I remember hearing something along those lines. I think it was Hawkins they were talking about. They have some issues with next year like we do too, atleast were not the only ones.
I agree with almost everything. But Carlos having Bonds potential, come on. What has he done to make you think he can be one of the greatest hitters ever. He looks like he will be an allstar but he hardly looks like a hall of famer.
Sounds good to me. I wouldn't be complaining.
I believe your right about the FA part, but Hawkins has shown his ability to close before. That's why he lost his job to Everyday Eddy. I think he's better suited for setting up. I could see Foulke on the Cubs though.
Yada, yada, yada...
...Tony said the Twins have an easy schedule, Wilbon responded saying Sox will win 2 of 3 against the Twins, and have been playing well and all. Brought up Loaiza and all. Nothing very new or anything.
It'll just be a part of 'toss up.' It probably won't get more than asking each other who will win the AL Central; the Sox or Twins. I bet one will pick us, the other will take the Twins.
Eh, Shinjo didn't come over here with a great deal of hype. He was a good player in Japan, but not near Ichiro or Hideki Matsui. He wasn't a bust his first year either.
Losers always have excuses, lmao.
There is going to be even more when the Cubs are offically eliminated from playoff contention. That's goina be even more annoying.
He would be perfect for Reinsdorf. The Japanese players always draw huge interest when they come over here. He would help the Sox draw crowds. None of us have seen him play, you're right winnginuglyin83, but look at the players who have come over to the US with credentials like him; Ichiro and Hideki Matsui. It seems he was almost at their level in Japan. I would love to take a shot on him.
If you did that deal, you could try to sign Carl too. That would free up money and you could always try different guys at first with Frank playing there a bit. I would hate to see Paulie leave, but it would be best for the team.
I don't think it's so much what he has done, but what other options do we have. Would you put Willie Harris or Aaron Miles there next year. I would try to talk him down to a one year deal with incentives or something. Two years does worry me a little bit.
ESPN has been on the Sox bandwagon as of late. Rob Dibble and Harold Reynolds have both picked the Sox to win the AL Central. I don't watch a great deal of ESPN, so there could be more or those could be the only two, I don't know. Dibble also said Loaiza should win the Cy Young and several other good things about the Sox. They know we are for real.
Playing Oakland without one of their big three would okay with me. I think we match up really well with all of the playoff caliber teams. This team is so much stronger than the one we took in the playoffs in 2000.
What can ya say about Bartolo's 3 straight complete games. He's been a stud lately. You have to go with him in the 1-game playoff and to start the division series, if you can.
