  1. Jo with a triple double. Atlanta's coming back though.
  2. Jo with a behind the back assist to Butler. One assist away from a triple double.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 11, 2014 -> 12:45 AM) Apparently Bulls and Knicks talking about Melo deal. The rumored deal at RealGM was Boozer, Kirk, Butler, 3 1sts, Snell for Melo, Felton, Shumpert. Take out Shumpert/Butler swap and you got a deal. Otherwise, only 2 firsts. Why is Felton in the deal...?
  4. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 08:22 PM) I'm not really a fan of the deal. Last year was heads and shoulders above any of his previous 2 full seasons. He improved by 1 win from his freshman to sophomore year, and then he improved by 3 wins last year. That's a gigantic spike. And due to his .371 BABIP. Most of his numbers stayed the same in 2013 versus 2012, except his average spiked 60 pts, and his BABIP spiked 70 points. I don't think Freeman is truly a 5 WAR player. I'd put him more around 3 wins. At $17M a year, he needs to be about 3.5 WAR every year. It's doable, but you usually expect to get a bargin when you buy out 3 years of a players arbitration. He is getting paid as if he was a free agent yesterday. Fair market value, but not something I'd give to a player with 3 arb years left. I feel as if Freeman doesn't have enough power to justify a huge contract. He's a good hitter, but until he gets his ISO above .200, I don't see him as a premier hitter at the 1B position.

Glad to see Carl's gone back to being super annoying.
  6. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 9, 2014 -> 08:34 AM) I used to use the free version of LogMeIn. However, it is no longer free. I mainly used it to remotely access my Grandma's computer (Win XP) and occasionally my Mac at home. Does anyone know any free alternatives? MS has a Remote Desktop app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...oft.rdc.android It obviously won't work for your Mac though.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 8, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) It always seemed to me that was the thing its users liked the most about it. I think the problem was that by its nature, HTML editing or not, it became something that adults would never like...and unfortunately its user base starting approaching adulthood. We're already seeing with Facebook that you can't own a single age demographic across generations when it comes to social networking, it seems. When MySpace was popular, I just started high school and back then, doing all that s*** to your page was awesome. But eventually it got too crazy.
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 8, 2014 -> 07:26 AM) Facebook's new app Paper is pretty good, at least on IOS. I don't think anyone would disagree that G+ is a leaner/meaner product than Facebook, and the things it does it does very well, unlike FB, which is more of a jack of all trades/master of none. But when you look at it that way, it's easy to have a limited product do it's limited actions much better than a vastly larger product like Facebook. In the end, G+ is just a limited version of FB, and the most important commodity in these services is the community, which just isn't there. Oh, and I'm not really a huge fan of Facebook either, but that's where the people are, and without people, these services are useless. Facebook grew organically, because people WANTED to be a part of it, whatever it was that FB had that caused people to do that, G+ is missing it. Most of it's growth thus far wasn't organic, it was forced by Google, which led to most of the G+ accounts that exist to go unused or ignored. Paper does seem nice, but I think that's the first mobile app FB's made that people have actually liked. The FB app has always been kind of "eh" on iOS and Android (Android specifically). It's not a great app, but you kind of need to use it if you have FB.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 8, 2014 -> 10:09 AM) Facebook really exploded because of college students latching onto it as a better way of sharing their experiences than MySpace. I can't really recall what features Facebook had that MySpace did not, but that organic growth took place on college campuses and spread like wildfire. If you really want a social networking product to reach a community, you've got to convince those in the best position to utilize it that it's the best product out there. I think Google+ is just trying to supplant something that has too strong roots at this point. MySpace became a total clusterf*** with all the HTML editing you can do on their pages.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 10:47 PM) Yeah, I would love Google+....if only anyone used it. Google+ is pretty much a Google/tech news reader. Oh and I also use it to get beta versions of apps. That's about it. I actually do talk to friends on Hangouts though, it's one of the few major video services that allows you to do multi-person chats for free.
