I don't think Beane could try to pull one over on JP either. The A's are trying to dump some salary (I've heard/read Durazo and Rhodes amonst others, plus Dye is gone), and bring in some other pieces.

Great leadoff hitter? .291, 2 hr, 47 rbi, 21 sb is going to get him in the HoF. Conine is not very good anymore. Why would we give them PK, Willie, and Arnie? Maybe PK, Willie, and Munoz for Castillo and Mota. EDIT: A .373 OBP too.

I'd take Castillo over Pierre because he fills a hole here. That'd be a horrible trade too.

Yeah, that's why I brought up a package. A deal would be centered around these two, and would either involve prospects or more likely cash. Something like Hudson, Rhodes/Durazo, and a prospect for Konerko and Munoz wouldn't surprise me.

Not correct. They have a very good staff, but can't hit for a lick. You trade pitching (which is plentiful in Oakland) for the best hitting 1B in the AL last season. It would be an even bigger package than just one for one though.

Bulls***. Look at some of the other guys we're looking at; RJ, Hudson, etc. I see the latin issue as nothing.

I assume we'd get to eat Durazo up, but wouldn't have to part with any quality prospect.

It's been talked about that they'd looked for Varitek or Kendall. It would take so much more than Jorge Posada to get RJ. That'd just be the main blocks of the deal.
