QUOTE (Baron @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 02:17 PM) Texas Ranger announcers apparently have no idea why we traded Rios Jose Abreu. That's the reason.

Matt Lindstrom is the closer
He did close before, so that makes some sense.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) http://www.thesportsdesignblog.com/2011/05...olors-by-sport/ Color schemes by teams in NFL/NBA/MLB I never realized how boring the MLB is in terms of color.

Not a fan of Gillaspie hitting third. I think Robin's putting too much weight into the handedness of his hitters. I'd much rather have someone like Garcia (or hell even De Aza) in that spot.

Sox claim Javy Guerra
Guerra closed for the Dodgers in 2011. He could be the closer if Jones doesn't do the job.

Sox claim Javy Guerra
Guerra was pretty good in 2012. He'd be a nice add.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Mar 26, 2014 -> 12:38 AM) still a long way to go. i didn't forsee Brooklyn getting into the race either. The Bulls' schedule is pretty easy the rest of the way. Beating the Pacers was big. If they can beat Portland tonight, they have a shot at 50 wins.

2014-2015 NFL Football thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 26, 2014 -> 10:03 AM) He's obviously getting older, but I think 2 years in we'll be solid. Last year vike's O was so bad he was on the field a lot, and I'm guessing saw more run plays. Despite all that he got 11.5 sacks last year. I hope we get double digit sacks from him but 8.5 to 9.5 plus lots of pressure is fine with me. He's probably going to play 70% of the snaps. The Bears aren't just going to let Willie Young sit for 90% of the time.

While I do think Allen's regressing, he's an upgrade over Peppers at half the price (if we would have kept Peppers). I'm assuming only the first two years of the contract are guaranteed ($15.5 million over 2)?

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 08:23 AM) Last solicitation I'll put on here - several posters in here could easily contribute to my young blog, Getting Things Tech. The "concept" so to speak is to "get" your tech in the sense that we help non-geeks understand their gadgets. On the flip side, there is also the aim to use tech as a productivity tool, to get things done. This can take a lot of different forms and so far I've been contributing a few different things: some tutorials on things broadly and narrowly useful, app/software recommendations, distilling tech news into something that might seem more relevant to regular people, and buying guides to help people make decisions on their tech purchases. I have an interest in making a lot of privacy content, but you need not. Blog is new and there is no commitment. Built on Wordpress, if you're familiar with that. I am in the process of monetizing, but there is no certainty I ever get my investment back, let alone be able to compensate writers, so view this as a hobbyist venture -- however, if we do generate revenue, I would eagerly spread it to the writing talent. Eh, I would, but I just don't think I have the time.
