  1. Brandon Meriweather speaks about his suspension: "To be honest, man, you've just got to go low now, man. You've got to end people's careers, you know? You've got to tear people's ACLs and mess up people's knees now. You can't hit them high no more. You've just got to go low." about Brandon Marshall: "He feel like I need to be kicked out of the league? I feel like people who beat their girlfriends should be kicked out, too. You tell me who you'd rather have: Somebody who play agressive on the field, or somebody who beat up their girlfriend?"
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 11:13 AM) Don't miss college? Ugh. I'd give my right nut to go back and do it all over again. Hardly any responsibility, hanging out with friends 24/7, being high or drunk 24/7, young co-eds, etc. etc. That could lead to some awkward moments.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 10:23 AM) The starter didn't get rocked or hurt. The team won the WS. That is the only thing that matters. Ozzie removed Garland in the 7th or 8th inning that game, and still ran out of pitchers. If he did it by the fangraphs book, the Sox probably lose that game. And considering they actually count actual wins and losses in the WS and not theoretical, Ozzie's way was the better way. Just keep in mind if you manage the fangraphs way and pull your starter because he might fade the second or third time through the line up, your bullpen is going to in shambles in a month. One key to that 2005 team was when they had the lead in the 5th inning, the game was basically over. Ozzie used the bullpen perfectly that year. Who knows what happens if the bullpen was taxed because Ozzie managed based on fangraphs. Greg is obviously over the top in his love for Ozzie, but to say Ozzie was wrong or just got very lucky with how he used his pitching staff in the playoffs is ludicrious, and just as over the top, if not more, the other way. When your two set-up guys magically transform into Mariano Rivera, it makes it much simpler to manage a bullpen. It's still incredible that they got such amazing seasons from Cotts & Politte, once-in-a-career type stuff for both of them.
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 09:52 AM) 50 of the 53 players on the Packers roster have only played for the Packers. John Kuhn played 9 games with the Steelers in 2006 Ryan Pickett played 5 years with the Rams. Seneca Wallace is the third player, having played for a couple teams. By my rough estimate, the Bears are at 30, with nearly half of those guys being 1st & 2nd year players.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 09:54 AM) Rumors are that Groce got a silent verbal from someone this weekend. Would have to be either DJ Williams or Charles Matthews. Either would be great. How is that physically possible?
  6. It's just picking winners, not against the spread, but if Seattle wins tonight, I'll have a perfect week in my confidence pool. Don't remember that ever happening before.
  7. To avoid an 0-2 week, I need Lynch to score less than 14 or more than 28. Yeah, I'm screwed.
  8. @BestFansStLouis is a sight to behold after that game.
  9. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 12:07 AM) http://mattcoldagelli.com/2013/10/27/firin...retty-bad-idea/ But we are damn certain that Beckman is a boob and has zero chance of turning this around. That's why you fire him ASAP.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 27, 2013 -> 09:41 PM) They would be paying Beckman plus the new hire. I don't know if they are still paying Zook, but if they are, they would be paying as many coaches as games they win. Not sure if they are still paying him, but good to see that Zook has moved on. http://www.gatewaybankcfl.com/ocala_contact.html
  11. Just watched the first two episodes of BlackList. Wow. New favorite show.
  12. There are Beckman supporters out there? and people called me crazy for supporting Zook
  13. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 27, 2013 -> 12:57 PM) Beckman does not have 1 player recruit even ranked in top 300. The whole class is 2 star Ohio players with no other major college offers. He does not win a Big Ten game he is gone! Ron Turner v2.0
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 27, 2013 -> 03:28 PM) I'm the guy playing against the team with Calvin Johnson. Yuck I'm the guy with Calvin Johnson playing against Drew Brees. We have a shootout on our hands.
  15. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 04:32 PM) Why replace his spot in the rotation though. Figure Danks or Santiago improve to be the #2 starter. Danks and Santiago are already in the rotation. You are still creating a hole and weakening the rotation.
  16. QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 11:31 PM) Not absolutely sure but salty had very little chance of getting him. Exactly and considering what happened last game hold on to the ball and strike out that weak hitting Shortstop
  17. What was dumber? -Farrell pitching to Jay with Kozma on deck Or -Salty throwing to 3rd with Kozma on deck
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 10:05 PM) Laces were in Dan! Finkle is Einhorn. Einhorn is Finkle!
  19. Go Cocks Go! My favorite part of college football is when ESPN pans through the crowd of sad depressed college football fans right after their team loses. TV gold, true reality TV
  20. QUOTE (MAX @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 08:31 PM) Got out of a big jam there, in part thanks to NL baseball, but still. Hope he makes me eat my words. Pinch hit for in the 5th. Not a stellar performance by any means but I guess it could have been worse. I feel dirty rooting for Boston but go Sox.
  21. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 02:13 PM) Their D is about what I expected, maybe even a little better. The problem is the offense has been out of sync most of the year. Their offensive line stinks, a lot of holding penalties and false starts (plus somehow they have like 5 false starts on receivers). They're not a team that can consistently recover from penalties. I'm really worried about next year's offense without Colter, Simien has looked brutal this year. The injuries to Colter and Mark haven't helped.
  22. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 12:29 PM) Why do you have to replace Quintana then. Right now you have Quintana under your control for the next 5 years. We aren't just talking about 2014.
  23. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 09:45 AM) Yeah, he seems like a paint-by-numbers villain (strange accent, unknown motives, highly intelligent, very proper attire/manners, etc.). I enjoy seeing how deep his evil side can go. I like the show too because anybody but Nucky or Capone might die at any moment. Keeps it suspenseful.
