  1. Ridiculous dunk by Paul. That will be top 5 on sportscenter I'm pretty sure.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 11:49 AM) Absolutely, but I fear we will never find out because Ullis may end up at a smaller program than he deserves. He would be a steal for Iowa if he ends up there. I think we might have different definitions of "ceiling". I think there's a reason everyone has Nunn as a top 60 player while Ullis can't get an offer. If Nunn reaches his ceiling, with his athleticism, he can make the NBA. Ullis, at 5'6 or however short he is, with not elite athleticism, will never play in the NBA. Even still, Groce likes the type of PG that is quick, can drive, and isn't scared to shoot the ball. Everything I've heard of Ullis says that he would fit exactly that mold. Yet Groce hasn't offered. Just find it weird. Maybe college coaches don't think his quickness will allow him to be successful at the college level. Look at Yogi Ferrell. He's extremely small was basically a 5*. Just because he can create space in high school does not mean that he can create space against high major division I athletes.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 11:42 AM) Oh brother. People need to go see Nunn before making statements like that. Dunking is the only think Nunn can do better than Ullis. Ty actually can create his own shot. So you're saying that Ullis' ceiling is higher than Nunn? Otherwise I don't know what the "oh brother" was for. I never said Nunn was better right now.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 11:29 AM) It's too bad that Illinois can't keep more kids in state. It won't happen, but if in this junior class, Groce got Okafor and Ullis, you're looking at a Big Ten champion. College coaches need to ignore Ullis' height. The kid is a player of the year candidate now and if he had actually transferred to Simeon, he'd be the best guard on that team. I've seen quite a few people say that, but coaches aren't ignoring his height and they get paid to evaluate and recruit players. He may well be the best guard if he was on Simeon, but his ceiling wouldn't be anywhere near Nunn's.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 09:37 AM) That was the fear with Ohio State and it didn't happen. Obviously Minnesota's bigs are better, but I think Illinois made rebounding a point of emphasis. Perhaps Purdue was the wake up call they needed. I hope so... The hall should be rockin tonight too. Would be a huge victory.
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 09:06 AM) Illinois 76, Minnesota 72. That's my prediction. Tight game from the get go, Illinois goes on a small run to start the 2nd half and never lets up. If the Illini can keep the rebounds close, then I agree that they'll win. That will be a tall order though.
  7. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 12:12 PM) After last nights performance, would u guys even put Nd in the Top 10? Yes. Easily. I honestly think they would have beaten Oregon and K State. Bama was just a nightmare matchup for them.
  8. QUOTE (kev211 @ Dec 2, 2012 -> 07:03 PM) They went 12-0 with wins over Stanford and Oklahoma and they won that Pitt game as well. I don't see your point every team has a bad day, its the good ones that overcome it and manage to remain undefeated. Alabama struggles against mobile Quarterbacks and ND has stopped the run all season minus the Pitt game. Anyone who thinks Alabama is this unstoppable force and ND is going to get killed is wrong. The game will be close. Good call.
  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 10:29 PM) damn, I wish he was my bookie. Yeah, stanford beat oregon by 3. I think bama would honestly beat them by at least a touchdown.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 10:01 PM) Absolutely, but I still think at this point in time TAMU would beat all of them. A bama rematch with TAMU would be pretty epic. I think Bama would win with time to prep though. The time they played was a very, very bad spot for bama (were coming off an emotional win at LSU).
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 09:56 PM) Bama a 3 pt favorite over Oregon. Did you see this somewhere or is this just your opinion?
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 7, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) No hickoryhuskers posts yet? I'm looking forward to this as well considering the debates we had about the game. He thought I was crazy.
  13. I didn't realize the nd defense was this overrated. It makes sense though, this is really the only good team they played this year with a balanced offense. I thought nd would keep it close in the trenches and that they would get tired late, but they're just getting abused right out the gate.
  14. If Barrett jones is healthy I think Bama covers the spread pretty easily. Can't think of too many scores where they don't cover. Will they even put up double digit points?
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 07:11 PM) Really like PFF. I'm going to buy a month's subscription and look at all the premium stats. Yeah, it's an awesome site. Check out JJ Watts numbers. Insane how good he is. Last year the highest score in all of football was like a +60 (and that was by QBs). Watt has a score of >100 this year.
  16. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 07:30 PM) Michigan playing real well tonight. I kinda feel bad for Northwestern. At least 1/4 of the crowd at all their conference games is rooting for the away team. Yeah. I know it's early, but Michigan looks like the best team in the big 10 thus far. By a decent margin too.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 26, 2012 -> 10:46 AM) I concur, Rodgers would get my vote. I don't think Manning should win it, that defense is so strong and they have a decent running game, it's more than just him. Von Miller might be just as valuable as Manning is. They went 8-8 last year with a fullback at QB. I think DPOY should be really interesting with Miller and Watt. I think Watt should definitely win it (20.5 sacks from a 3-4 DE? Wtf?), but we'll see.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 01:34 AM) Maybe, but every title team has a weakness. I had a team that was an epic fail a few years ago. It's not a guarantee but they have all the pieces at the right time. They are fantastic. Can we please stop with the "fantastic" talk? They've played two solid teams so far this year and both games went to OT. They're 1-1 in those two games. Do they look amazing against cupcakes? Yes. But can't we just wait until they actually do something that warrants calling them fantastic? All title teams have a weakness, but seldom is it defense. It's a big reason Roy Williams took a while to win a national championship (and his teams were much more loaded than this IU team).
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 10:52 PM) If IU doesn't make the final four its an epic fail. They have all the pieces needed to win a title. Defense. I still say that'll be their downfall.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 12:49 PM) Or maybe we've found the transitive property to be unreliable. Not sure what this pertains to.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 12:10 PM) Because people don't rank teams based on single games? Uhh, wouldn't putting Butler above Illinois be doing just that? They would clearly only put Butler above Illinois because of the Indiana game. Maybe you were being sarcastic. Not sure.
  22. QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 28, 2012 -> 09:10 AM) I think it's a bit too early to proclaim that. They have only played one decent team and the game went to overtime. Offensively they are pretty sick, although they still struggle with entry passes to Zeller on occasion. I'm just not sold on them being a national championship team until they prove they can actually defend well. They remind me of UNC teams of years past that eventually got bounced because of defense. The two Roy Williams teams that actually won the national championship had veteran point guards, veteran big men (May and Killer-T although Zeller is almost as good as them) and a ton of NBA talent filling out the roster overall. . Just saying... They're a really, really good offensive team, but the defense is very meh.
  23. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 02:55 PM) Not really. Unless they know someone is transferring. Have you seen him play? Everything people have said has been pretty darn positive. He's ranked above Paul white and Larry Austin by people in state. That means he would grade out to at least a top 75 recruit on a site like scout or rivals.
  24. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) Ryan Clady is not going anywhere. He is probably the best LT in football and I'm sure Denver will sign him long term. I'm so glad the Bears beat the Saints in the last game of the season a few years back. Instead of being able to draft Clady we had the privilege of drafting Chris Williams. Lovie loves winning pointless games at the end of the season (last year with the Vikings. Where Urlacher also got hurt).
