QUOTE (greg775 @ May 20, 2017 -> 01:22 PM) Didn't Trump run on the issue that Obamacare sucked and said he would change the system completely? Yes, he did, because it did suck. And his people did propose a completely overhauled system. Except the new system is infinitely worse than Obama Care. And this is coming from someone who was very negatively affected by ObamaCare

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 19, 2017 -> 11:36 PM) "I imagine Rick Hahn's phone will be ringing tomorrow" - Hawk. It'll be Hawk. "Hey Rick, have I ever told you about when I played with Yaz. Can I tell you about it?" -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 19, 2017 -> 12:56 PM) That is sad. I'm thinking he had to be trashed. If you fell, the first thing you would do is try to make sure you didn't land head first and there should be time to accomplish that. He apparently landed on his head. I think you are right, it was 45 minutes after the game, so I'm sure it wasn't a crowded stairwell or something. If there has been some kind of altercation, you probably would have heard about it. Two young kids he had too.

It's funny how the Reds pitching staff can so easily cure what ails a struggling baseball club. In other news, A 42-year old Wheaton man died after falling over a railing at Wrigley http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2017/05/18/aut...-wrigley-field/

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 18, 2017 -> 08:13 AM) Man, after yesterday, the big lesson is clear: Do NOT piss off the media and intelligence community together He pissed off the media during the entire election cycle yet here we are with him as President.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2017 -> 08:38 PM) Trump, who fired Comey last week, was in the middle of interviewing candidates to replace him as FBI director when he was informed, according to a person close to the White House. White House officials were blindsided by the move, an administration official said. A large group of staffers went to the Oval Office to inform Trump, according to a person in the room, who said Trump took the news better than expected and signed off on the statement his aides crafted. politico.com It's official, if this news is true (Trump accepting the news w/o destroying the West Wing), then Lonzo Ball's dad just passed Trump for most outlandish person in America. Asking for Trump's net worth for a shoe contract (oops, branding deal) that's going to struggle to sell 1,000 pairs. Fox News' plan to ignore the Comey stuff and exist in an alternate reality blew up in their faces in the ratings https://www.yahoo.com/news/fox-news-downpla...-214327088.html What?

Per @ChiTribKane White Sox expect that AAA Charlotte will place top prospect Yoan Moncada on the 7-day DL with a sore left thumb. X-Rays and MRI were clean.

QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ May 17, 2017 -> 03:27 PM) Hawkins was a hot mess when he pitched for the Cubs. The #1 counter-argument to the idea that anybody can be a closer. He was a dominant set-up man for years and years, but just sucked as a closer.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 17, 2017 -> 03:03 PM) Yeah, but I think if you have a second place just for shoes, you have to be a douchebag, even if you're a nice guy. TBH, I have heard only good things about LaTroy Hawkins the person. All I have ever read or heard was that he was very liked around baseball.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 17, 2017 -> 02:31 PM) This is that insane sheriff from Milwaukee who's deputies recently murdered an inmate via intentional dehydration. I had him pegged as the next FBI director.

Do they always play minor leagues games this early in the morning? The disadvantage of travelling by bus vs. plane?

QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2017 -> 11:08 PM) Is this where I get in trouble for saying Cubs have made baseball cool again in the city And they have also priced a lot of fans out of their games. With their new dynamic pricing, you could see a weekend Sox game for maybe 25% of the cost I bet. (That's not criticism of the Cubs, they know exactly how to maximize every bit of revenue and it's the cost of winning for fans)

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 15, 2017 -> 06:20 PM) He got it back. In other news, 2 AFC scouts told Moon Mullin, Trubisky was their highest graded QB in 6 drafts. Higher than Luck , Winston, Marriota, Newton.Wentz.... 2 AFC scouts? Are we talking Patriots and Steelers or Browns and Jaguars? Thats a very vital piece of information -
QUOTE (Brian @ May 15, 2017 -> 11:55 AM) My parents anniversary is in July and they want my sister and I to try and go with them to see it. I do not want to pay to see a show I probably won't be that into. Staged musicals don't resonate with me. Ugh. Hopefully they won't be able to find tickets. I always felt that way about musicals too, but I really enjoyed the two I saw. Granted they were Monty Python and Book of Mormon, so a little eccentric. The fact that it's all live so the performers can't f*** up and try again made that much more entertaining to me. My wife wants to take her mom to Hamilton when she is in town in July. I'd happily go, but not at $300+ per ticket which is the going rate I guess.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ May 15, 2017 -> 09:14 AM) I don't think that's true for face value. My tickets were in mezzanine and I want to say $110 each and then some gaudy service charges. Balcony would be cheaper. You can always try the daily raffle. I know several people who received tickets that way. NVM found in this thread I paid $117 per ticket. I want to say it was $280 total after service fees. You are right, I didn't notice that TM now so openly sells resale tickets on their own. I thought they were from the venue. Silly me to think that there would actually be tickets available at face value.

Ryan Kesler is up to his same old tricks with Ryan Johansen:

So Hamilton tickets are over $200 minimum face value? Ouch, we were looking into them this weekend, I did not expect that.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2017 -> 10:58 PM) So many established, veteran hitters just come here and "die" The curse of 2011 Adam Dunn will never die -
The Royals had two unbelievable comebacks and won seven WS games. The Pirates took the same route, faced Bumgarner and Pilates Arrieta in the wild card game and are now would envy the White Sox. What a funny game.

I can't help but giggle when climate change conference speakers get called out for arriving in a private jet.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 10, 2017 -> 10:11 PM) Long way to go before we start getting excited about breaking some of Kerry Wood's sim records Does Wood hold the sim records? He actually made it back out on the mound for a while, I would think Prior is the King of Sim Games.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 12, 2017 -> 11:08 AM) Which might mean that the Nats won't buy until the deadline. There appears to be zero competition in that division, so they only need to load up for the playoffs. If the last few Octobers have taught us anything, bullpen help is the #1 way to load up for postseason play.
