QUOTE (bmags @ May 5, 2017 -> 04:32 PM) Yankees for the first time in...ever are entertaining to watch to me. I kinda wanna grab tickets when they are in town. At this point it seems like Cashman has done his mini rebuild right. And they obviously will have money to spend for the amazing 2018 FA class. I call it mini cause it's so much easier with that budget.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 5, 2017 -> 07:09 PM) Canes sign Darling. 4 years, 4.15 million. What a story. He drank himself down to semi pro leagues and made it all the way back to get his name on a Cup and sign a $16 million contract. Hope he does well in Raleigh.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 5, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) trump at least recognizes that every other country's health care system is better than ours, too bad he got behind this disastrous bill rather than pushing for any of those types of systems. The word "great" has pretty much lost all meaning thanks to this guy.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 5, 2017 -> 01:06 PM) I assumed this bill would ease restrictions on requirements of businesses to offer health care. Have you seen that it keeps these regulations in place? Honestly I haven't looked into this bill much, other than what I have heard others say about it. Mine was more of a general comments, if it did help that would be nice. Even before Obamacare, I've had to switch and flip flop between group/individual or providers. every single year it feels like.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 5, 2017 -> 09:43 AM) Basically Greg this affects you ESPECIALLY if you do not have employer sponsored health care or Medicaid. COBRA I have not seen anything as being affected. That is more like unemployment in my understanding. However, it undoes regulations that would now allow employer sponsored health insurance to instill lifetime caps and pre existing conditions clauses. It is pretty difficult to know how many people that affects, as most companies preferred to have better benefits instead of paying out higher wages. I would imagine that the most vulnerable will be the groups like retail workers that saw coverage expanded due to regulation from ACA, this may be a place for the companies to cut costs on those plans. Both Republican and Democrat plans just stick it to the small business owners and employees. Life lesson: Only work for large corporations. Until they downsize and let you go so their CEO can get a raise. 'Merica!

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ May 2, 2017 -> 02:36 PM) That sucks for Crosby, with his history wouldn't even doubt he misses the rest of the series. Crosby went through full-contact practice, is day-to-day. I'm not doubting the doctors, but that just seems crazy with his history.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 4, 2017 -> 12:36 PM) https://sports.yahoo.com/news/jay-cutler-ma...-160311630.html I'm surprised by the lack of interest in Cutler. You'd think some team with a QB deficiency (49ers, Jets, Browns, etc.) would at least take a flier on him. I'd guess that Cutler isn't gonna take a low money deal or play as a backup. He's got more than enough money, just moved to Nashville where they seem happy. If he's gonna put up with the pressure of the NFL again, he's gonna make it worth his while. -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 4, 2017 -> 12:37 PM) Clearly the laws are selectively enforced or just not understood. We bring the harness now because if we didnt have it before, United was going to kick us off. It also keep my boy in his seat.... We flew with my 1 year old to SD on our laps, boy did that suck. The last times I flew, he still sits backward facing in the car, so I thought I should do the same thing on the plane, and the flight attendants didn't know what to do. On one flight, after plenty of conversation and handbook reading, they had me switch it to forward facing then back to backward facing all before take-off. Then on the way home, they didn't notice until after take-off, so mid flight I had to unhook it and turn it forward facing.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 4, 2017 -> 01:46 PM) Not sure that says much, Paul Ryan doesnt have the qualifications to be my secretary. Ouch. Hey Rock, are you gonna let him talk s*** about Miami like that?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 4, 2017 -> 01:25 PM) that was Democrats singing it to Republicans on the assumption that a lot of them will be tossed out in 2018. I hope they're right. I don't know if that's the safest assumption. It would require many Republican voters to select the person with a "D" next to their name, and that's easier said than done. Two-party system FTW!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 4, 2017 -> 11:53 AM) I believe its also under 2 years old and they are in your lap, whereas older than that they can sit in a car seat or an FAA approved restraint device (we use a belt system that goes over the seat). Of course lap children dont actually get tickets, while 2 and up get actual tickets. united actually gave us s*** for our system and tried to get us off of the plane until finally the supervisor read the FAA approval document that comes with the device. We were also sitting in first class and they still did it. I've liked Delta for their regional service, but obviously people are the weakness here and these employees were being dicks. If they are under two, they can sit in your lap if you don't want to buy them a ticket. When we flew with 18 month old last month, I paid for his own seat (with miles), and brought on a car seat. That kid is too large and fidgety to sit in on our laps for 3+ hours. When they are over two, they can sit in a car seat, but they don't have to. Once my daughter had her own ticket at 2 years old, we never brought the car seat anymore.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 4, 2017 -> 11:35 AM) I get what you are saying, but this doesnt even seem to be something that was discussed. And that attendant threatening to have their kids taken away from them, totally messed up if he/she really did that That is definitely messed up and it looks like the attendant was on a power trip. But from what I read, it does seem like the family was trying to pull some shenanigans and immediately played the victim card when they got busted on them.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 4, 2017 -> 11:23 AM) It happened again. This time on DELTA, which is the worst airline I've ever flew on. Never on time. NEVER http://abc7.com/travel/socal-family-thrown...eating/1951238/ Both sides were in the wrong there. The employee was an ass and wrong about FAA child seat regulations, but the passengers were off too, you can't just let a different person fly on someone else's ticket.

