  1. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 01:15 PM) How many do I get with Mlb.tv. This is my first year with MLB.tv. I've always had Extra Innings. 70 bucks cheaper and now I get HD. Hopefully we're competitive for awhile so that I don't try to kill myself while I try to watch. All the ones that are announced in the press release. You get mlb game day audio as part of mlb.tv, and the webcasts are open to all. You will need to use mlb.tv(or the at at app) to watch the csn and wgn games. Spring training games are blackout free.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 12, 2014 -> 09:44 AM) Si. http://www.stubhub.com/gift-cards/ Best bang for the buck as a Sox fan, usually. there can be a lot of hidden gems out there on stubhub. i grabbed suite tix for under $25 for a friday night a few years ago.
  3. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 11, 2014 -> 09:42 PM) Ditto. Had a ton of them in advance. Although in 2006, I feel like a lot of those games were sold out or very crowded, so the only way to get in for a decent price was in advance, at least for the good opponents or whatever. Most games were 30k and higher. April was still a dead month even with the high sth rate.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 11, 2014 -> 10:10 PM) Thanks. It's not for a couple of weeks. I actually wound up going with stub hub, given how cheap Sox tix are always on there. Stubhub gift cArd?
  5. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Feb 11, 2014 -> 04:28 PM) Thanks, I've been on the fence about it for a few years but never seem to bring myself to join. I might just get it this year. It does come with postseason ticket offers!
  6. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Feb 11, 2014 -> 11:43 AM) Is anybody here a part of Sox Pride club? I am. It's ok. Other teams have better variations.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 11, 2014 -> 01:27 PM) I was referring to the fact that a few days before a game I can always find a discount code or go on StubHub and find a cheaper ticket if I want to attend. In 2006 I paid full price for games months ahead of time, where either the weather sucked or it was suddenly inconvenient for me to go. I hear ya.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 11, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) I bought a bunch of single game tickets on the first day in 2006. Never again. It's a lot easier now.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 11, 2014 -> 01:06 PM) My mother-in-law wants to get me a birthday present. I want White Sox tickets. My birthday is 4 days prior to single-game tickets going on sale. The White Sox website says to purchase them at Dominick's. That is LOL. Whichever one of you elite gentlemen (or women) helps out gets a cookie. You can buy mlb.com gift cards online. They will work on ONLINE ticket orders. The sox gift cards are available to buy at retailers as well as the sox box office or the Chicago sports depot. The cards are only good for in person purchases of tix or goods Pm me if u have more questions.
  10. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 10, 2014 -> 12:49 PM) LOL Kenny committed rape in the second Freddy deal and in the McCarthy deal. Hahn held onto Gavin Floyd until he got hurt & lost all value. And the Peavy return was quality for what Peavy was but this wasn't the "haul" type on paper, far from it. And Texas? Really? Rios was a salary dump for Abreu money. They had a dollar and only took fifty cents back. The Freddy and bmac deals are more about the kW/Ozzie feud that only got worse. Ozzie made it known he wasn't hot on McCarthy, a kW guy, and Kenny traded ozzie's niece's husband, who he was super tight with. The fact that thaw moves worked out is a bonus. Peavy for Garcia is a great deal. As for rios, sox get L Garcia for essentially $1 million. Texas had wanted more salary relief, and Hahn worked his advantage hard. Not at all unlike when Kenny got rios, actually.
  11. QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 8, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) I disagree. Ithink the writing wason the wall that the 2013 team was at the end of a pretty good run. I think KW would have done the same thing. You cannot winwith a bunch of rookies. If you are trying to win you need mostly vets with only one or two rookies. This is what the Sox did for years until the time ran out. Now is the time to take losses and build the core again for a run of success. KW was in charge of the minors beforehe was GM. I don't think he has a problem with them he just knows you can't win with all rookies. Kenny overvalues his major league acquisitions. He has never done well cashing out, and I can see him risking a decent return to wait til winter. Hahn understood the need to move fast. And he was smart playing off Boston's and Texas' desperation after biogenesis
  12. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Feb 8, 2014 -> 11:54 AM) That's pretty late from what I can remember.they really wanna push multiphase plans before single tix.probably because this team is a scary hit or miss ballclub this year. Considering that not many people are expecting the sox to do well, this is a good move. Push some more group tix and 7 game plans as the single game sales will likely be low.
