  1. Were they playing him as a nose tackle? He's a natural 3 tech, so moving to a 4-3 scheme should help him a lot more.
  2. Yeah that's the thing. Aaron Banks got 4 years and $77 million. I'd honestly rather have Jackson for 1 year at $17 million for a 6th rounder. If he sucks, you cut him next year with no strings attached. If he's good, you can keep him for another year at $17 million. There are older alternatives on short deals like Scherff or Zeitler, but those guys don't have the upside of Jackson.
  3. The Dayo and Jarrett signings signal to me that Allen wants a lot of versatility on the line. It's also odd that they released Walker because he would give them some of the same versatility at half the price. Packers fans really wanted Odeyingbo apparently. His contract is really more for his potential and versatility than it is for his production. Personally, I'd rather have Sweat at $18-20 mil a year than Dayo at $16 mil. I'm sure Poles had interest, but maybe he didn't want to get that high in AAV.
  4. They can structure the contracts in a way that take up maybe only 31-32 million this year. They don't have to pay Jackson next year, so they'll just kick the can down the road on some of these signings.
  5. I still want them to take a tackle in the first round. I know Jeanty is probably a generational RB talent, but this draft is loaded at RB.
  6. I don't think this is even an overpay for Dalman. I think everyone thought he'd get in the neighborhood of $12-13 million a year. Cushenberry got similar AAV and more guaranteed money last year. And I think Dalman is better.
  7. I've s%*#-talked Poles about not addressing the offensive line the past 2 years and he's finally delivered.
  8. Getting Hendrickson also means you gotta pay him $30 million a year for at least 3 years. That basically makes it impossible for them to make a big splash signing in free agency. You kind of have to ask yourself, would you rather give 4 years and $80 million to Sweat, 2 years and $45 million for Mack (with maybe one of the years guaranteed), or draft capital + Hendrickson for 3 years and $90 million?
  9. Yeah, is it just me or does Poles leave a lot on the table in most of his trades? Outside of the Panthers trade, I feel like he's been on the losing end of pretty much every trade.
  10. It's actually $17.5 million for this year with no dead money next year. I guess for a one year deal, it's not a terrible bet. But I would have liked them to trade for someone who's been healthier than Jenkins.
  11. The baseball gods really hate us
  12. At least Giddey can score more than 10 points a game and fills out the stat sheet. But he is similarly mediocre to when Patrick Williams is healthy and not terrible.

  14. I'm not sure how Rutgers is as bad as they are with 2 of the 3 top NBA draft prospects.
  15. Their effective cap space is -$2 million. They're gonna need to make some cuts. If Kelce retires, they can save $17 million. If he gets cut and re-signs a cheaper deal, they save maybe $10 million? Either way, I guess everyone who needs a guard with cap space needs the Chiefs to not franchise tag Trey Smith. They totally can and trade him like they did with Sneed last year. I think Sneed ended up going for a 3rd rounder. You'd think Smith might cost a bit more and you'd have to pay Smith $100 million.
  16. This game should reinforce the Bears using their top 3 picks on the trenches and not a running back.
  17. I mean if it's between Smith or Bolton they should keep Smith. You can get off ball LBs way more easily. When the Bucs kicked their ass in 2021, they went and signed Thuney that off-season.
  18. They can draft whoever they want at 10 if they get Smith and Dalman in FA. There's a good crop of IOL you can possibly draft in the 2nd round (Zabel, Savaiinaea, Jackson) to fill the other guard spot. I personally don't think Jeanty is worth the #10 pick given how loaded this draft is at RB, but if Ben Johnson wants him that badly, then who am I to judge? One thing I will say is that drafting someone like Banks or Simmons at 10 is also building towards the 2026 roster. With Jones possibly leaving in FA, you can start either one of those guys at LG and then kick them out to LT after Jones leaves.
  19. Watch the Padres get more for him now with one less year of control.
  20. Should have known that they'd pull this s%*# once they got their pick back from the Spurs.
  21. Williams also gets hurt way more than Fat Luka.
  22. If they can't trade Vuc during the best statistical season of his career, then they aren't ever trading him for anything worthwhile.
  23. Matas might be the real deal. He was already playing well the last 5 games and he went 10 of 10 from the field tonight for 24 points.
  24. There's no way the Bears can give up the picks needed for Garrett, pay him his money, and dramatically improve the offensive line. They're already paying Sweat top pass rusher money. You can't invest 1/5 of your cap on 2 edge rushers. That's just irresponsible given how bad the offense was last year.
  25. Joe Brady didn't adjust at all. He's ridden Josh Allen to success and he wasn't gonna stop going with what worked all year in the biggest game of the year.
