Sox @ Los Angeles
If you say so. There's 4 (3'ish) above us so they may (very likely) be .500 and we get almost nowhere as well. It's a big f***ing hole. I don't think alot of people realize it.

None of that made sense... Why would you change anything? Peavy... Let HIM middle relief/long man... In conclusion - Screw Peavy in '11 until he proves. So far, all we do is pay him to get operations anyway (and talk....big).

Sox @ Los Angeles
Who cares. They need to go like 15-3 to be relevant.

Sox @ Los Angeles
Unfortunately, that's probably exactly what the Sox will do. P.S. - Juan still sux.

Who's Peavy? *Edit - And there's the normal Juan again.... to make me look stupid. God, I hate him.

Let's hope. Assholes lost like 20 games in a month.... Huge hill to climb.

Heyman "Count on" Danks filling for free agency
They're still s***ty.

Meh, Ozzie generally calls a steal or bunt which results in an out, either way. So pretty much - getting runners on base is meaningless except for home runs. But even then - our manager likes to be sure...we must have all baserunners off the paths before... y'know...we hit one. Ozzieball.

Trip to Sox games in Seattle
I went to see the SOX, but it was June of 07 so.. :\

You are KW/JR. You have the power
Well, 2 things: First, his ERA looks great because of a CG in Seattle. Take that game out, ERA goes up (still good though, for 6 games). Second, not being healthy is what makes him...suck. Who gives a s*** about a low ERA starter if he can't stay healthy enough to, y'know... pitch? Now that I look, even the 2 seasons where he was healthy (06, 07 - appeared in at least close to 30 games or mroe), ERA of nearly 5, WHIP is high, SO/BB flat, etc.

Hey Look - Today is a NEW DAY!!!!
Exactly. We've officially hit the bottom; can't get any worse than "worst." More or less what I was getting at. I'm just hoping the SP is still hanging in there if/when this team finally decides to start hitting.

Phil Rogers with one of his better Sox articles
What do you like about him? Any examples/styles you can tell us about? Im not that familiar with him or his style (like at all), other than looking at his numbers and seeing that he has the most atrocious record in baseball as an active manager (sans last 5 weeks of THIS season).

There are many things to object to: - DH by committe - better idea (Kotsay)? LOL.... "Worked well", he actually said. - Teahen in the outfied? - He doesn't admit how Lillibride sucks (yeah, I know - he's enamored now 'cuz of the catches!!!11!!) This has not been a "fundamentally" sound team my whole life. Only Mark Gonzalez, Phil Rogers, and anyone else in Chicago (save the *MLB guy) really think the Sox are a small ball team or ever have been....or write it anyway (talking about you, dumbass Phil). No link C12, so didn't see the alternate GM/Manager stuff. *MLB Guy - Scott Merkin. Just thought of it.

fire walker
Frank would be boss. He would absolutely WEAR pitchers out until he got what he wanted. Walker sucks. I'm old enough that I remember how completely boring and uneventful he was. But, I had to look up his idol. So one sucked and another who couldn't even make the big leagues. *Edit - Can we get Chuck Lau? He taught Ferris how to hit in that movie where his grandpa was rich.... Is he still alive/available?

The correlation between ex "battery" players and success as managers is not even funny. Just the success for mediocre "C"s alone is mind boggling if you go back the last 15 years. *Edit - 20 *Edit - 25! **Edit - We need 72 back.

Most disappointing Sox team
Off the top of my head, I'd pick '04. The Twins weren't very good and the Sox were pounding like nobody's biz. We even had some pitching. Then, end of the summer...it all ended. And BAD. That was f***ing disappointing. Mags had a thing....gone. Loaiza, traded. Caballo gone. That was a s***ty, s***ty disappointment for a year where the Sox actually got noticed by the Eastern Sports Propaganda Network for kicking ass. The whole bat flip/show up thing was really started in baseball that year...because of us, kicking ass. Also, Mags had a shaved head. I loved that f***ing team, too. We knew Ozzie, but he wasn't a s***ty, douche yet. Anybody who picked 06 is an idiot. That team rocked. 90 Ws, tired SP....Ozzie starting to act up. Performed anyway, with NO starting pitching.... 2nd worst for me would be the 2000 team. One and done is just...like Twins, behavior. The '08 team is not a disappointment because they were the beginning of the whole "just enough to get by" crap I see now. They sucked. TCQ.... hurt himself on his own bat! TB made us look stupid; I knew they would, that year took 163 to win and we shouldn't have been there anyway. Blackout was cool but we really did suck.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
We could fire some people and stuff. Bench dudes. Look at minor leaguers and guys like Dunn as they sit on the bench - point, laff. Who cares. Can't get worse. Winning at less than a 35% clip. When I was a young buck, you got 1/2 way to that kind of winning on your SAT.... just by properly writing your own name.

Trip to Sox games in Seattle
Completely useless addition to this thread but: I LOVE Safeco. Only San Fran was better of all the parks I've been to (and that includes PNC - nice; overrated).
