  1. I'll second that. :fyou
  2. Well unless the author has omited something that pointed that last comment at Frank then I think it is just some guess work by the author based on Frank's media reputation.
  3. Damn the season better start soon, I am finding myself getting way to interested in this thread that was started with a hypothetical trade that will never happen. I need some real baseball damn it! Sorry just had to get that off my chest.
  4. Well I really want to get down to Chicago for a weekend sometime this summer if I can afford it. If that happens I will be happy with any series they happen to be playing.
  5. I certainly don't. To start with, I'll agree with you on Jiminez. Filling Durham's shoes will not be easy, but the guy really looked like a ballplayer to me. Crede also, not a sure thing but I like his odds of being the real deal. As for Olivo, we got no production last year from the catcher position. If he hits .230 and plays quality defense, it's an improvement. Valentin's numbers have been going down while they jerked him around because of the Clayton fiasco. Put him at short, leave him alone, and it's good bet he'll rebound to his 2000 stats. I fully expect Lee and Thomas to improve over last years stats, and feel good about the chances that Maggs and Paulie can duplicate last year. All in all, there is a pretty solid nucleus to build the lineup around. We did score a ton of runs last year. Oh, I forgot CF... After April, Lofton was terrible. Rowand was improvement after Lofton was traded. He'll hold it down adequately. Don't forget Crede is basicaly replacing clayton in the line up so anything he does in an improvement to the offence.
  6. Just tell me when and I'll do my best to figure something out.
  7. Are we talking per game or per inning?
  8. buehrle said today on stage that he went to manuel and assured him that starting colon opening day was fine with him..that he considers colon an ace type pither and he is not one...said he didnt care if jerry put him in the 5th starters spot...whatever is best for the team is fine with him... I hope that statement will prove to Buehrle's detractors that he is a class act and a team player.
  9. I hate the damn blue jays. I hate the fact that i have to watch ten minutes of jays highlights on every sportscast up here just to see a few seconds of Sox highlights. The worst thing that ever happend was the jays-braves World Series, how do you wacth a series when you hate both teams with a passion and you know that one of them has to win.
  10. DC makes the most sense although they have already lost two teams. It will be a sad day for me when the Expos move, the Canadian sports networks already ram the blue jays down my throat I hate to think what will happen when they are the only Canadian team left.

I agree, and since we are the fans we can still call the park whatever we want to.
  12. Could have been that there was a lot of civil service type people(chicks) out that week anyways and lots of tourists in the summer. Man did the g-8 blow dead goats for the town though, the govt. has decided not to pay any compensation. Did you hear the F-18's fly over that one morning, I thought we all were dead. During the time I was in Kananaskis me and my co-workers were all having a few beers on the balcony of one of our rooms at about midnight, and about 8 choppers came in directly over the hotel. that was pretty awesome to see. Seeing the blackhawks land when bush arrived was cool too, Bush came up and met the crowd so I got to shake his hand. The secret service guys didn't look like they were to happy that he did that but then again they probably never look happy.
  13. I think it would be worth a minor leauge contract. You can never have to much pitching depth.

yeah for now, wait in 3 or 4 yrs when he can go anywhere he wants too. evidently buehrle stole the show during the manuel , kw chat session when he showed up to a standing ovation from the fans...maybe that will sink in with KW that we pay to watch the players play and not him "generally manage" We can only hope kw does something to make him happy so that we at least have a chance at keepig him beyond 2006.
  15. Well i saw quite a few good looking women the one night I went out, guess it was a good night. I'm from Winnipeg. The company I work for has its head office in Montreal and they got the audio/visual contract for the conference. I was at the G-8 setting and operating some of the audio and translation equipment that was used for there.

All three days I will be sitting at home in the dark wearing my pjs and mutering semi-incoherantly about how life isn't fair because I can't be there with all of you. Anyway I hope you all have a blast.
  17. ok ill be the b**** here and say that i think its a bit much for a guy whos never thrown a ball for us.........espically when we treat our ace like total s***..........but thats just me.... i would have taken care of the home business first then took care of the new comer............ :fyou kw and jr.... Well I only meant that it was fair considering baseball's current salary structure. Yes Mark should have been taken care of first but it seems the priorities of management are........ lets see how can I put this nicely........completely and totally f***ed up beyond all recognition. As for the part about being a b****, I value my life and therefore have no comment
  18. From what I've heard many Americans don't know where or what Canada is, so I figured I could pull a fast one maybe. Credible in that there are 5 official parties(at least 13 seats), but the credibility I refer to is implied and definately not earned. Ok now i get it. By the way I really like Canmore or at least the little bit that I saw of it. I was there for a few days last summer when I was working at the G-8 summit. there are some mighty fine women out there
  19. We do? Do you live in another Canada that I am not aware of. The Canada I live in has many political parties but I dont think I would call any of them credible, at least not in their current state.
  20. Baseball weekly said KC is looking to deal him after he rejected their offer but it is only a rumor at this point.
  21. You're right, I just think that they would want a better position player than Rowand in the deal.
  22. It said fifty bucks a seat, as low as forty in a group plan depending on the size of the group.
  23. KC is getting rid of Beltran cause they can't pay him, so CLee is the last guy the want. They did offer Beltran a three year deal for 25 million, CLee could be signed for less than that and besides kw would likely send some cash their way.
  24. I think we would probably have to put Lee in there instead of Rowand. KC would be loosing alot of offence and they would probably want some back. Either way I can't see it happening but it is fun to speculate.
  25. How long untill the first drunken fan comes close to falling off the wall. I have to admit though I'd love to see a game from those seats.
