We have four solid starters, and I really want Schoey to return, and I believe he feels he has something in Hermanson. Most teams don't have five guys who can pitch with the best of them, and generally those teams struggle with the offense if they do (LA, Oakland, to name the biggest ones).

He was out of Alabama. I want to say Jeremy Brown, but I don't remember his name. I read something on Rotoworld not to long back that mentioned him having a good game in winter ball. We have to remember that kid got overhyped in the book to make Beane and co. look better. IMHO any GM could get a book like that, making them seem like God. What does everyone mean Kendall is locked up. I know the contract he came from the Bucs with, but is there a new contract or what do you guys mean locked up?

No, they're not similar to angels in my opinion. His question is more ethical though, hypothetically. I don't agree with the cloning, nor playing God, but in this case, Gepetto was a deserving man. How much of what we do is ethical anyways, hell, I sin everyday.

I only visited one school. I had never been to Michigan State (where I chose to go), but the other ones I had been to (Iowa, DePaul, Illinois, and Indiana). I know people who visit schools early, and also who never visit schools at all. Just make sure you apply to more than one school. One of my friends did that, and didn't get in. Also, it happen on Laguna Beach.

I think that's awesome for those who do it. I am sure it means alot to the families who are in need.

Wright was released last month, and had major surgury last season. He is done with the organization.

What/who's Longwood.

One question I do have is would their contracts be honored, our would they need to be given new deals? This could be interesting to watch it build.

He loves to coach, but needs to see that he is physically unable to coach now. Too bad for him, he's a very solid coach, but it could kill him to go back, and I hope he realizes that. FWIW, he has had seven bypasses IIRC. BTW, Illinois is kicking some ass, so is Iowa. Too bad my Spartans have been a bit disappointing.

Yah, but it was seemingly to scare the city of Minneapolis into giving them a ballpark, then the team has torn up the AL Central, so they're not going anywhere. If Minnesota was contracted, it would just be someone else fighting with us in the AL Central. I like the competition.

He says saying he has a certain number of quality starts, and it was shown he didn't have the quality starts. Just that. If he had them, flaunt them is how I see it, but if you don't, its kind of moot then. I see both sides of the argument, people are just focused on the wrong thing IMHO.

Arlington Heights, Illinois? No? How about East Lansing, Michigan? No again. Damn...honestly though, I say contraction. We don't have to worry about a park built for the Expos, so the biggest issue is jobs (not the players, but front office, staff, scouts, janitors, vendors, etc) and only one empty ballpark. The competition has become watered down with guys who shouldn't be in the league. Its tough for a city to lose a team, but why do cities only seem to care when they're about to lose the team. That isn't sticking with your team, its called attention.

I am not pissed about anything. What would we be pissed about. I love the Chicago White Sox. You can see me wearing White Sox stuff all the time, and I stick out well in Michigan with it. I have multiple hats which I wear everyday too. I have posters and bobbleheads on my desk. My wallpaper is Podsednik. I am so happy about this team right now. We have an awesome core and a GM who is trying his ass off to make us better. We can all have guys we feel we need, guys who are our favorites, and guys we dislike...but not matter what, we cannot do anything about it. We have only the guys on this team right now to work with. And, as of now, we are all undefeated. Anything can happen, see: last several postseasons. I am very excited to get this team to ST, even if we fail to make another move, I feel confident we will compete.

It isn't all about post totals though. My post total grew last year when I posted alot. I don't post very much anymore, but I read many times a day. I feel a part of the community, and there are several people whom have smaller post totals (molto, heads, murcie), yet are the foundation of the site. There are also people who don't stray into the off-topic boards. BTW, I like your avatar.

I didn't even read the date...I figured it was newer. Why would something like this be bumped? Just curious.

The Soxtalk I was born into is a million times different now than when I came along...and I know for a fact it was a million times different when I started than when it began. So many people who were better respected and more known have left. Oh the memories.

Eh, I see it as a front, to show people they're serious about the big time guys. I don't think we should go that route though. I don't believe in $10 million contracts. Beltran reallys hasn't earned that money. What lets a team win a WS is by getting lucky on guys whom arn't expected to be stars (see Red Sox: Ortiz, Arroyo, Bellhorn, Mueller, Reese, Leskanic...Marlins: Cabrera, Pierre, Gonzalez...Angels: Eckstein, Kennedy, Rodriguez...to name a few off each team). If we have Uribe, Harris, Garland, Crede, Gload, Grilli, Diaz, Marte, or any combination of guys break out, we will be awesome. If they don't, then we will do as we have generally done, second place.
