QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 02:27 PM) Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 52m Brandon Beachy said he experienced "discomfort" in right biceps. Said he was unable to finish and locate pitches as he wanted. No biggie, they just traded for Zach Stewart

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 01:10 PM) Officials have talked to the travel agents who booked the tickets for the two guys with the stolen passports. They said that they didn't specifically request this flight, and that it was booked because it was the cheapest way to their destinations. I'm betting at this point that these guys just happened to be on this flight and had fake passports for immigration or local warrant reasons. A Malaysian police chief said that the two guys looked like Mario Balotelli

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 08:40 AM) I meant more along the lines of allowing two people on the plane with stolen passports. Interpol keeps a pretty good database, and it's not hard to run your passenger list through it. I would think a country as well off as Malaysia would do this, but I guess not. Also, Malaysia seems to be an odd target for terrorism. There aren't any groups that I'm aware of that are pissed off at Malaysia. Well the majority of passengers were Chinese. There are some groups active in China, there was a recent attack in western China at a train station. Maybe they thought it was easier to pull it off leaving from Malaysia. (If it was terrorism)

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) I'll kinda miss the 6 day marathon. Created epic runs in the past. It was easily the best conference tournament in the country. Now it's just a bunch of mid majors

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 9, 2014 -> 09:06 AM) No matter how safe the aircraft, the aircraft can't prevent people from boarding with stolen passports. That takes people. Given what happened to the aircraft, it seems safe to assume the stolen passports had something to do with the disappearance. But I don't know if it's that rare in that part of the world, they could have just been drug smugglers or something who happened to end up on this flight.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 9, 2014 -> 06:11 PM) Dan Hayes @DanHayesCSN 16m #WhiteSox and A's end in a 2-2 tie after 9 innings. A tie? Does Bud Selig know about this?

No votes for Malaysia Airlines yet? For real though, what a crazy story from arguably the safest aircraft ever. The stolen passports add to the intrigue.

QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 8, 2014 -> 03:48 PM) Blue Jays are probably telling themselves that if Santana doesn't get them what they want, they can get a better pick by offering QO after season or improve upon the lost pick by trading at deadline. And if they pick they lose is really the 50th, then I think it's a smart signing by the Blue Jays. What are the odds the 50th pick even makes the majors? While they need everything to go right to compete in that division, it's worth the risk given their current position. They do have talent on the roster, but if it all falls apart there is no long-term risk payroll wise.

Radek Stepanek is giving Nadal a match in the desert. My wife grew up near this tourney, one of these days our trip out there will coincide with the tennis.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 7, 2014 -> 04:39 PM) The day before the first big snow (around the beginning of Jan.) I put my Christmas tree out in the yard to be picked up. It is currently a snow pile still in my front yard. Hopefully the snow will melt and somebody will still pick it up. We have a specific week where the village picks up our Christmas trees, so I placed it on top of 2 feet of snow and it was picked up. We lined our front walkway with 12-inch high lighted candy canes. At this point 75% of them are visible, but there were times over the last 2 months I forgot they were out there.

EKEY! WOOOOOOO! Sucks to not make the tournament, but wins over Mizzou, Indiana, and @ Iowa are the next best thing. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 11:58 PM) Blacklist is starting to get pretty interesting. Yeah, lots of action in that last episode, should be interesting to see how it plays out.

I love to travel, but I have absolutely zero interest in going on any cruise.

Braun Abreu Pujols -
41 degrees out b****es!!! Maybe this weekend I will finally take my Christmas decorations down. Either they have been fully covered in snow, or it's been raining or too cold.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 11:12 PM) So I knocked out Denver and Phoenix, and I'm headed to Savannah next week. Potential trips the rest of the year: Toronto Orlando Nashville New Orleans Seattle Los Vegas Yosemite Never been to any of the above as an adult. Thoughts? I haven't been to Yosemite or Orlando, but I've been actually been to all the other cities in the past 2-3 years. Also going back to Seattle this September to see the Fighting Beckmans get pulverized. New Orleans is easily my favorite. Between the culture, great food, and party atmosphere, I've always had a great time there. Although if you are looking to go in July or August, the weather might be very muggy and humid. Nashville is a lot of fun, on Broadway there are tons of country bars, rocking country music and serving beer all day/night long. The Predators' arena is also right on the Strip if they happen to be in town. My wife has several friends from there so I've explored other parts of the town and there's a lot of cool stuff in other areas. Vegas is Vegas, nuff said. Seattle is a beautiful city with tons to do, and Toronto is cool as well. I'd say those are a little lower on the party atmosphere list as compared to the three above, but you can still have a great time.

It's funny that in the US kids are expected to be responsible and on their own, while in much of Europe, kids live at home until they are married and that's the norm.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 04:33 PM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 3m Sources: Free-agent RHP Ervin Santana considering a change of agents. Currently represented by Bean Stringfellow of Proformance. That's a name we should be talking about more. He makes so much sense for a team like the White Sox to sign.

Nights like this I kinda wish Columbus was still in the Hawks division, almost always an easy win

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 10:35 AM) It wasn't just that part, it was also the mother saying something to the effect that she didn't want Ted to only live in his stories and that life moves forward. And the part where they said sometimes in tough moments, it's best the truth goes unspoken. which if true, is definitely a weird way to end the show.
