  1. That leadoff walk is gonna come back and bite us.
  2. Damn you Joe West. That was a strike.
  3. This is not gonna end well.
  4. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:08 PM) It is the situations he puts them in most of the time Right. Trust me I'm not happy about how poorly Albers and Duke pitched. They failed to execute. But a manager is supposed to put his players in a position to succeed. Having Duke try to go 2 innings when he usually pitches to 1 or 2 hitters is not putting him in a position to succeed. Putting Albers into a situation where he has 2 runners in scoring position is not putting him in a position to succeed.
  5. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:07 PM) Who'd you rather see gone after this, Sanchez or Albers? Neither. Sanchez actually has a place on this team as does Albers.
  6. Frazier scores if that ball gets to the wall. Too bad Davis is pretty fast and cut that off.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:02 PM) Sale's game last Thursday wasn't too bad, either. Just that one pitch to Gattis. We didn't hit though.
  8. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:00 PM) I'm not a fan of Ventura but Cooper makes most of the pitching decisions. I never see him criticized. Robin should definitely have the final say though.
  9. And before we only blame Robin, you gotta remember Coop has some input into these decisions as well.
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:58 PM) No, you use Albers in the 7th when you are up by 3 and the bottom third coming up in the line up. You then use Duke for Santana, Kipnis, and Lindor if neither of the other 2 get on and if they do you go to Nate Jones. It is really that simple I agree, but Robin already used Duke for the 7th.
  11. The last game where everything went right for us was the first game against the Yankees. Recently, one thing or another screws us over in games. It might be the bullpen in this game.
  12. Robin should have let Albers start the 8th. Career-wise, Santana is worse against righties than lefties. Kipnis is better vs. righties, but it's not like he got out vs. Duke.
  13. QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:51 PM) For me it started with pulling Latos with 3 run lead in the 7th at 80ish pitches. I'm fine with it since Latos can go downhill so fast.
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:48 PM) I am confused here... The bullpen fails and somehow that's Ventura's fault? Get a grip people The bullpen failed because he wanted Duke to get 6 outs. Getting 3 out of him is already more than enough. He's not a long reliever. Robin was hoping to use him for 2 innings to save for relievers in the second game. Win this damn game first. There's no reason you should be looking ahead that far right now. Instead of using his best guy after Duke faltered (Jones), now we have to use Jones in a 1 run game instead of a 3 or 4 run game. And unless we get runs in the bottom half, Robertson now has to pitch the 9th. By trying to save the bullpen, Robin made the situation so much worse.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:47 PM) No sink and horrific offspeed pitches You gotta give Ramirez some credit in that AB. He fouled off some great 2 seamers at 95.
  16. Robin's just the worst. He doesn't have the same excuse he had in Texas, which is the bullpen was tired. He simply didn't use his best guy in another high leverage situation. It's f***ing lazy and hoping for the best.
  17. Another hanging sinker by Albers.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 23, 2016 -> 06:38 PM) I said you had to leave him in to get out two lefties, but I just couldn't fathom him letting BOTH of them reach base. And it does seem like eons since he's had to pitch to five batters. Putting Jones in there was probably the best play...because Albers doesn't have the stuff to dominate right now. Seriously. Duke is a one inning max guy. He really should be used against lefties only.
  19. This is Texas all over again.
  20. Hopefully Duke doesn't pitch his way into trouble.
  21. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 23, 2016 -> 05:35 PM) Honestly lately most of his good has just been "right size, wrong shape" or "rocket right at ____" Eh he'll still get guys to make weak contact if he hits his spots. The problem is that he's not hitting his spots lately.
  22. QUOTE (Knuckles @ May 23, 2016 -> 05:31 PM) I think Latos' amazing April is making fans delusional, essentially he's the 4th guy, he will give up runs. Just limit the damage here please. The problem with Latos is that when he's good, he's pretty good. When he's bad, things get bad real fast.
  23. It seems like whenever Latos gets hit, the hits come very very fast.
