  1. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 11:18 AM) Sooo...There's WAR in basketball now I guess....WAR says Jimmy Butler> Lance Stephenson, and Lance is not a "lockdown defender". DRPM has both Jimmy and Kirk better defensively. I have no clue what the hell any of that means, but it's still a little interesting to me. I'm still a bit unsure of how good RPM is.
  2. This is about as open as the East ever will be. I doubt the Bulls can win it all next year, but I like our chances of reaching the Finals.
  3. I wonder how much teams would bid for him. Scola only got like $3 million when he got amnestied and he was a much better player than Boozer at the time.
  4. I read today that Morey let Parsons walk when he had a $1 million team option for next year so he wouldn't be a UFA in 2015. Boy that looks bad now.
  5. I wonder if Cleveland will sign Ray Allen. Allen was rumored to follow LeBron, but I haven't heard anything since. If Cleveland doesn't want him for whatever reason, the Bulls should take a look.
  6. If McDermott or Mirotic turn out to be as good as they've been advertised, you can bet the Bulls would trade Gibson or Dunleavy for a SG before the trade deadline.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 02:57 PM) Question: Would you trade dunleavy to Denver for Nate Robinson, coming off of an injury, and creating a hole at SF? No. I think people need to realize Dunleavy is a solid player. Maybe not starter material on a championship contender, but he's solid in most aspects of his game. He'll give you 10-11 points a game on efficient shooting and he'll play, at the very least, average defense. He works best in a system like the Bulls' where rotations are very important.
  8. Conor's defense has been pretty bad this year. Of the 157 balls hit to him in his zone, he's made plays on 104 of them for a zone rating of .662. Not good. This leads to a DRS of -9, which I'm sure is one of the worst among all ML 3B. UZR doesn't like him either at -5. He was slightly below average last year, but it looks like he's taken a turn for the worse. I wouldn't put too much into half a season of defensive metrics though.
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 07:14 PM) What would you expect his BABIP to settle at in the long-run? Probably around .320-.330 since he hits a lot of line drives.
  10. .370 BABIP. Sell high.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 06:54 PM) So sick of "if Rose is healthy" this team is whatever. Rose has to be more than just healthy. He has to be healthy and dominate. We all saw how bad he looked at the start of last year. Now add another year of rehab/rust/etc to that. That's why him playing in the FIBA World Cup is so important. It's a nice measuring stick for how his recovery will go.
  12. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) I'd be okay with that. Use the TPE gained in your S&T for Gasol and then you use the MLE on Mirotic and use Hinrich's bird rights to resign him, thus giving you the BAE still. This way you add Mayo (and his contract) + a BAE that could give you a point guard. This sort of creative move would be great, but prepare to give up some picks or something to make it worth the Bucks while (does free up future cap for Bucks while ties down our cap, which doesn't matter). Bulls still stay well below luxury tax but might get in a tough spot when it comes to reinking Butler. Yeah, Mayo is making an inflated $8 million, which is way too much for him if you ask me. Only reason to do it is to get something useful for Boozer.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 04:55 PM) I would love Jordan Crawford but do not see a way to get him. He was pretty damn good for Clips. I think you mean Jamal. Jordan Crawford is very available and can be had for fairly cheap.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 04:54 PM) Please google image search for OJ Mayo. When the hell did he become fat?
  15. We should get Jordan Crawford so he can tell Melo that KG f***ed his wife.
  16. Bucks are $13 million under the cap. Any chance we can trade Boozer for OJ Mayo?
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 04:19 PM) Didn't see this reported. Shouldn't surprise anyone that we at least reached out to the agent. Silvy@WaddleandSilvy Today's guests: @ramonashelburne 3pm. She reported that the #Bulls met w/ Lebron's agent. @NickFriedell 5pm. Well, they at least tried. LeBron wasn't going anywhere but Cleveland. Nothing could have changed his mind.
  18. Randolph will be traded to Orlando along with 2 second round picks.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 12:06 PM) I was in Cleveland this weekend for the Sox series. People were chanting his name on the street, yelling it from cars and selling the most ridiculous shirts. There was "The Return" shirt, "For6iven", "The Kingdom Restored" and a mesh of Lebron's face with the Chief Wahoo logo (Yep, really). It was nuts. Those Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism videos d it right...their economy is based on LeBron James.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 11:48 AM) The Bulls need to get creative here and get some ballers who can put the ball in the basket. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pa2wc5k Give them enough picks here to make the move worthwhile on their end. Should leave us within the cap assuming you dump Dunleavy. Probably unrealistic. Probably cap stupid and wrong. But whatever. I'm too busy at work today to do match. Hell, the trade machine might even be wrong for all I know. /useless post I doubt the Sixers would trade Wroten.
  21. Gasol getting 3 years $22 million per Wojnarowski. Not real excited about Gasol getting 3 years. :\
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) Sam Smith article indicated Hinrich took less then BAE. No one knows the money situation for certain yet though. Hinrich got 2.7 million.
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 06:57 AM) Same here. Along with throwing bats. It seems pitchers are sensitive to batters hitting up the middle in our league. I don't do it unless I have no choice but to try it but some pitchers feel like every batter should apologize for going up the middle. If we are up a lot, we don't do it. We were getting killed one game and the other team kept hitting it hard back at our pitcher and we were getting pissed. They kept saying that's how they play but when you're up 15 in the 5th, I don't see a need for it. Try and hit it elsewhere. Teams complaining about hitting middle once or twice annoys the hell out of me. It's not like everyone can control where they hit the ball. One of the teams we played on Saturday got pissed at us because we hit one off their pitcher's foot. I mean, this was a shot, but it clearly wasn't intentional (we apologized right after). We then hit a grounder up the middle that bounced and the pitcher couldn't handle. We got two of our bats taken away because the pitcher couldn't handle the ball or get out of the way. So they then take the next two innings aiming at our pitcher. They had guys who would wind up and act like they're going to hit the s*** out of the ball right up the middle. Talking about how they need to get us back for those two we hit up the middle. Seriously, stop acting like you're 5. We didn't do it on purpose, but once you start doing it on purpose, you're the ones at fault.
  24. I don't think we could have wished for better results from Abreu. .292/.342/.630 at the break with 29 homers. Amazing.
  25. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 08:41 PM) McDermott, sensing height advantage over Gary Harris, posts him up, grabs a foul and makes both free throws. He's a smart guy. Good basketball IQ. All 3 guys the Bulls brought in this off-season have good basketball instincts.
