  1. I'd rather have Syndergaard. He was at least an average starter last year.
  2. Personally, I don't really like Liam celebrating every save like it's the World Series. Maybe in the moment it feels fine, but if I were a neutral and not excited that the Sox just won, it would feel cringey as hell. I get why he does it, but I can see how people can find it annoying. It's one of those things where you're fine with it cause he's on your team, but if he wasn't, you'd be annoyed. Oldsox mentioned that old people don't like rehearsed celebrations. Liam's is about as rehearsed as there is cause he does it after EVERY save. TA did his bat slam celebration like twice.
  3. I give him about as good of a shot as Grandal bouncing back. At least his injury wasn't to his legs, which you definitely need to have healthy as a catcher.
  4. I'm not sure how much they paid, but he could be a real nice bounce back candidate. He had a 4.5 WAR season in 2021 before he had theoracic outlet syndrome.
  5. I doubt Liam would want to play in St. Louis. He does have a limited NTC.
  6. The Jays are a poor fit for us to trade with if we want MLB pieces back outside of Danny Jansen. They need left handed OFers, we also need left handed OFers.
  7. That Hader trade may have derailed the Brewers last year, but it got them William Contreras.
  8. Oh in that case, probably Quintana.
  9. Cards said f*** your asking price we're just gonna spend money.
  10. Contreras sucks at catching, but at least he can hit.
  11. He should only hit better once he's out of Oakland. He had a 129 wRC+ on the road last year and only 114 at home. The gap is a whole 20 points in wRC+ for his career.
  12. It's not too far off the extension Lynn got. If Lynn's option gets picked up, it's only like $7 million less than this.
  13. For real. All these teams are spending boatloads of money on FAs because they don't want to make trades. Then one of the biggest guys on the trade market gets moved for a package of meh. The most valuable guy in the deal, Contreras, then gets flipped for a guy whose best tool is speed without much of a power profile. Please make it make sense.
  14. Seriously, how did Cleveland not beat this deal? It's not like Atlanta has a good system.
  15. I'm pretty sure the Braves wanted to trade Contreras to Oakland. But Oakland didn't want him and wanted Ruiz instead so they basically flipped him to Milwaukee with Payamps. I'm not sure what the A's see in Ruiz to make them trade a guy like Contreras for him.
  16. Toronto seems to have signed 2 of the best value contracts these last 2 off-seasons. Gausman and Bassitt seem like they're on very reasonable deals.
  17. Yeah what the f*** is this s%*#? There has to be more to this right? How badly are teams overvaluing Ruiz when it's basically a 1 for 1 for Contreras.
  18. Holy robbery Batman The Brewers made out like bandits. They basically got Contreras for Ruiz. Even Baseball Trade Values wouldn't validate this trade...
  19. That return for the A's is not good so far. If that's it, then they got swindled.
  20. At least it wasn't Cleveland
  21. Manaea wasn't even in the starting rotation for the Padres in the playoffs. His stuff decreased a lot as the season went on. Similar to what happened with Clevinger. The difference was that Clevinger was coming off TJS and Manaea wasn't. Him wearing down as the season goes on has kind of been a theme with him.
  22. With those numbers and his defense Kepler is easily a 3 WAR player. And that's if he doesn't get his power back.
  23. Does that take them out of Brantley and Conforto?
