What would really piss me off is if they don't get rid of Boozer (via amnesty or trade) and don't pursue any free agent wings.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 12:57 PM) Explain to me what else they could have done to get Melo to choose Chicago over NY? You also have no idea what really went on behind the scenes. As far I as know they tried to explore every avenue they could. As far as I know, you and I know absolutely nothing about what actually happened. In the end, it's about the result and the result was they couldn't land the big fish.

If this was 3 years ago, I would have been really excited about Pau. But he's just not the same player he was in his prime. Not even close. Pau hasn't been that much better than Boozer in the last two years. Bringing Mirotic over should be nice though. We finally have something on this year's team we hadn't had the past few years: depth and lots of it, especially in the front court. I'd love to keep DJ for the BAE as well. He'll be a nice security blanket for Rose and can come off the bench as some instant offense.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 12:43 PM) Whateves....still going to be a great team. It all hinges on Derrick, really. That's why Melo would have been so awesome. Derrick can take his time to get back and we'd still be a great team. Hell if Derrick got hurt again, it'd still be a great team. But now it's all on Rose.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 12:42 PM) T-mac Grant Hill Duncan Gasol (prime version) Kobe KG LeBron Wade Bosh Melo etc etc etc Bulls just cant close. Ever. The only big free agent we ever got was Ben Wallace and he sucked after one year. Ugh.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 12:33 PM) This is why it hurts that the Bulls waited so long to be aggressive. We put that clown on the side of the United Center. The Knicks' move for Phil was indeed a back-breaker. The Bulls should be offering picks, McBuckets, etc to get Love, but they'll go back to being the Bulls. Gasol I like, but I'd prefer Lance to Ariza. You just know we're going to wind up with Ariza. Hopefully the Cavs don't get Love so the East can be somewhat open next year, though we all know Cleveland is going to dominate. Melo chooses the money, and Phil didn't cave. So disappointing. Getting Ariza would suck. I already know what kind of numbers he'll put up...and they won't be what they were last year. No Luol, no Ariza. I'd rather just keep Dunleavy. And this whole S&T thing with the Lakers just seems sad. Just amnesty Boozer's ass already. Nobody wants him.

It's over. Can't say I'm surprised. While we're on the win-now train, why not go after Paul Pierce?

I just came to the sudden realization that this Bulls FO isn't creative enough to get any of this s*** people on RealGM are thinking of done. Therefore, I'm going to bed.

If the FO gets both Gasol and Anthony without losing one of Butler or Taj, I will forever refer to John Paxson as HeisenPax.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 02:10 AM) Things I've learned the last week or two: the NBA salary cap and it's rules make almost no sense. I'm so glad MLB doesn't have a salary cap. Especially a soft salary cap with a million different exceptions.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 01:57 AM) The score reporting it's for the MLE. Which would almost seal Melo to the bulls with a sign and trade involving Taj. Otherwise there's no reason to make that move. Nobody has said it's MLE other than that guy on CBS Radio. BTW, that's not the Score, that's CBS Sports radio.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 01:48 AM) Amazing how much the bulls real gm forum is exploding at 2am. Ha, it's Saturday. I usually stay up till 3 or 4 on the weekends. They have a few international posters as well, so it's like morning for them. Plus, some of those guys over there are crazy about the Bulls.

2014 FIFA World Cup
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 08:59 PM) Neither was Mexico's goalie, at least one of those two should have made it. Costa Rica's goalie deserved his place, the German goalie is outstanding but hasn't had to do that much this tourney, and I don't know why Argentina's goalie made it. And I can't believe they still have a 3rd place game. Romero's only given up 3 goals for the entire tournament. Most importantly, 0 goals in the knockout rounds. He was also great in PKs against the Dutch. Navas deserves it, he carried that Costa Rica team into the quarters. Neuer is one of the best in the world, so I don't see why he doesn't deserve it. Germany has only given up 3 goals all tournament as well. We're biased towards Howard. He was obviously awesome, but that doesn't mean other keepers didn't perform just as well, if not better.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 04:47 PM) I almost feel bad for Miami. They are going to be cap strapped/no draft picks/and 7-8 seed. Haha, actually I feel awesome! That's hilarious! hahahahah oh my god. Seriously. I can't pity them whatsoever. Their fans suck and they gamed the system 4 years ago to assemble a super team.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 04:46 PM) It'll be interesting to see what Bosh does with out LeBron there. He'll dominate the ball more. Probably average 20 a game. He's now the big dog in Miami, assuming Wade keeps declining. In a way, it's a good deal for him. He would have been the third wheel in Houston (again).