  13. Yeah, the 83's are the Sunday alternate again. I had lobbied for the 59's, but cAnt cry. Seems guys like sale really like them.
  14. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 8, 2014 -> 10:48 AM) http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/cws/white-...p;vkey=news_cws "We were able to execute our long-term plan in a very short time," Williams said. "Each year that we put together our Plan A, B and C, we've talked about, 'Is now the year that we should turn it over and get younger and target guys who could help us and help us very quickly?' "Well, we were always competing so it was hard to do. So we have a bad year and it gives us the opportunity to do what we had tried to position ourselves to do every year. I got to tell you, when we are talking about our target list and some of the guys we've been able to bring in since last July, I'm as excited as I've been in years to see this team take the field." I know you're trying to be funny but yeah " no s***" he hates rebuilds. If he was gm in 2013, I think we still have peavy and rios.
  15. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 8, 2014 -> 12:26 AM) Do we know when single game tickets go on sale? It seems odd that the season is a little more than a month and a half away, and not only are tickets not on sale, but they haven't even announced a date...? Hearing end of the month or even early march.
  16. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 11:07 AM) http://www.mlb.com/cws/ticketing/march_to_opening_day.jsp Hey, if you're rich enough to plop down the money for 20+ tickets in February, we have free stuff for you! If you have to save up to take a family of four to a game or two, well then f*** YOU! 20 tickets costs as low as $100. If you are looking for a way to make the Sox look like fools, you aren't going to get that here. It's a contest designed to boost group sales in a year that most will write off. Oh, and the cost to take a family of four to a game? $20 on a sunday. Even less if you have the kids signed up in the kids club. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/fan_fo...sclub_index.jsp
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 04:16 PM) And he's never going to spend this on the team ever. It's probably not a lot of money, and the sox DO spend the money. Jose abreu ring any bells? The 7-11 deal was 500k a year to move the start time to 7:11. I suspect this deal is less per year.
  18. This s*** ain't new. Anyone remember Albert belle's...um.....er.......ladyfriend (and onetime poster here and at WSI) Steff read Williams the riot act 2004? And that made the news!
  19. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 25, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) Every other question was either ripping Dunn or Ventura. Not so. It was a decent seminar. But as it's the only "public" Hahn/Ventura session( Friday is much more exclusive), you KNOW there's going to be goofballs. Like Chet coppock.
  20. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 08:25 PM) I kinda quickly scanned over the Trib Soxfest schedule and noticed that Frank was set to do a thing with "broadcasters Hawk Harrelson and Tom Paciorek" - Stoney is still in the booth, correct? Also listening to Larry Holmes on 670 with Coop and Todd Steverson right now. Coop is excellent. Hawk and wimpy were the tv guys during franks rise. And it sounds like frank loved their broadcasts.
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 24, 2014 -> 06:09 PM) The GM seminar use to be the greatest thing ever. Packed room and it was always front page news the next day. Doubt that anymore There were a lot of marquee signings as well as the frank photo session. I missed out because I wanted a pic of my kid with frank.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 16, 2014 -> 02:17 PM) If Bobby is out of money, and there is no indication he is, he's living in Malibu, he only has to look in the mirror. He made $26 million. Say the government and other obligations gets half, that's $13 million. Say he blew half, that's living a pretty good life, that leaves $6.5 million. Say his wife gets half, he still has over $3 million. That's ultraconsevative with no investments, just burning money. I find it next to impossible insurance isn't paying his medical bills. He was a major league player when this all went down. How many people here have $3 million in the bank and need a handout? I'm pretty sure if the choice was $3 million or your current bank balance, most here would take the $3 million. well, he's no longer under a contract. i think the team health care plan ends when you are not on the roster. which is why i see someone like jerry floating a minor league deal on him.
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 15, 2014 -> 09:43 AM) The reason I'd be OK with it is because the Sox doctors could then oversee his rehab, making sure everything's going fine. If Jenks handled his money well at all, he will need absolutely no help handling the medical bills. Well, he's a recovering addict, divorced, and likely paying child support. As much as I was pissed about his attitude in 2009-2010, I'm not going to be a dick and say "you should be able to handle that check, bobby".
