  1. If you got 18 minutes to kill, go watch the Capitals/Panthers shootout on NHL.com. It went 20 rounds, longest shootout in NHL history, very entertaining. Although I am disappointed the goalies didn't get a chance in round 19.
  2. Nice try Minnesota, one of these years you will learn how to win on the road. Can we start the playoffs next week? This team is on a roll.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) That is absurd. Wow. Crazy Dodgers...crazy. Right? That's what I thought. He's talented but hasn't thrown 100+ innings since 2010.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 05:30 PM) Yes, never dip your pen in the company ink, ever. Unless you work at a bar, then its fine. I thought it was highly recommended if you work at a bar
  5. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 04:10 PM) Nobody thought Cutler would be so awful and that the offense would regress so much. The offense was supposed to be one of the best in the league. It was throwing band-aids on the defense that was supposed to be the problem. A marginal improvement by the defense with last year's offense and they had a chance. Instead they have scored 30+ points exactly zero times
  6. If I told you back in August that the Bears would win 3 of their first 4 road games, including @ San Francisco and @ Atlanta, would you think there is any chance Trestman would get fired in December?
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 01:32 PM) It was moronic then, and it's moronic now. The Bears hired a fool while Arians, Kelly, and Reid are leading their teams to approval. The thought of Chip Kelly coaching the Bears gives me a funny feeling inside.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) There were some great stats about the Bears versus playoff or potential playoff opponents this year on 670 a little bit ago. That list would be Green Bay (x2), New Orleans, New England, Dallas, Detroit. ** They are 0-6 being outscored by an average margin of 22.5 points.. ** The Bears scored 114 points in those 6 games. Their opponents scored 122 points in JUST THE 2ND QUARTER of those games. **The closest game was the 41-28 loss to the Cowboys; a game the Cowboys started the fourth quarter leading by 28. **The fewest points allowed were the 31 scored by the Saints last night **The average score after 3 quarters was 35-10 **The Bears were within 24 points to start the 4th in only 2 of those 6 games. And within 2 touchdowns entering the 4th just once (down 7 to Detroit on Thanksgiving) **The opposing QB has 23 TD and 0 INT and averages 323 yards passing (Romo was only one not to exceed 300 yds) **Jay Cutler had 12 TD and 11 INT in those games **Drew Brees' passer rating of 137.8 was the 2nd WORST in the 6 games (others: Rodgers 151.2 and 145.8, Brady 148.4, Romo 138.0 and Stafford a measly 116.0) Don't forget about Ryan Tannenhill and his 123.6 QB Rating vs. the Bears.
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 12:14 PM) As a pitcher or outfielder? Both. He will take Leury & Dunn's spot as the emergency reliever.
  10. I'd imagine that just having a year's worth of MLB scouting on Abreu will lead to teams pitching him tougher, and forcing him to adjust. It's not like they even had minor league at-bats to scout, they had very little to work with from Cuba.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 10:07 AM) Emery doesn't deserve to have a job here. All of this is his doing, ultimately. I agree, but I just don't see the Bears firing him too.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 09:57 AM) You guys seriously think anybody would give up even a 7th round pick for Cutler and that contract? There's no way that's possible. Maybe if he were underpaid or halfway through the contract, but teams are on the hook for guaranteed money. I think he'd be much better with a change of scenery, but IMO, he's the least valuable QB in the league right now. It's only two years guaranteed, that's not major. The problem is, why would a win now team like Buffalo or Arizona want a QB that turns the ball over so much? They don't need a gunslinger, they just need someone who can make the occasional deep throw and won't lose games.
  13. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 57m57 minutes ago NFL announces #Bears have selected Jay Cutler as team's Man of the Year, putting him in running for Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 07:33 AM) 2 weeks ago, i would have agreed with you. After last night, I really dont believe there is any chance Trestman survives and I think they will try as hard as they can to move Cutler There were some strong quotes from Emery talking about how mad he was about the Kromer thing, and he specifically said that firing Kromer would have been 100% Trestman's decision, that's how their chain of command works. Given that Emery hired Trestman, I think he has to fire him, or else it's way more likely he loses his job with him in the next year or two, barring a miracle.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 08:54 AM) Has anyone seem what happened in Peshawar overnight? Just awful. Seeing things like that just reaffirms how lucky we are to live where we do in relation to other parts of the world. Yeah, and I always follow what goes in Nigeria, it's just awful, people can't even attempt to live a normal life.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 05:56 AM) OMGZZZ! THAT'S CARRIE WOODS NUMBERZZZ!! I'm aware Kerry Wood gave his blessing. WGAS? (Who gives a s...) You mean the guy who choked away a late lead with the World Series on the line?
  17. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 07:25 PM) When you look at his numbers, he doesn't seem THAT bad but when you watch him every day...lol $2.75 million per home run isn't too bad I guess. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  18. My biggest life regret is buying a Julius Peppers jersey instead of an Israel Idonije jersey. Obscurity wins when buying jerseys
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 05:42 PM) Good chance to advance to the finals in both my leagues. Need 15.6 from Alshon and Graham, should happen Got a 24 point lead with Stills vs. Brees, so if he goes off, just can't completely ignore Stills. Finally a good reason to watch a Bears game! Apparently I am the only one still posting in this thread, but winner winner chicken dinner. Made the finals in both leagues, Cutler to Alshon garbage time has saved me
  20. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 10:16 PM) THere were 10,749 no shows to tonights game. Count me down for two of those. Easiest way to show my disgust with the entire franchise
  21. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 07:16 PM) Alex rios signs 11 mil/1yr deal with royals . Wow that is awful lol morales and rios HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  22. Good chance to advance to the finals in both my leagues. Need 15.6 from Alshon and Graham, should happen Got a 24 point lead with Stills vs. Brees, so if he goes off, just can't completely ignore Stills. Finally a good reason to watch a Bears game!
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 03:14 PM) White Sox have been paper champions a lot of years. I'd like this to be the year they take it. BUt we haven't earned being the favorites. They were paper champions nearly the entire KW era.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 03:01 PM) Do I get to say I'm a season ticket holder, what's the % I should buy in for. I want to really use it against people in arguments. For sure. Nothing better than when someone reading their ticket comes up and says "I think you are in my seat." Then you can just give them the look and say "No, I don't think so, these are my season tickets."
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 03:35 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 41m41 minutes ago White Sox moved quickly. Jeff Samardzija jerseys are already available. Gross. That's easily the last Sox jersey I would ever buy
