Fire Robin. Bring Back Ozzie. Do It Now
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 26, 2016 -> 02:58 AM) I won't comment on what you said because my opinions are well known on the matter and my love of Ozzie got me suspended before because of my behavior in threads about Ozzie. Let's just say I disagree. So you're telling me you don't agree that the Sox underachieved in 2011 despite spending a ton of money and that Ozzie didn't already have the Miami job lined up before the 2011 season was over?

QUOTE (danman31 @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:47 PM) The tournament ends in June so I hope you're not hoping to see them play Copa games in July. lol s*** for whatever reason I thought it was July 3rd as opposed to June 3rd.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ May 25, 2016 -> 11:05 PM) Veteran for both. I need to bump my pitching up a level though. Yeah pitching is too easy on veteran. I play online a lot so I play on all-star. It's definitely a lot harder to spot your pitches than veteran and rookie. Hitting is another story. Even with zone hitting, I find it hard to hit the CPU since they don't get into a pattern as much as online players.

Fire Robin. Bring Back Ozzie. Do It Now
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 26, 2016 -> 02:19 AM) I totally worship Ozzie but he's done because of P.C. He'll never get a GM/owner to hire him. Too risky cause of the bulls*** political correctness era we are in. Ozzie didn't get fired because of what he said. He got fired because of what he did. Which is underachieve in 2011 and walk out on the club before the season was even over.

I'm thinking about visiting Chicago in July to catch a USMNT game during Copa America. Not sure how sold out that'll be.

2015-2016 NBA Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2016 -> 03:32 PM) OKC is doing what everybody expected years ago. It wasn't Brooks' fault. It was not being ready for prime time the first time, then injuries. Now, a totally healthy Westbrook and Durant ... they've finally picked up a force in Adams and got rid of guys who thought they should be part of "star" mix in Harden and even Reggie and get rid of complete stiffs ruining things like Martin. This is what you get ... a team head and shoulders above everybody else. Cleveland ought to hope Toronto actually wins that series cause Cleveland has zero chance vs OKC. It'd be four or five game final. It's OKC's time. Brooks sucked as a HC.

Chicago's Other Ace
It's like this author thinks Arrieta was good before Sale or something.

Interesting study of "live action" in sports
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 24, 2016 -> 07:57 AM) Nothing beats the NFL. Touchdown Commercial Kickoff Touchback (no action) Commercial One play - end of quarter Commercial And you wonder why it's the biggest money maker.

2015-2016 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ May 24, 2016 -> 10:38 AM) I thought one win was just kind of a fluke, like "Toronto has professional basketball players too," but I'm starting to wonder if Cleveland might actually blow this. Cleveland will get back on track in game 5. Toronto will be lucky to have it go 7 imo.

5/23 Game 2 - Indians @ Sox, in 30 minutes
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 23, 2016 -> 11:15 PM) EJ can probably do OK in the NL. EJ has no stock at this point. Doubt we can get Bruce with him as the main piece.

I see Erik Johnson still has the same problem...he gives up way too many homers.

5/23 Game 1 - Indians @ Sox, 4:10, CSN
QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) Or may need more pen arms If it's a blowout for either side, we won't need the backend of the pen.

5/23 Game 1 - Indians @ Sox, 4:10, CSN
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:25 PM) It's truly a 50/50 game. Flip a coin Yeah, which is why I found it stupid that Robin was trying to save the backend of the bullpen for that game. The first game is much much more winnable. The second game has a chance to be a huge blowout for either side.

Sources: Competition committee agrees to changes to strike zone, inten
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ May 23, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) Old IBB process is slow and unnecessary. Give them the base. If you're trying to speed the game up, doing what they did with IBB is exactly what you should do. I know they don't happen that often, but shortening a game by 30 seconds to a minute is at least doing something about the length of games.

Lawrie actually sounds pretty calm in this interview. I expected him to talk a lot faster.

5/23 Game 1 - Indians @ Sox, 4:10, CSN
Robertson's not throwing that knuckle curve in the zone. It's still getting swings out of the zone, but he's at his best when he can get his cutter and fastball over the plate on the first two pitches and then absolutely freeze the hitter on 0-2 with his curve.

5/23 Game 1 - Indians @ Sox, 4:10, CSN
Second game is very winnable. Anderson's been awful this year.

There's no easy out at the top of this order. Don't pitch around anyone.

5/23 Game 1 - Indians @ Sox, 4:10, CSN
QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2016 -> 07:17 PM) Love the pitch call! Robertson's gotta get ahead. I think the Indians are gonna figure out he's gonna throw them knuckle curves to wipe them out on full counts soon enough.

Alright one more. Santana's a tough out though.

Robertson's control is bad today.
