QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 07:22 PM) Did the Rays need to clear a 40 man spot to activate Crain? Some guy named J.D. Martin was DFA today to make room for Crain.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 23, 2013 -> 10:20 AM) I can't do anything right this year. Boldin sat on my bench week 1. Started S. Jackson, Wilson, Nelson, Garcon, and Lacy. Vick and Garcon sat last week. Started Cam, S. Jackson, Wilson, Boldin, Nelson, and Lacy. Gordon and Cam sat this week. Started Vick, Wilson, McGahee, Nelson, Garcon, and Boldin. I mean what the f*** NOBODY f***ING CARES!

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 23, 2013 -> 09:20 AM) Kessel could easily have looked at him and said I ain't dropping the gloves and then Scott looks foolish. Those guys don't just drop the gloves and maul people. Especially John Scott who is a really good guy as well as a hockey goon. Who gives a s*** if he's a really good guy? His fists still hurt and he can ruin a career, especially a star who is about to earn a lot of money next offseason. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 23, 2013 -> 09:48 AM) You don't use your stick as a weapon. That's a good point and that second slash was definitely excessive. I just don't think he's the one bad guy or "coward" in all of this. He was put on the ice to defuse the situation, yet Scott still went after him which isn't supposed to happen.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 22, 2013 -> 11:02 PM) Bears have given up 350 yards to AJ Green and Antonio Brown this year...CB has to be #1 priority this offseason....If Tillman is brought back I'd like to see him moved to safety. Get him around the ball more and get him off speedy WRs. Peanut has never been good against smaller, quicker receivers like Brown. He only matches up well against bigger guys he can get physical with.

I just hope somehow Jesse comes out on top in the end. Throughout the entire show, he has just been hurt in every way, shape, & form and it still continues, just like to see something good happen for him.

Call me crazy, but I'm on Kessel's side. This gigantic 6'8" talentless goon is trying to beat the s*** out of you, what would you do? Stand up and fight him? Hell no. Get the hell away from him anyway you can. Either way, that whole video shows why fighting in hockey needs to go.

Hey look, a Julius Peppers sighting!

Love Trestman going for it on 4th and goal. Great second effort by Bush.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Sep 22, 2013 -> 07:13 AM) FUUUUUU Bears on Sunday Night Football.. don't they know that's Breaking Bad time You can stream the game online @ NBCsports.com. It has like a 30-second delay or so, but frees up the TV for Breaking Bad.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 08:48 PM) I'll disagree with you here. I'm sure most people love the celebration, because they aren't Dbacks fans. I guarantee the Tigers win the division and jump in a pool at the cell, people would be going crazy. I found it to be a bit classless. But, it just further underscores the point that baseball celebrations are absolutely ridiculous. Clinch the playoffs? OMG GIANT CHAMPAGNE PARTY LIKE WE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Win a wild card play-in game? OMG A GIANT CHAMPAGNE PARTY LIKE WE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP. Repeat up to 3 more times. Win the world series? Same exact party we've already done 3-4 times. It's so silly, every single time. First of all, if there was a pool at the Cell, that would be so awesome I wouldn't care who partied in there. Second, I don't have a problem with the celebration for winning a division title. The baseball season is such a marathon and there aren't that many playoff spots, that its a accomplishment to win the division. Now I agree that we can do without the champagne popping after the LDS & LCS victories.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 22, 2013 -> 04:13 PM) Good chance the Wildcard Games are Indians/Rays, Reds/Pirates. The question is, where will they be played? Doesn't matter where the AL one is played, there won't be any fans there anyway.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 22, 2013 -> 07:02 PM) Right now the AFC is 11-2 vs. the NFC this year. Definitely surprised to see this. And one of those losses was Jacksonville @ Seattle, which is one of the most sure things you will ever see in the NFL.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 22, 2013 -> 06:54 PM) Niners suspend Aldon Smith indefinitely That's pretty ridiculous that they declared he would be going to rehab after the game today. Way to show where your priorities rank.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 22, 2013 -> 04:45 PM) Trent Richardson didn't do much (not surprising with like 1 day of practice) but man, that was an impressive half by the Colts on the road in San Fran. As someone who questioned the Colts earlier in the week, I must quote the great TJ Lavin, "The Colts killed it!". Very impressive road win, I did not see that coming.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 09:25 PM) Sox closer has an ERA nearly twice of what Tigers' closer has Where's Jose Valverde when you need him?

What a brutal schedule of games today. The only with two ranked teams is over at halftime. Thankfully gambling and fantasy football give me reasons to watch. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 02:39 PM) Different directional school... He's trying to steal the thunder from Toldeo's big road win. -
QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 10:20 AM) Games like this kill both teams win or lose. And of course they have a day game today. The Indians are going to host the play-in game. Will they fill the park? The stupid roster expansion rules make it much easier to deal with.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2013 -> 09:43 AM) If the Tigers get Cano, there's no reason in my opinion for the Sox to even try to compete the next two years (by that, I mean considering someone like McCann). However, you plan to try and be maturing as a team in 2016 or so when they would be getting old. Wild card?

Who let this guy out the NBA thread?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 11:08 PM) Are any of those 3 projected to start sucking? Seems to me they are still in their primes. We can hope they start to stink but I wouldn't bank on it for a while. Also not to cheap shot Robin, but they have a pretty darn good, LaRussa-type manager. Which means you don't even watch baseball. Verlander doesn't deserve to be in the playoff rotation and Prince is having the worst season of his career.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 10:20 PM) I hate being negative ALL the time but I have to continue a bit longer ... how many years in a row did Atlanta make the playoffs? Detroit is going nowhere possibly for a long time. They are committed to spending lots of cash. Let's see if the Sox get that payroll back up there in an attempt to rebuild quickly thru free agency. I'm hoping but I also could see us pulling a Minnesota and going on the cheap. It's up to Jerry and how much he wants to see the Sox rally in his lifetime when his Bulls are looking pretty darn good. Aren't you the one who started a thread declaring that teams should never give out $100 million contracts? Yet now you want the Sox to spend, spend. Spend.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 09:42 PM) KC vs TEX another good game. I think the royals might actually sneak in there. Hopefully the Sox don't let that happen

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) Marlon and Jordan. Fake drama Probably. f***. Just don't want Frank to win
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 08:45 PM) I think the Tigers vs. Red Sox could be a great ALCS, one of the better ones in a long time. As long as Verlander & Peavy either face each other or don't pitch at all.
