  1. Penguins lose their 7th straight playoff overtime game and are sent home. In Crosby's 3rd and 4th seasons, they lost the Cup final then won it all. In 6 seasons since then they have only made the conference finals once and were swept. Then again, Ovechkin has never even made the ECF.
  2. According to reports, the Angels are paying $65 mil of the $80 mil he is owed. Not a bad move for Texas, if he still sucks, it's cheap to get rid of him. $15 million, 3 year lottery ticket.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) If I were a manager, one thing I would ban would be hitters going up to the plate looking like they are about to rob a bank. It is cold but it's not that cold. If you are wearing mask hitting, IMO, you are already halfway back to the dugout. You need to block out the temperature. Watching a lot of Jorge Soler? He's gotta have zero peripheral vision in that mask he wears, you can barely see his eyes.
  4. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 02:28 PM) Darling to start. A little surprised, but it's not like Darling played bad enough to lose the job in game 5. Doesn't matter who is in goal, just don't go back to Nashville for a coin flip.
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 01:58 PM) Who was the first to report that Sale went over there looking for a fight? And did it come out last night or this morning A KC radio host tweeted last night that he heard it from a "source" QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 09:35 AM) Nate Bukaty @nate_bukaty · 4h 4 hours ago Was told by a good source that Sale came to the Royals clubhouse in the 8th inning, looking to fight Ventura. This is what his Twitter profile says: Commentator for Sporting KC, Co-host of The Border Patrol on Sports Radio 810, and broadcaster for Jayhawk Network
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 09:20 AM) Now teh door is back open for Crawford in Game 6. Q is speaking to the media around 1:45, I think he is going back to Corey, we will see. If Darling starts and loses game 6, I think it's harder to throw Corey in the fire for a game 7, whereas this gives him a chance to prove himself again. Either way, I'm starting to get worried about Pekka getting his groove back. He had been shaky most of the series, but he is starting to look comfortable and is fully capable of stealing two games on his own.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 11:03 AM) Hitters dont like it, thats all. Not illegal but not appreciated. The hitters feel like if the pitcher gets time to get ready and throw their pitch, they should get the same respect Given the opponent and the recent drama, you probably shouldn't expect him to follow the "gentlemanly" ways of the game.
  8. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) From some of the stuff I read it seemed like Eaton was chirping at him because he quick pitched him. What exactly is wrong with quick pitching? Is that one of the unwritten rules that leads to Brian McCann fighting everyone too? Speaking of, why isn't he on the Royals yet?
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 09:28 AM) More details please. Are you saying that Sale went to the Royals clubhouse to find Yordano Ventura? For what purpose? Fight him? Talk to him and settle things down? Nate Bukaty @nate_bukaty · 4h 4 hours ago Was told by a good source that Sale came to the Royals clubhouse in the 8th inning, looking to fight Ventura. This is what his Twitter profile says: Commentator for Sporting KC, Co-host of The Border Patrol on Sports Radio 810, and broadcaster for Jayhawk Network
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2015 -> 07:44 AM) 8-10 for a Samardzija would be way too much. No way should he get more than Herrera from last week. Even if he gets 8-10, he will appeal it down to 5, and barely miss one start. Score one for the MLBPA!
  11. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 03:48 PM) I'm not sure where I heard it, but I thought the reason was to keep the main home plate entrance at the corner of 35th and Shields. That is the exact same thing I have always heard.
  12. For all you guys who complain about lack of Sox coverage by national media, this morning at the gym I saw highlights on CNN and MSNBC!
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 10:56 PM) I don't understand how someone can switch hit. I seriously can only masturbate with my right hand. I've tried otherwise. It doesn't work. Also vaginas. *words of wisdom from wite* Remind me to never eat at your restaurant
  14. Didn't expect this game to go longer than the Hawks game with the 90 minute head start
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 10:28 PM) I have a feeling this is gonna be a long night again, hope not. Or not, it's a repeat of game 2. See you guys Saturday night at the UC
  16. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) Rundblad can't be worse than Timonen. It turns out that "resting " the entire regular season with a serious internal injury is overrated. I have a feeling this is gonna be a long night again, hope not.
  17. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 04:12 PM) I see things the exact opposite, I think the Tigers are going to come back to earth with their older roster, while I still feel like the Royals are vastly underrated. I see where you are coming from but that starting rotation just does not look strong to me. I feel like they really miss Shields, and the bullpen will too come fall.
  18. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) what is going on with the weather in the midwest man...snowing in detroit last night and a game time temp tonight in the low 40s again? Just brutal. It happens every year, yet we all act surprised. There is a reason pool /lake season is only from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
  19. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) Not sure why he would have the surgery unless he plans a comeback. Not that it will be an easy rehab. So if he retires, that's not something you would need to operate on for normal living? Or is there a simpler procedure?
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 10:23 AM) Last night was the first time he played CF as a professional. I could only imagine if Kris Bryant was a White Sox and they had him play CF. I guess Joe Maddon must be a big dope. Fowler is hurt, Coghlan doesn't hit LHP, but not sure why Denorfia is in LF when he has experience in CF. Only safe assumption is that Maddon has Bryant in a fantasy league with LF/CF/RF eligibility and he is weak in center.
  21. Kris Bryant back in center field today. Anybody in the know think he can handle that full time or is just because of the injury crunch?
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:57 AM) Is it OK to feel bad for Nathan, but happy for the Tigers? Absolutely, but the problem is that Nathan wasn't very good anymore. I know it makes their middle relief thinner, but they are a better team with Soria in the 9th than Nathan.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:17 AM) Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi 3m3 minutes ago Joe Nathan has "UCL tear and a flexor pronator tear. He will undergo season-ending surgery at a later date," Tigers say. Sounds like a career-ending injury.
  24. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:13 AM) I think this bullpen is better than when they won the world series It's more talented and that's not debatable. Just hopefully they can find the horseshoe that was up the '05 bullpen's arse. Sometimes that's more important with bullpens.
  25. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Apr 23, 2015 -> 09:08 AM) The problem with our upper deck, at least initially when there were the extra nine rows at the top, was that the entrance was at the base of the deck, not somewhere in the middle. If you had seats towards the top of the deck, the combination of having to start at the bottom and walk all of those steps up at the rather steep incline of this particular deck was not ideal. It certainly wasn't good in any manner for anyone elderly or over weight. It just wasn't. So with that quickly came the oft-heard maligning of the upper deck, leading to a negative stigma that still has residual effect to this very day. That's the one problem with the Bears 400 level. You can only enter at the bottom, so if you are at the top that's 30+ rows of stairs you have to go up/down every single time.
