Which is a huge deal. I don't think anyone wants to morgage the future on one guy basically being around for the next decade at inflated costs.

I do agree with that though.

He helped to keep us in games early though. And game number one counts just as much as game number one-sixty-two. As suppose to be our fifth starter, he filled in adequately as our fourth for a month or so until he went down to injuries.

Beltran isn't the same kind of player. He is no where near as established as Alex was. This is a business first, and he scares me a ton if he wants ten years.

I remember reading that there was talk that Nomar milked his injury last season, and didn't rush back to play as fast as he could have. That and him saying he was hurt he found out through the media he was close to being traded are the only spats I can remember with him. FWIW.

This is stupid. Seriously guys, while Anthrax may be annoying (sorry to say buddy, but yeah), people jump on him everytime. He simply brought up a player he thought may be a person we could look at. I am sure none of us are firmiliar with the guy or his game. I am tired of all the bickering on this site. Its too much. Basically every thread goes back to Polanco and Cabrera etc. Its old.

I am not sold on this guy, .274 scares me deeply. How is he one of the smartest hitters then? For a million would I do it, yes, but not for much more. Alot of questions were said of Shingo when we signed him. Some are great and some are terrible, it is a game of risks. Something he could give us though, is a continued boost in the Japanese market. We would be among the top four or five teams with two of their beloved sons, as I am sure he is somewhat of a well known name. I would take the chance, but not starting out of ST unless he earns it.