  11. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 10:22 AM) Are you crazy or something? You aren't supposed to question anything Google does on the Internets. Their army of unpaid lemmings will relentlessly attack you. Oh, and you should sign up for G+, it's really awesome, and wayyyy better than FB. Only it's not. But it is. Only it's not. Google+ actually does quite a few things better than FB. Their photo editor, auto-backups, Google Hangouts, just to name a few. I'd be more inclined to use it if other people actually use it though. Using G+ on Android makes a lot of sense since the FB app is utter crap. It's ugly, it runs a billion services in the background that'll drain your battery, and it's fairly slow. There's a few 3rd party clients that are way lighter, much better looking, and less resource intensive. I personally use Klyph. But since FB's API is...well...lacking, the app doesn't have all the functionality the FB app has.
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 10:17 AM) But you must have gmail open, which defeats the purpose. Oops didn't see that part. I use an app called PushBullet that mirrors all my notifications to Chrome, so whenever I get email, text, FB message, etc on my phone I get it on my desktop as well. And if you don't care for that, there's numerous Chrome extensions that are way better than Google's Gmail notifier: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/c...ljbihmemj?hl=en
  13. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 7, 2014 -> 09:21 AM) So google got rid of gmail notifier? That's annoying. There's notification system in Chrome now. New emails should pop up for you. https://support.google.com/mail/answer/1075549?hl=en
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Feb 6, 2014 -> 11:43 AM) I'm waiting for the anti-American blog post (from an American) for our unwillingness to see how spoiled we are by complaining about all of the Sochi problems. I caught a small reference to it with the toilet paper in the basket picture (that's common in most of the non-Western part of the world apparently) on Gawker. Same with packed-like-sardines hotel rooms. This is an international event. If you can't accommodate people correctly (it doesn't matter what country they come from), then why the hell did you bid for it in the first place? At least China tried to make a good impression on people when they hosted in 2008 (and that's what you kind of have to do if you're a developing country hosting the games). It doesn't seem like Russia's trying at all.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 5, 2014 -> 08:52 AM) Goran Dragic has been a freak and quite possibly the best healthy point guard standing in the NBA. Kinda amazing how far he's come since being dunked on by Rose. He's drastically improved this year and has been improving for the past 3.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 01:42 PM) Holy f*** the Dodgers have a PECOTA projection of 98 wins. That is typically a very conservative system. Yeah 98 is very liberal for PECOTA.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 01:17 PM) I have done sober taste tests of Coors and Keystone. You can't tell the difference. It's all a placebo effect. I haven't had Keystone in like two years, so maybe I don't remember the taste anymore.
  18. Are all Russian bathrooms like this?
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 12:51 PM) Do you drink Coors Light? Because it's the same thing but a lot cheaper It's not the same thing. Same beer family, but not the same. If internet rumors can be believed, then Keystone is made from leftover Coors. But at the same time, you'll also find people talking about how Coors and Keystone are the same thing, just different cans since Keystone cans are dented. Either way, from my experience, Keystone tastes like water and Coors tastes a little less like water and more like beer.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 12:40 PM) Guys, can we just keep making fun of yellow water and semen in this thread and not go all filibuster on it!? I'd rather drink dat yellow water than Keystone Light.
  21. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 12:29 PM) I was using North Korea as a reference point... it's the lowest on the scale. Russia is only 20 points higher. Ah Ok. Yeah, I definitely wasn't aware that Russia was that corrupt. It seems pretty hard to have such a high level of corruption when you're a country with open elections.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 12:30 PM) China isn't corrupt, it's just lacking in human rights. It's easy to get stuff done when the government can do what it wants, when it wants. No, it is very corrupt. People bribe officials with gifts and money all the time. Of course it's looked down upon, but it doesn't mean it isn't done. People who work as officials in the Chinese government don't make a lot of money, but most of them live a lavish life style with numerous houses and cars. How do you think it got that way?
  23. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 12:26 PM) Brazil is ranked 72nd with a score of 42. By comparison... Rank - City (score) 1- Denmark (91) 14 -United Kingdom (76) 19 - United States (73) 127 - Russia (28) 175 - North Korea (8) Pyeongchang is in S. Korea. The thought of having any sort of major sporting event in N. Korea makes me cringe.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 4, 2014 -> 11:09 AM) You forgot the green. I'm serious. I didn't remember anything like this during the Chinese Olympics and I'd think Russia is a little less corrupt than China and could actually get something done. Edit: NVM, I was wrong. The PRC is somehow less corrupt than Russia. http://www.transparency.org/cpi2013/results
  25. I had no idea Russia was this incompetent.
