  1. The offense finally woke up.
  2. Britain beats Colombia, which means the US controls its own destiny.
  3. Assuming Brown gets $25 million a year, they should still have around $5 million left in space. They can also cut Whitehair's $14 million cap hit too, but that might be after the draft in June.
  4. I wonder if it comes down to how they viewed the free agent tackles. McGlinchey and Taylor are decent players, but they aren't elite. Edmunds is an elite linebacker, especially in coverage. Both of them got more money than Edmunds and there are still other options at tackle in FA and the draft.
  5. I hope they have a plan for the defensive line. They've thrown 1/3 of their cap space at linebacker. The LB room is the best part of the defense now, but there are huge holes on the defensive line. If your line can't get pressure or stop runs, it really doesn't matter how good the rest of your defense is. They still have 40 million of cap space and more if they cut Whitehair. Hopefully they spend it on someone like Jones and an edge rusher. Then go and pick an OT at 9.
  6. Or maybe they have their mind set on Paris Johnson.
  7. At least he has a history with Jimmy G.
  8. Eloy rifles an RBI single
  9. Eloy does look slimmer from last year.
  10. Yonder wants you to not look at his stat line from 2019.
  11. I feel like the new shift changes don't help lefties who go up the middle as much as lefties that are strictly pull hitters. They can still put a SS right next to 2nd base. They just can't put the 2B in the outfield.
  12. Yeah I'd be fine with Gonzalez or Witherspoon if they're still there at 9. The secondary is probably the best part of the defense right now, but it's still not very good. Adding a top-end CB could help a lot. You could probably move Gordon to slot corner where he might not get as exposed as he did last year on the outside.
  13. I think if Yoan were back to at least 2021 form, he should be hitting 2nd. That allows you to hit Benintendi 5th to split the righties.
  14. Depends on what they do in free agency, but I think they go BPA if they solve the line today with some signings.
  15. Cuba looked dead the first 2 games. Hopefully this Mexico game is a kick in the ass for team USA. They really haven't looked all that interested on offense so far.
  16. If we don't win the WBC, it'll be because the pitching is mediocre at best.
  17. Good to see TA not pull the ball on the ground with a guy on base.
  18. The bobble is probably what cost him there.
  19. Nice play by TA to start the game, but that's gonna get overturned.
  20. Jason is calling the USA Mexico game
  21. TA is playing SS tonight
  22. Man can they just DFA Leury?
  23. There was a video on Sox Twitter of Katz telling Kopech the shapes of his pitches look much better compared to last year.
  24. Cuba advances along with Italy. Netherlands really blew it after starting off 2-0. I think according to the tiebreaker, Cuba is actually the 1 seed in group A so they will avoid playing Japan until the semi-finals. Looks like Robert and Moncada get to play maybe 2 more games.
  25. If Cuba hangs on, they can advance if the Netherlands beat Italy.
