  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 07:24 PM) They better get 4.5 innings in. Tigers may blow this game. Stop hitting, make some outs and get to the 5th.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 04:15 PM) Wow, -283 is pretty darn high. I betcha it goes over -300 by game time. I wonder if any gambler will be the five innings, also bet the game and also bet the over. You could make a lot of money on this game but you'd have to put a lot down to make it worthwhile. I'd bet the over even with a good Detroit pitcher going. greg the gambling genius. At -300 now
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) In all seriousness, tonight's game has to be one of the most lopsided gambling lines in history if Axe is starting. Is Detroit like -450?? Does anybody know the line? My Yahoo app says -283. There is too much randomness in a single baseball game to go much higher.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 01:56 PM) Arian Foster was taking money on the side while at UT http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/e...de-at-tennessee In other news, the sky is blue.
  5. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 02:23 PM) dude, the L is fine and a million time faster than the bus. riding the bus sucks. i wish Chicago had more CTA train routes. There are definitely several chunks of the city not near enough to an L line.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 12:56 PM) Especially if parents/grandparents have odd work hours, they might not have better hours to spend time with them. Can't believe how every major function of the city has declined so much since Rahm has taken over. I guess biking is better. You can spend time with your kids at home too you know. I do it all the time. I'm not saying it's their fault at all, it's the punks who pulled the trigger for no good reason, but I still see zero reason why the kid should have been there at that time of night.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 20, 2013 -> 10:09 AM) There are certainly a lot of parallels b/w Chiefs and 49ers. Chiefs stayed impossibly bad considering amount of talent on roster, much like 49ers. All it takes is an offense that can create more TOP and let that defense play more risky. Alex Smith!!!
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 11:05 PM) Jamaal Charles went HAM. Chiefs have some talent on both sides of the ball. Now that they are finally healthy and they have a pro quarterback, watch out.
  9. Anyone else wonder why a 3-year old is at a basketball court after 10 PM?
  10. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 05:39 PM) Its hard to tell, Richardson was solid for Bama, but when I watched him I never thought "special". IMO Ingram always looked like just another guy, but Richardson seemed "special". 50/50 on those predictions so far.
  11. Dodgers clinch the first playoff berth, so much for developing young talent and not spending gobs of money. Although I find them likable for some reason.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 12:47 PM) Cause they're really bad and rb's in todays nfl are not very important(there are obvious exceptions), load up on picks and rebuild, makes perfect sense to me. And Richardson was picked by the old GM. Maybe the new GM doesn't view him as anything special and decided to get something back for him while he still had value. It all comes down to what they do with the Colts pick, if they don't screw it up as so many past Browns GMs have done.
  13. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 09:41 AM) Where'd you find that out? I'd be interested in seeing what other teams have done... Kinda crazy that 1/3rd of their games were decided by 1 run. If they win half of those games they're sitting at 76-76 Tells me that with the addition of a few new pieces they can turn it around real quick. Here you go...
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 06:52 PM) 33rd 1 run loss. If they could somehow build a decent offense and shore up the defense next year, they can play meaningful games. Get all the 1-run losses out of the way this year, so the baseball gods smile on the Sox in the future.
  15. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 09:30 PM) You must be joking. The AFC Wildcard is wide open. I don't think Steelers or Ravens are good enough to be locks for either spots. Colts were an 11-5 playoff team last year, without a running back like Richardson. With addition of Richardson and a break out year from Hilton, they have a the best shot of getting a Wildcard spot. Not to mention Andrew Luck is looking a lot better this year already. As for the pick, I think it's more close to the 20-22 range. Personally I think the Chiefs, Dolphins, and Ravens are all more likely to win the wild card than Indy. There was a lot of smoke and mirrors behind their 11-5 record last year, but I guess I'm in the minority. Time will tell.
  16. I really enjoy Boardwalk Empire, but sometimes it's hard to follow all the various story lines.
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 07:44 PM) You do realize they get to play the Jags and Titans four times this year, right? I'm a Colts fan, but chances are it's not going to be a top ten pick. I wouldn't mark the Titans games down as wins yet, but maybe top 10 is a bit of an exaggeration. I just know that Luck had quite the horseshoe up his butt last season, no pun intended, and that 9-1 record in 7 point games won't be repeated.
  18. Sports newscaster quotes 46 different rap songs during his 5 minute segment. THis is outstanding.
  19. Expected to see Felix's name on that list
  20. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 05:27 PM) I've always feel he's overrated. I think the Browns are unloading him while he's still worth what they paid for him The Colts are not gonna be a playoff team this year, so it's likely a top 15, maybe top 10 pick too.
  21. WTF??????? Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 4m Filed to ESPN: Browns RB Trent Richardson to Indy for Colts' first-round pick.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 04:44 PM) Every city does this for their folk heroes. It isn't just a Chicago thing. A few places have bigger names to look back on because of their history, but most have as many irrelevant players in their history as we do. Look at Boston. They have tons of championships, yet there are tons of s***ty role players that they cherish like gods.
  23. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 04:32 PM) Peyton Manning could play in the NBA and that team would still make the NFL playoffs. And they most likely wouldn't win the Super Bowl. (Unless they face the Bears )
