Carlos Correa is a Twin - 6 yrs $200M
They already signed one douchebag to a 6 year deal, might as well sign another.

2023 MLB offseason signings and rumors thread
2nd base is easier to play than SS and by all accounts he was at least a decent defensive shortstop. He also played on the 2B side of the diamond on shifts quite a bit, so it's not like he hasn't fielded a ball on that side of the field before. If he were to play 2B full-time he can learn all the intricacies of the position in ST. The question with Andrus isn't whether or not he can play 2B defensively, it's whether he'll hit better than the 75 wRC+ he put up in the years prior to last season.

Booo, this really isn't the thread for posts like this.

Why couldn't Manny Machado have a bum ankle?

Carlos Correa is a Twin - 6 yrs $200M
I can only laugh at Correa losing out on a ton of money, but the fact that he's on the Twins for the next 6 years doesn't make it so funny.

Sure looks like the physical won't be an issue this time around.

Carlos Correa is a Twin - 6 yrs $200M
Is there a chance he gets surgery and can't play much next year?

Carlos Correa is a Twin - 6 yrs $200M
I guess the Twins know more about Correa's injury than the other teams, so they may be less likely to back out than the other teams.

Correa once again falls to the Twins...ugh.

Your 2023 Off-Season Plan
Hahn right now In all seriousness though, I don't think they need another reliever. Losing Hendriks sucks, but they can probably make it work with what they have.

So the Reynas tried to blackmail Gregg Berhalter over not playing Gio Reyna during the World Cup and for his comments afterwards. I don't think the USMNT has ever seen this level of internal drama. https://www.espn.com/soccer/united-states-usa/story/4844539/claudio-reyna-told-us-soccer-about-past-gregg-berhalter-domestic-violence-incident-sources

Jesse Rogers: Sox Sign Benintendi - 5yr / $75M
I hope they're just saying this just to keep Eloy happy about not being a full-time DH.

Jesse Rogers: Sox Sign Benintendi - 5yr / $75M
Hahaha I think Eloy actually does look pretty good going to his left. It's going to his right that he's really bad at. I remember he made a pretty nice play in the Futures game, but that was also a long time ago and he's probably a lot slower and bigger than he was back then. There's also that issue with injuries.

2022-23 NFL Season thread
Trade back from the 2 spot to the Raiders for their first round pick (probably end up top 8 or 9) , Adams, and maybe their 2nd round pick? The 1st is worth 2600 points, the 9th pick is worth around 1350, their 2nd rounder is worth 500. So that puts Adams' value at a late first round pick, which is probably what his true value is given his contract. Raiders can get Stroud, Bears can get a tackle with the 8th pick, a top tier WR, and a nice piece with the 2nd rounder.

Liam Hendriks coming up in trade discussions
He's a nice player to have on a contending team with starters everywhere. He's the perfect type of utility player that TLR probably thinks Leury is. But he is not gonna give you 600 PAs and be a starter at 2B. That's what the Sox need and Guillorme doesn't fit that role at all.

So the White Sox empty their bullpen to get 2 bench players? lmao

Exactly, Murphy is arb eligible for 3 years and will probably make $25 million for the next 3 years of arb. This is effectively a 3 year $50 million deal. Which isn't far off from what Grandal got.

It's fine to wait for things to develop, but when you peddle that your cars are gonna be robo-taxis next year and that you'll be on Mars in 10 and none of that has come close to happening, you don't get the benefit of the doubt. Also, he got fired from PayPal before they got big. He got rich from it because he got to keep his equity, but PayPal flourished without him.

Dude, the last 2 things are basically Vaporware. Neuralink is giving monkeys brain damage and the Boring Company's biggest achievement is a Tesla tunnel in Vegas. Give Elon credit where credit is due for Tesla and SpaceX, but you don't gotta defend him like he's gonna share his billions with you.

Microsoft did a bunch of anti-competitive stuff back in the 90s. Most billionaires did scummy things to get where they are.

That's fair, but I did some reading on this and it seems like he might have re-aggravated the old injury late in the season against KC. He had a metal plate inserted back in 2014 and the plate started vibrating during one of the KC games after he slid into 2nd weird.

Elon's been continuously saying Teslas will drive themselves and be robo-taxis "next year" for years knowing that FSD was only going to maybe achieve high level 2 autonomous driving, meaning there's gotta be someone in the car while FSD operates. Not to mention they're charging $15k for it now and the beta isn't fully public. Not spending $10k on FSD was the best decision I made regarding my Tesla purchase. Elon's basically an owner who says they will sign the next big FA, fail at it, and then say the same thing year after year, only to end up not signing the big money guys.
