$10,625,000
Sounds like a fair deal. Now if only one of our other pitchers could get a fair deal thing would be fabulous. jr, kw hello anyone listening?
-
KW
For some reason way to damn long comes to mind.
-
New contract for Thomas??
I know this is probably getting old but lets hope its kw going and jr following.

25-man rosters
I like lists too. Here is one of mine: nails futon the Netherlands peas large empty boxes tubs of goo flatulent otters in peanut oil bikinis Dorf on Valium my pants the Larch the mystique of Bobo Brazil That is a mighty fine list. Correct me if I am wrong but I think you forgot peanut butter and nana samiches.

2003 Sox 25 man roster
A well placed fight against the Twins would be nice Lets send Thomas, White and a couple of other guys to get them now. I need more to talk about until ST starts.

What Should be the Sox Next Move?
You're just not going to be happy until Jeff Suppan is wearing a Sox uniform are you

What Should be the Sox Next Move?
Jon is the toilet variety, be nice. Where I come from - which is a country with indoor plumbing - - the restroom is a "john" and "jon" is http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/prof...le?statsId=6620 Because of corporate names I see the word spelled both ways on various different companies' products, actually. Are we really discussing this? Here I am being all nice to you on the other board then I come here and you're bashing my Country. Let's try to not let it happen again ok

SN Report
I'm guessing that rios will get the final spot on the bench.

Sox sign: Burke, Morales, Loaiza, Heredia, Cooper,
I agree I think I would rather take the chance at Lee having a breakthrough with another team then the chance of him continuing to stagnate here. Besides I think in order for him to have a breakthrough season he needs to DH so he doesn't have to think about defense.
-
Juan Acevedo
That is probably a possibility, it seems that a lot of players and agents had a hard time accepting that the market is down this year.
-
From Ken Rosenthal
I agree it's all about depth now.

What Should be the Sox Next Move?
If we could get Lampkin on a minor leauge deal it would be good to have a veteran availible if/when Alomar goes down. Other than that maybe Orlando Palmero if Rowand isn't going to be ready.

Sox sign: Burke, Morales, Loaiza, Heredia, Cooper,
None of these names are very interesting but at least they might provide some band-aids for any possible injuries.

Who should be the Opening Day starter
When it comes to on the field performance Mark has done everything right and everything to deserve the opening day start. Mark and Colon are both aces so being #1 or #2 shouldn't matter and they will both have the oppertunity to get their 35 starts. In this case pitching on opening day is an honor that should go to the guy who has helped this team the most and that guy is Mark.

White Sox Wins
I'm cautiously optimistic, I'll go with 88 to 92 wins.
-
OK Let the fight begin
It is rumored that Colon turned down 12.5million a year from the Expos, and while the money is probably not why he turned it down that will be the type of money he is looking for. I honestly can't see jr and kw offering anywhere near that so I am not optimistic about him re signing. As for Mark, keep Mark lose kenny.
-
Rick White
Most pitchers get Tattooed in Colorado, White pitched quite well once he went to St. Louis and he has respectable career numbers. Besides that you can never have too much bullpen depth.
-
this trde would have me thinking world series
Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Nillson get moved to first base by the Brewers when he was there because he was very weak behind the plate.
-
OK Let the fight begin
or ever again - that money of money is not healthy for the sport and it sure hasn't been good for the Rangers I think that the only good thing to come out of the AROD deal is that it probably got most of the owners to realize that they were helping the salaries skyrocket. Now hopefully they will not make the same mistakes again.
-
OK Let the fight begin
zito's numbers are just staggering 47-14 , 536ip , 430 hits , 465k's , 203 bb , 3.04 era last year 23-5 , 229ip, 182 hits , 182k's, 72bb , 2.75 era those numbers would look great if they came from a pitcher in the late 60's...wonder what it will cost to sign this guy when he becomes a free agent if he stays the course..could he get AROD money??? I truely hope that no one will get AROD money for a long time, I don't care how good they are. I just hope this market correction that we are starting to see a little bit can take hold.

If Not Cruz,
I believe Beltran's agent is Scott Boras so it's not likely that we would go after him.
-
Kw is not qualified
Weather or not he was hired because of race is irrelevent, he should be fired due to incompatence.
-
Colon offered contract from Expos
I agree it is doable, I am just not sure that it is likely to happen though.
-
Colon offered contract from Expos
My intended point was that I can't see the Sox offering anything near that amount. While I agree that he wouldn't want to stay in Montreal the team is being sold and relocated so there would have been a lot of potential for him to be the ace pitcher in a new market. However with the uncertainty of the situation that probably wouldn't of swayed him.

marlins get pudge
Our offence was third in the AL in runs scored and that was with guys like Clayton and Mark johnson on the team. We didn't need Irod. Olivo's arm is as good as Irod's and his offence has to be at least as good as Johnson's probably better. As long as he learns the finer points of the position from Alomar he should prove to be an excellent catcher, we didn't need Irod.
