All New Soccer Thread ~ All Levels ~ All Leagues

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 07:12 AM) No. He's just not a good PK taker. The pecking order for PKs for the US should be Donovan > Altidore > Bradley > Dempsey While this is very true, (his make vs. Costa Rica was brutal) I still stand by my theory. -
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 10:44 PM) Did anyone hear Jamie Dukes on Mully & Hanley? He said that watching the Bears it looked exactly like Lovie was coaching and absolutely nothing was different. Then he insinuated not only was Lovie fired for a racist reason, but that is also the reason why he isn't employed. Today Laurence Holmes got into a little twitter war with him over it, he was sincerely pissed off about it. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/09/10/jam...nt-than-lovies/ I blame Mully & Hanley for having some guy nobody's ever heard of on their show.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 11, 2013 -> 01:00 AM) I don't see why Mexico can't even get a point at a Costa Rica side that's already qualified for the World Cup? Who knows what kind of squad they will bring. Panama needs a tie at Azteca, which is a hell of a lot easier than the win they probably need before that late equalizer tonight. It's going to be fun down the stretch rooting against Mexico. Two matches left and Mexico can't even finish in the top 2. No one would have guessed that. Oh and DOS A CERO! Anyone else think that Dempsey missed that late PK on purpose? -

Wow, that was brutal, how do you give up a late goal like that at home? Gives Mexico a glimmer of hope for third, but also makes it more likely they don't even make the playoff. Big battle at Azteca next month, I would think Panama will be playing all out for a scoreless draw. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 12:29 PM) Baseball season just that compelling. Haha, that actually is the whole problem. Hockey went so late, then there was no baseball season at all, so it just seems like we are going straight from the SCF to the regular season without a break.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 01:51 PM) QBR is based on when you score your TDs. So since Cutler threw a pretty clutch TD to Marshall, he gets more credit for that than Manning's TDs, most of which were just adding on to their big lead. A lot of people don't like QBR (stat heads included). I would hope that his interception when down in the 2nd half counts more than a less important interception as well.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) Glad they're coming to Colorado again, this time in April. Early enough to catch the end of ski-season for anyone making the trip. 50-50 odds at least one game gets postponed.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 10:37 AM) I wear a Chris Sale shirsey at least once a week. Now we know how Seattle has felt about Felix all these years. I hope the Sox don't waste Sale's best years the way Seattle has with Felix.

So banner-raising night is in 3 weeks. I'm not gonna lie, I don't know if I'm ready for hockey yet.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 10, 2013 -> 12:21 AM) Meanwhile the chargers just blew a 21 point lead in about 10 minutes You can take Norv Turner away from the players, but you can't take the players away from Norv Turner or something like that.

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 11:16 AM) No team is as good or bad as they look in week one. Yes, but I still think it's safe to say that Blaine Gabbert & the Jags will be a major suckfest this season. He's a bad QB when healthy, which he isn't.

How comfortable are you rooting for the draft pick?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 9, 2013 -> 12:12 PM) So you think the Bears have a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl this season? Also keep in mind the prize is much bigger to be that bad in the NFL. This is like a shot at LeBron, let alone the top pick in every other round. If last year's Ravens were able to win the Super Bowl, then yes the Bears absolutely have a shot to win it all this year. You don't have to be the best team, just the hottest and healthiest (and luckiest) come January. -
The experts were too quick to hand Oakland the #1 pick in 2014. Jacksonville is gonna give them a run for their money.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 09:08 PM) Todd's uncle and his gang must have gone to the Harry Dunn school of sharpshooting. "Harry, you're alive! And you're a horrible shot!" Todd looked like he had never shot a gun before in his life, not sure if that was done on purpose

While I would love for your scenario to play out, Cano will never accept such a short deal. Why risk free agency again when someone will offer him a 9 or 10 year deal?
-
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 09:27 PM) This Cowboys D is flying all over the place. Secondary still looks questionable, but their front 7 are killing it. Monte Kiffin gets away from his son and looks like a good coach again.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 09:19 PM) Someone important is going to die in that scene. I would assume Hank and Gomez both die. I can't imagine the Nazis letting them live or all getting killed. Question is, does Jesse somehow escape?
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 08:14 PM) Cutler did get grabbed on the left shoulder when he threw the interception, so it wasn't as "WTF" as it initially looked I saw that, but I wasn't sure if it affected the throw. Either way, he seems to be good for a pick like that once a game.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 08:26 PM) Big difference between top 3 and top 10 or top 15. Neither is going to be a national champion (and I never claimed such). Michigan is one of the 3 best teams in the big ten, potentially the 2nd best. I think Ohio State is better then them and Wisconsin might be as well (hard to judge for certain on Wisconsin but they've looked damn good in their 1st 2 cupcakes). Well the Big Ten is hot garbage so that doesn't mean much. To me, "really good" teams are championship contenders which is where we differ. -
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 08:46 PM) Witten and Murray may end up saving my ass. They made up those 17 pts I needed, just in the 1st half. I'm now just trailing by those 4 Josh Brown points. If I could get 2 more TD's out of Witten/Murray, that should seal it. Wrong thread. Nobody cares about your fantasy team.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 08:07 PM) I think they are a potential top 10 team. To me, that is a really good team. I think ND is a top 15 team. I think I'd have them more top 15 and ND top 25, but definitely don't have them on the top tier with Bama, Stanford & co. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 04:51 PM) Giving up the early goals they did was poor. Offense was good but defense was brutal early in that game. They still beat the 13th ranked team in the world away from home. That can't be considered a poor performance by any means.
