I called Clevinger before it was announced, does that mean I'm a trustworthy source now?

He was still pretty good on the Pirates and I don't think their defense was any better than ours.

Hendriks has to have value with how much relievers are getting paid. Liam is probably twice the reliever Jansen is.

I'd much rather sign Quintana than Clevinger.

Cody Bellinger to the Cubs
I'd rather have Bogearts if he and Swanson end up costing about the same.

Cody Bellinger to the Cubs
Cubs are gonna sign a bunch of 2 WAR players and the Chicago media just eats it up. Swanson was a 6 WAR player last year, but moving forward, he's probably more of a 3-4 WAR player.

Cody Bellinger to the Cubs
The Cubs have seemingly been good at getting a lot of value out of their cheap bullpen signings. Robertson, Martin, and Givens were all guys they flipped after signing to cheap contracts. But yeah, they need a SS, a 1B, at least 1 more starter in addition to Stroman, Steele, Hendricks, and Sampson/Wesneski. They'd need a lot of stuff to go right for them though. As is, they're probably a 72 win team.

Cody Bellinger to the Cubs
They'd need Bellinger to get back to MVP form if they want a shot at the playoffs.

Goldilocks baseballs
I knew there was something odd with those special balls Judge got during his run for 62 homers.

That site has a lot of dumb edge cases you can exploit to make "fair" trades even though there's no way they can occur IRL. I feel like their model does not value superstar players correctly. Baseball is not just a game of surplus value. An elite 5-7 WAR player getting paid $35 million a year should not be considered neutral surplus value. 7 WAR players don't grow on trees. You also can't just spread his money to 7 different 1 WAR players and consider it the same since roster spots also have value. I feel like the tool is a good place to gauge general value for mid and low market players, but they have no way of actually calculating the true value of a guy like Machado, Harper, Tatis, etc.

Not to mention that without Judge, the Yankees are probably a wild card team last year at best.

That guy laid out his entire contract structure with all the incentives. I think I've seen some of his videos on YT.

Eovaldi also isn't that good and had arm issues lat year.

It's because Lux has twice the amount of control and he's dirt cheap the next 2 years. Gleyber is estimated to be paid $24 million these next 2 years.

Wow Torres really doesn't have a lot of surplus value does he?

The better question is this: is Josh Bell the brother in law of any superstar players?

I read that and any ounce of optimism I had about this off-season just went out the window.

It's fitting that Correa might just end up being an expensive mercenary you hire for 1 or 2 years.