My wife was gonna work full time but halfway through her 12 weeks off she decided she wasn't gonna be ready to leave the kid too early so she went in to quit. Luckily her boss offered a part time deal and that has limited our child care expenses the last four years, while she has still been able to work some. And my mom happened to retire right when the second one was born so he has been free so far. And I will be looking into a vasectomy soon.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2017 -> 03:15 PM) Playing on the west coast just kills his exposure. If he were on the East Coast, you'd never stop hearing about him. To make matters even worse, he plays for the other team in LA. There would be more hype if he were a Dodger.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 3, 2017 -> 03:17 PM) Just a prediction- Sale will get suspended without pay, but won't miss a start. But both teams are on notice. Enough is enough. Yup. He will get suspended but it will meaningless. It's a joke. They need to start taking throwing at hitters seriously, it's dangerous.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 3, 2017 -> 02:02 PM) Not to mention they don't have a pen to cover them like they did last year. I always thought their bullpen could be a problem this year, but it hasn't been that bad. Davis, Rondon, and Edwards have given up all of one earned run in 33 innings
-
QUOTE (zenryan @ May 2, 2017 -> 10:11 PM) The Red Sox are looking like a bunch of punks. This is getting ridiculous. Of course Sale had no problem stepping in and leading the way with causing trouble. Although goddamn is he pitching well.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 2, 2017 -> 11:06 AM) Boston fans taunt Adam Jones with racist comments http://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/2017...88c6cbc29215d2a Erik Boland ✔ @eboland11 Sabathia said he's experienced what Adam Jones did in Boston, though not since he's been with Yankees because their security presence in pen Sabathia said in his big league career "I've never been called the N word" anywhere but in Boston Sabathia said it's talked about among black major leaguers: "we know. There's 62 of us. We all know. When you go to Boston, expect it."

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ May 2, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) You shouldn't care about Fox. He might be gone after week 8. He's definitely gone after week 17. He will have almost no impact on MT's development. I am so sick of people being upset about the Bears just because it's cool thing to do. Find another team then. They identified a guy who they think can put an end to a disgusting trail of QB's and we're mad. They tried to build around him but we're mad because they went to Ashland, Kutztown and NC A&T. Who gives a f***? Why should everyone sit quietly and give the Bears the benefit of the doubt? Since the Super Bowl 10 seasons ago, they have made the playoffs once, which is right in the bottom of the NFL, mostly due to the s***ty GM hires of the ownership. They took a chance on a young GM. He has made some good moves, but the team has a long way to go and some moves he has made can be questioned, I don't think he has earned anything to not be criticized. And I'm happy they finally took a chance on a QB, but recent first-round QB have had about a 20-25% hit rate on being franchise QBs, so nobody is out of the woods yet.
