I watched at least 100-110 games in 07 also. I also kept watching in 04 after the injuries started, the HRs stopped, and the pitching died. I'm what you might say, "All In", except...like, consistent as advertised. Now, if Ozzie is fired - I might have to become a real fan and sacrifice the family cat, "Sox".
  11. I watch like a fiend and I don't think I EVER saw Santos get over 95 on the gun until this year.
  12. I really don't notice one...that jumped out anyway. Santos is down???? LOL...ok.
  13. What a team of p*****s. If Paulie were a real captain, he'd call all this s*** out. He won with AJ. I should have a profound line here but... read line #2. I hate this team right now.
  14. You know - even THE catch tonight shows he's slow. Nobody can be that bad reading a line heading foul and he barely caught it in fair territory against a right hander.... Something has to be wrong with him.
  15. According to chw42 in another thread - much of our team's suckitude can be explained by fan graphs and less than a 1mph difference in fastballs by Mark Buehrle and Matt Thornton. So you know - there's that to think about.
  16. Quit reading right there. You're right. Only in America.
  17. If you say so. Thanks. It can also be interpreted from watching the game. I saw Pierre's catch live; saved 2 runs. Stopped a potential rally. Guess he was due as well. *Edit - Thanks for confirming.
  18. Yeah, lol...or you could have watched the game with us and saw he was getting away with his s***ty, bloopy, slow, s*** and called out for it when it was really happening. ...lol... xGFY
  19. So did anyone get the $25M? *Nevermind - There's Greg to take the bait.
  20. I hope not. But let's be honest - We won on HRs tonight. 3 of them. 2 with no runners on.
