  1. Renato Sanches looking really good for Portugal. Just 18 years old. Bayern scooped up him from Benfica before the tournament. With Coman and Sanches, Bayern's gonna have a couple of under-20 phenoms next year.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 09:25 AM) Wow an overpay for Jo, hes not half the player he once was. I'd rather have Robin Lopez for $5 million less.
  3. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 08:03 AM) Hopefully the FO can avoid all the stupid contracts, but I get the feeling Gar is going to have an itchy trigger finger. We have to get over the cap floor. We're going to have to give someone a lot of money regardless.
  4. Giants are going to give up the DH and let Bumgarner hit for himself against the A's. Are the Giants' bench players that bad? Outside of his power, Bumgarner's a bad hitter.
  5. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 11:43 PM) 18 mill a yr for Jo?? Talk about serious overpay. Yeah, but with the new cap, everyone's going to get twice the money they deserve.
  6. lmao Avi had a little bit of trouble there at the end.
  7. This inning is just like that inning in KC. Only difference is that we are up more this time. Hey Robin, if your reliever is hitting batters and walking people, take him out. Don't leave him out to dry.
  8. I can't believe this s*** is happening AGAIN.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 29, 2016 -> 12:37 AM) He managed a bad game tonight and got lucky zobrist caught that ball. I'm sure the media will kiss the ground he walks on because the last two innings You have to admit that the last two innings were pretty funny. How many times do you see a pitcher playing the field and then coming in to pitch to certain hitters? It would have been funnier had he gotten burned by it, but it's still interesting.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 10:54 PM) Schanowski wrote in his story tonight that Bulls want to re-sign Etwaun Moore and he'll cost $8-$10 million per year. That's f***ing crazy talk, man. Jesus Christ man... The NBA should have just put this cap increase in slowly. A 20 million dollar raise over one year is wayyyyyy too much. It's unfair for those who had already signed non-max contracts and way too generous to players that are currently free agents.
  11. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 05:07 PM) There wasn't enough Jian Yang. Errich Bachmannnn this is you as a ollll mannnn Jin Yang was awesome this season. Seeing him screw with Erlich was hilarious.
  12. Semien's on pace to be a 3.5 WAR player this year...god damn it.
  13. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 01:23 PM) And Richard's vision failed drastically, maybe Jack knew a bit more about what he was doing even if he was a dick about it. If they had focused on the box they'd be making money most likely already, with the ability to tweak the platform without a rush to market. They may not have the video chat app from Danesh but they'd have a solid stream of cash to support building out a user friendly compression platform. The problem with Jack's plan was that EndFrame had stolen Richard's algorithm and they were going to market first. It was only after EndFrame figured out that their product wasn't going to be as good (no neural-net) that made Pied Piper the only middle out compression company left. By that time, the box was dead anyhow. But looking at how PP was perceived in the show as way too technologically advanced for the casual user, I can see how Jack did know what he was doing. He probably perceived the platform as too hard to get for the conventional consumer. But then again, he basically sold out PP's technology to that enterprise company for 5 years. I think had that not happened, the team would have done the box and then did the platform.
  14. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 28, 2016 -> 09:56 AM) I thought the finale was kinda lame. Same for the season overall. Just seemed to be treading water with lots of obstacles that magically got resolved. A lot of hilarious moments here and there, but just meh otherwise. I mean, it never, ever made sense to me that a CEO would want to make a box instead of the platform given the excitement around pied piper and the incredible uniqueness of the compression technology. In silicon valley culture that uniqueness is worth way, way, way more than some box to sell. Even the VC lady could see how they would be valued differently. Also, they need to drop the whole Houli/Gavin Belsen side of the show. That was such a waste/bore this season. Alternatively, I think its a great move to bring Big Head back. He's a great source of comedy. Yeah this season wasn't as funny as the previous. I don't think they can ever out-do the middle-out handjob algorithm scene ever again. It was more focused on satire in the Valley more than anything. And as some have alluded to in the thread, there are definitely CEOs who would pursue the box since it's a much safer alternative. Enterprise money is easy money compared to consumer money. Jack Barker is making fun of Steve Ballmer-types. I can definitely see Ballmer pursuing the box since it's safer. He did once say that the iPhone wouldn't amount to anything.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 05:30 PM) "The biggest humiliation in English football history...a game that they invented" "Iceland have sent the English FA into a deep freeze" Legendary commentary. Was laughing so hard. Ian Darke is one hell of a commentator.
  16. Hogdson didn't even need to be fired, he resigned.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) The commentary was epic, they didn't hold back one bit. I'm sure Ian Darke is pissed off that his native country is awful at soccer when it counts.
  18. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 03:55 PM) Ben Wallace was pretty big. Pau was pretty big. Other than the Lakers with Shaq and Miami/Cleveland with Lebron, when is the last legit, hall of fame caliber superstar that was traded/acquired? Chris Paul I suppose. Anyone else? It's extremely rare. I'd say Dwight Howard. Carmelo didn't move teams, but if he had, he would have been a big one as well.
  19. There's no way Hodgson is going to keep his job after that. England has a management problem. Even if their talent is overrated, they clearly have a good enough talent pool to go deeper in these tournaments. Not even making it out of the group in the last WC and now losing to Iceland in the Euros shouldn't be acceptable. FFS, we've been better than England in big tournaments in the past few years and they've got 2-3x the talent, if not more.
  20. Goes undefeated in qualifying...gets beat by f***ing Iceland in round of 16. Hilarious.
  21. Just saw the second goal. Joe Hart has been awful this tournament. He should have saved the goal vs. Russia, he should have saved Bale's FK, and he definitely should have saved Iceland's second goal.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 02:35 PM) Brexit hangover? Wales won though.
