Carlos Correa is a Twin - 6 yrs $200M
So how is Correa's ankle a sticking point now but it wasn't when the Twins signed him last year?

Also Liam's trade value just went up. Rodgers was the last decent free agent reliever.

Giants are gonna sign the rest of the free agents after missing out on Correa.

This was more than I thought Comforto would get. Hell that's half of Benintendi's contract and 3 years less. The opt out is worth something too.

Liam Hendriks coming up in trade discussions
Was that from a TV broadcast? Which producer let them put that trade proposal up?

Escobar actually played in the AL before and was pretty good on the Twins.

Yankees DFA'd Luetge to make room for Kahnle. And to think we're paying Diekman $4 million this year to suck when there's a quality relief lefty on waivers...

They gave away Iglesias for free at the deadline last year...if they're actually interested in Hendriks, what a dumb franchise.

The earliest that can come is 2027 right? The current CBA expires after 2026.

The signs aren't exactly pointing up for Liam. I have no problem if they want to trade him, as long as they get something of fair value back that fits the team in 2023.

This is what I was thinking. They're being paid similar amounts of money. Escobar doesn't have a spot on the Mets anymore. The Mets can always try to build a better bullpen. Kelly is wasted on the Sox right now as probably the 5th best reliever on the team.

I feel like the Tigers would have to eat most of that contract for us to be interested.

That'd be some petty s%*# from Cohen. So JR, you didn't want me to own a team...so attached is what I'm willing to pay in luxury taxes alone...

The Yaz and Tucker homers in game 3 did feel very very cheap. Leury hitting it 435 also seems sus now.

He got hurt in game 4. It's not like he was already hurt in game 1.

Is a ball change enough to have games go from blow outs to low scoring nailbitters? Also, wouldn't MLB want the Red Sox to win since they're the bigger market?

You think MLB used a different ball for certain starts?

Bear in mind that the Sox probably faced the best version of that Astros team. The Sox didn't hit that poorly outside of McCullers' starts. And Astros pitching after he got hurt wasn't exactly good outside of a couple of starts against the Red Sox.

I'm pretty sure Jerry would have a heart attack at the mere sight of a $111 million luxury tax bill.

Crazy to think we can have Segura instead of Leury if they had any kind of restraint in free agency last year. That homer Leury hit in the ALDS probably ended up costing us $15 million.

They're the same type of hitters. Lots of contact, not a lot of walks, swings at bad pitches, not a whole lot of power. Segura hits the ball a little harder and gets more singles cause he hits the ball on the ground more. Their Baseball Savant pages look pretty similar. I'm willing to bet if you aged Segura another 2 years he'd look exactly like Harrison did last year.

The more I look at Segura, the more he reminds me of a slightly better version of Josh Harrison. And I don't like that...

What should the club do about catcher?
Apparently the surgery would have only taken 4-5 weeks to heal, yet he chose not to have it. It would have been a 10 minute surgery too. I know back injuries are very complicated (I have bulging discs too), but I really don't understand why he felt the need to come back so soon when he had a dead leg from the herniated disc. We'd still have Reese McGuire had he not rushed his way back.
