  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) Let's sweep those Indians and kick them out of contention. That will be tough since we are going to see Lee and a red-hot Sabathia, but we can beat any one pitcher at home.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 11:25 PM) Oh, and "Craptain" Kirk is not a bad player whatsoever. Bad players don't get picked to play for their country internationally. Actually, he is. They didn't ask CP3 to play last year because he hadn't really produced last season. Hinrich was on the team because they needed another PG and he almost went to Duke so he and Coach K are friends. Now that they have CP3, Williams, and Kidd, Hinrich wasn't even asked to go. He committs dumb fouls, he shoots too much, when he shoots it doesn't go in, and his defense is solid at best.
  3. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 11:00 PM) That lineup is disgustingly bad. Like, in all facets of the word. Rose is a rookie, Deng is not good enough defensively to guard 2's, Tyrus sucks on both ends of the court, Camby is all defense, and Noah is all defense as well. If we want to score 60 points a game with out starting lineup, than that is a great option. That is SEVERELY overpaying for Brand, especially coming off an injury. Hinrich/Gooden or Hinrich/Thomas could possibly be enough for him. With that said, I am TOTALLY in favor of bringing in Brand. He makes our team incredibly dangerous, especially if you keep Gordon. PG Rose SG Thabo (with BG off the bench) SF Deng PF Brand C Noah That's a team in the playoffs no doubt, and pending Rose's development, that team could be DAMN good. Deng would be fine guaring 2's. Sure, he is kind of slow but with his height and long arms, I think he is a better defender then what he gets credit for. Also, Camby averaged 9 points this year so that isn't ALL defense. Plus, Noah averaged 5-5 in 20 minutes this year. Give him 35 minutes and he'll average 10-10. That's pretty good for a "wasted 9th overall pick in the draft clown". However, I agree on Rose and Thomas. The Clippers will want more then that for Brand and they will get that much for Brand, whether it's from us or another team. Seriously, if you were the Clippers' GM, would you take Craptain Kirk, a bad player, and TT, a long athletic bum, for an automatic 20-10 guy? Come on.
  4. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) I saw that....made me smile. Agreed. The last 6 games before the ASB and the 6 games after the ASB for us are vs KC and TEX. We should win all 4 of those series's with maybe a sweep in there. The Twins 6 before and 6 after are vs Boston, Detroit, Texas, and the Yankees. Unfortunately, the 6 before and 6 after for the Tigers are vs Cleveland, Minnesota, Baltimore, and KC. Hopefully we can be 3+ games up at the ASB and then maybe gain another one during the 6 games after.
  5. Sometimes I wonder how Joe Morgan still has a job.
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) Is Elton Brand at all feasible for the Bulls? Possibly. I heard he'd only accept a trade to Miami, or else he wants to stay in LA. We'd probably have to offer them TT, Gordon, and Hinrich- plus, maybe a first rounder in the future.
  7. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 10:09 PM) Yeah would be a good move for both sides IMHO. Camby's what 34 though, but then you could use Noah off the bench in the Varejao role. Really if this happens, there's no excuse if the Bulls aren't at least in the top 6 in the East next season. But Camby can still get it done- a DPOY candidate every year. BTW- I think they could do a lineup of Rose, Deng, TT, Camby, Noah. And, there is a way- Rose doesn't live up to potential ROY hype, Deng has another 15 ppg year, TT doesn't progress, and Camby turns into Ben Wallace (with more scoring).
  8. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) Liles got re-signed, and Tampa traded a pick for the rights to Rolston, so scratch two UFA targets off the board. Was just about to post this. At least now maybe we can get Redden for 5 and Hossa for 8.5.
  9. QUENTIN ANDERSON THOME SWISH BUEHRLE BULLPEN :fthecubs
  10. F***. Should have either kept Line in or brought in Massett.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 08:33 PM) Get Thornton up in the pen.
  12. Indians down 8-3 in the 9th, Twins up 4-0 in the 7th, KC down 5-3 in the 5th, and Detroit just won.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) It's just one game and all that. But a sweep would follow their sweep at Tampa (wasnt that their last road outing?) and would lend one to believe they are not WS locks. I know, they are really banged up. It also would make up for last weekend. It'd be great. 2-4 for the second straight year vs. the Cubs is not so great. Wasn't that the record last year? Or were we 1-5? It's just one game, but 3-3 is so much better than 2-4. It also would be great for Mark to get some positive national pub and pitch a gem. Go Mark; go Alexei; go Carlos. The old and the new. Go for the sweep! We were 1-5 last year vs the Scrubs, 0-3 at home and 1-2 at the dump. Beat these @$$holes!!
  14. He called Crede "Gold Glove", and he called Wise "D-Weezy for Sheezy" or some BS.
  15. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 12:23 AM) So, I did see what I thought I saw while watching the game.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) Todd Jones IMPLODES!!! This is turning out to be a great night!!! WAS JUST ABOUT TO POST THIS- ROX TAKE THE 6-5 LEAD IN THE 9TH...eeeeeYES!!
  17. Tigers up 3 in the 8th, however, the Twins, Royals, and Indians all lose.
  18. Bolts want Malone and Roberts from lightning.nhl.com EDIT- Bolts about to get Malone and Roberts from sportsnet.ca
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) Now that's the kind of game you'd like to win. Carlos Quentin flexes his muscles. Get this man to the all-star game already. Same with Dye, Linebrink, Crede, and AJP. Only bad part of today's game...Javier Vazquez and his inability to control his pitches. Fixed.
