  1. Man I hope Madritsch can eventually get to the majors It would be awesome to see another Goldeye playing in the big leagues.
  2. Has anyone heard anything about prior's mental make up. I am just asking because no matter how good your stuff is chances are that at some point in the season it will fail you for a while. Is he the type that should be able to overcome this and get through a stretch without his best stuff come back strong or could it mess with him and cause him to lose his composure. Buehrle has proven that he has a great mental make up and awesome poise on the mound, very similar to maddux or glavine. Baring injury Buehrle's career should look quite similar to those two and I would take that any day of the week.
  3. Then please for the love of God stop praising Comiskey. It seems odd to me that the stolen grand jury testimony of the players suddenly turned up in Comiskey's lawer's briefcase several years later and Comiskey had guilty knowledge too.
  4. 1. Disagree. My reading shows that Jackson took money. These guys were banned because they conspired to throw the World Series and were on the take from gamblers. There does not need to be any other reason than that. (And Cubkilla, it is not what you you, it is when you hit it, and it is also how you play defense - being a step slow, the throw being a tad off and slow, etc. You know that these things cannot be "proved" now with all the participants dead. But the suspicions arose at the time by the people who saw the Sox suddenly play like bush leaguers and in a a few games suddenly turn it back on again. It was obvious to those who saw it.) 2. And this puts me in the odd position of disagreeing with you not only once, but also twice. Veeck may have been the most fun owner ever but it was hardly the best. In both of his tenures with the Sox he traded away our future and had all kinds of questionable trades. Call it being uncapitalized, call it being a riverboat gambler, call it having a very short attention span - his periods of ownership were (mercifully) brief, he always felt compelled to go on and do something different, but he left us depleted both times. I know that this is a fine line but I think that there is a difference between taking money and being given money that you didn't want, which is what happend to Joe. Joe is only problem was guilty knowledge and even that is debateable.
  5. Frank is great but Shoeless Joe was the Greatest player to ever wear a White Sox uniform. f*** Shoeless. Do the s*** he did and youre not even worthy of sucking a goats dick. He f***ed us over for nearly a century. f*** him! :fyou :fyou :fyou The only things that Joe did wrong was that he had knowledge of the fix and suposedly didn't tell anybody, although there is some evidence that he tried to tell Charles Comiskey but Comiskey wouldn't talk to him because he was already working on a cover up and he felt Joe wasn't bright enough to help. The other thing he did wrong was not knowing what to do with the money that was given to him for the fix and keeping it, however he was told to keep it by Comiskey's representatives and there is evidence that he never spent the money. If the old roman wasn't such a cheap prick that scandel never would have happend.
  6. Frank is great but Shoeless Joe was the Greatest player to ever wear a White Sox uniform.
  7. If you go to a game when they play the Winnipeg Goldeyes you might be able to see three famous sons if the Goldeyes can resign Pete Rose Jr.
  8. The only problem with this idea is that Shannon Stewart sucks.
  9. I'll have to be sure to boo him when he is getting his ass handed to him by my Winnipeg Goldeyes.

    I'm in
  11. As long as the Sox are in the World Series and not at home facing their TV screens I don't really care who their opponent is.

If thats the plan they should do it at the same time so it will always look uniform. I really wouldn't mind that change though, ballparks should be green.
  13. I heard that is why he always had a good OBP, someone kept telling him that there was some crack under first base.
  14. You'd be crazy not to....I was just showing how similar they actually are. Valentin is probably a very good spark for the team....in 2000, we had him at SS and he ignited out lineup(along with Thomas's production). In 01 and 02, he was not playing SS....he was not sparking the lineup. When he got SS back in August, we started playing well again. It is something about him playing SS that just does that....it's like a mojo or something. Fisrt of all I really like Jose but people keep giving him so much credit for the teams success in 2000 and the end of 2002, it seems to me that that success had alot more to do with Franks bat than Jose playing short. Jose should be playing at SS but I have to give Frank the bulk of the credit for the success of the team during those two periods.
  15. btw on this pic...whos the one in the middle? im assuming its rauch? cuz he is freaking tall..or it might be garland. the one on the far lefts gotta be colon. gotta luv the sox uniforms The one on the left can't be Colon, there is no way he would be at the front of the pack.
  16. My friend, don't ever say that. I remember the days when it was said if our shortstop coulld just hit 240 but played stellar defense... and then along came Royce... who actually had a better batting year than Valentin last year, hit 260 for us, and did it mater? If our catcher hits 220 he will be a bum in the fans minds and I will think it is woefully inadequte. And 220 will only be improvement over MJ, not over Sandy and JP. I am following HSC on this, I think Olivo will be fine. If he is around 260 his first year, cool, but I want that average higher plus the stellar defense plus a good chemistry in the clubhouse player. I always value your opinion but I have to stand by my statement. However I should have added more to it, I agree .220 is an inadequete average but I could live with it if he is showing signs of improvement and the D is great. Also if he does have any trouble with his game calling all he has to do is look toward the dugout and get a sign from Sandy. I will take a defensive catcher over an offensive catcher any day of the week esspecialy with the other offensive threats that are on this team. All this is really meaningless though since Olivo will do just fine.
  17. As soon as Garland and Wright realize their potential, Buehrle, Garland and Wright will look alot like Glavine, Maddux and Smoltz.
  18. I picked shoeless joe as my all time favorite based on stats and things I have read. I truely wish I could have seen him play.
  19. Just a quick note if we traded for Millwood I really doubt that we would have added Colon as well.

The #5 starter should be the guy who wins the job in ST. Having said that if Rauch is clearly the best guy out of ST he should still start in AAA until we need the fifth guy to take a regular turn in the rotation.
  21. Frank should hit third until he proves he isn't capable. He is most comfortable there and will likely put up the best numbers hitting there.
  22. If were talking all time I'm with HSC, Shoeless Joe was the man. As for present players it's a tough call but I 'll go with Crede.
  23. THAT I agree with. Nobody said it that way until you, and I'm glad you did. Frank does have a lot to prove, just like he did in 2000, and we all know what happened that year. But yes, if you are talking right this second, you'd have to go with Mags based off of last season's performances. But like you, I feel that Frank will definitely rebound and prove that he's one of the premier threats in the sport. The opposing pitchers are going to be s***ing their pants when they have to face the middle of our line up. Both of these guys are going to kick ass this year.
  24. I love Frank but until he proves he is back (which i think he will) I gotta go with Maggs.
  25. Of course, if Miguel is hitting .220 with 4 HR and 13 RBI at the end of May, then you're obviously going to have to re-evaluate things. I could live with those numbers as long as his D is solid. They would be an improvement over last year.
