  1. Yeah, I don't think this one has legs either. Ohman, Crain, Thorton, Frasor, Reed...there's no reason to re-open a Linebrink type experiment.
  2. This, plus - my next question would be - was this a secret to Ozzie? He was sticking him in situations that didn't favor him all year. No big Ozzie fan, but I can't believe he'd do that KNOWING there was an issue with his kid. Come to think of it - I doubt Ozzie would be able to keep his f***ing mouth shut about it.
  3. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see the Yankees get him and then be looking to dump him by the middle of his 2nd year. Reds should be all over one of either Danks/Floyd and they have pieces that make a deal fit.
  4. But that's just it - Gio is clearly not the better player. Billy is also a master at selling inflated value pitchers (because they pitch in Oakland). Is Gio just going into arbitration this year?
  5. C'mon, Milky. There is no pitcher. Completely made up s***. Consider the source.
  6. How stupid are the Nats? They covet Buehrle, but then prioritize Gio over Danks????
  7. Not a good idea, but instead of doing a copy/paste of the material, a summation in your own words based on your own comprehension of it breaks no rules. It's no different than you watching a PPV event and describing/commenting on what you saw. It's not a per se re-transmit.
  8. Absolutely. Cowley isn't fit to sniff Mark's jock.
  9. True, and Danks only said that he thought Coop and JP need to "get on the same page." Next logical step would be talk to, really, EITHER one of the two and look into that before popping off about some huge impasse between the 2 parties that ...well, quite frankly won't even talk to him. But some guy remarks on his perception of the relationship between others, and he concludes that "Bridges need to be rebuilt" without even talking to the actual people he's making this proclamation about. And when they do speak up, surprise - the both state they have no problem with the other. Typical Cowley doucheyness.
  10. No, you are missing the point. Coop flat out stated that he hasn't had a discussion with Cowley in over 2 years. 2 YEARS!!! How can you report on the conversations that take place between people that you have not even interviewed??? I mean, that's not even having an opinion, that's just flat out bulls***.
  11. Same, but that's not really the point I was trying to make. More that if this team is going to be a multi-year s***show because of being hamstrung by signings like Dunn.... that line of thinking.
  12. You don't think Dunn's performance (and now, subsequent inability to contract better talent because we're paying him so much $ to DH) could impact fans decision to support the team? I'm not saying it is or isn't, but I could see it being conceivable and certainly relevant to the discussion.
  13. Coop addressed that himself months ago, in person, and on the air. None of the coaches were being extended, as I recall him saying, he asked what the protocol was, and followed up.... then something about finding out it was put to Ozzie about what coaches to extend, and he wanted them all to "sweat." *Link - here it is.
  14. Prior to last year, Adam Dunn played in the NL and was never a DH. Even prior to last year (now we're going prior-prior), he EXPRESSED reservations about the role the Sox were asking (namely, being a DH and adjusting to the AL).... So, guy shows multiple times he's not comfortable of the role we're asking him to fill and "like clockwork" he sucks after Kenny gets his man. Lots of people thought he was a bad move and lots of people were right.
  15. Oh this.... Ok, let's play this out. Quentin was really really relevant (really) to make that kind of statement...one year, 08. Where he hit where in the order? And before you answer, where was Paulie? Now, let's look at the 2012 linuep in the context of the assertion that Quentin can equal the OPS at 1/2 the price. Are you sure you want to pitch that? You're putting Quentin in Paulie's place without ...well Quentin (at his best) in front. I'm not a Paulie meat-head type fan, but...duder produces with what he's got (that includes more sucky/absent Quentins than good ones). I'll hang up and wait for your answer.
  16. I can't remember anything like that either, but I have TONS of doubt (considering the source). When he sits down on any choice of the MLB.TV offerings, for example...
  17. Just calm down. Yes, I'm quite sure they were "made up" and if not, most certainly "embellished". What Sox would talk to this guy? Or anyone he knows? Hell, they're probably more trained by KW in who not to talk to then they are who they SHOULD TALK TO in learning how to f***ing hit or pitch (which sucks).
  18. Direct quotes to who? Cowley doesn't claim Danks spoke to him...he does his usual s***. "In an interview ," Guy is a hack - just filling the same seat as the last one.
  19. LOL.... Hey I know - Let's just trade Dunn for Soriano. We can DH Soriano, they can put Dunn at 1B when they don't get Fielder. Each team still eats s*** for signing dumb ass contracts, everyone wins (unless you expected quality baseball out of either team, in which case...you are dreaming).
  20. So... Cowley writes another piece to line the cat litter box with. Thanks?

    Taxes

You can't operate an S-Corp without paying taxes the whole f***ing way. At best, you can try to recoup some of those payments and yes - they do translate to deductions against the principals filing. But so what? The government ALWAYS gets its money first, holds it, and gets to play without any return of lost income on revenue earned while they essentially borrowed it interest free (and penalizes too for anything more than 5 minutes past due). Your statment also says nothing about the MASSIVE responsibility, stress, and bulls*** that goes with running an S-Corp with your name (and those that depend on you) directly attached to it.... I guess I'm trying to figure out if you think there's a problem here. S-Corp principals get banged left right and upside down all year while trying to make payroll, benefits, and keep people working while PAYING RIDICULOUS TAXES THE WHOLE WAY, just to maybe....get a piece back, and there's no interest on that $ the govt had 12 months to play with (and misuse). Is that unreasonable? For me, (most years since 2001) I've pulled in less during the year than top/decent producing sales employees, only to count on the year end to break even... Your summary has some basis in fact, but little in reality, my friend.
  22. Let's just all agree that Mark Teahen is a bad baseball player and one of Kenny's not so bright ideas (particularly the extension) over the last 6 or 7 years. Oney is a punk, Mark Teahen's wife wears the pants (big surprise), yadda yadda yaddda, this team is still full of underachieving, overpaid garbage.
