  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 22, 2014 -> 09:20 AM) As awful as the Pro Bowl is, I believe last year's game had higher ratings than Game 1 of the 2012 World Series. Wow, that's just sad.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 04:25 PM) Dude just deflected a ton of media attention from a 2nd year, young QB. Seems brilliant to me. It'd be a bit more brilliant if Peyton Manning was his QB, but I don't know if the story line for the SB would have centered around Wilson had Sherman not done what he did. It would have been about whether or not Peyton can win another ring with another team.
  3. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 04:25 PM) If you are going to be subjective. But if objectively we quantify intelligence by IQ, then it has nothing to do with success. If you want to go even farther than that Mr. lawyer, we can talk about how IQ isn't a 100% objective way to define intelligence.
  4. So are some of you seriously thinking that people are making a big deal out of this Sherman thing just because he's black? I know the extremely racist people of this country may think that way, but I'd like to think they're not the majority. If Sherman was white, Asian, Hispanic, native American, whatever race you want to come up with and acted the way he did after the play, during the interview, and after the game, I would think of him in the same way as an arrogant ass with no sportsmanship.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 04:18 PM) But it also doesnt mean that hes smarter than someone at a community college who just never tried and let their brilliance go to waste. Meh, part of being smart is to not let your brilliance (whatever it may be) go to waste.
  6. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 02:44 PM) Call me crazy, but grades don't mean everything. You can be socially inept and come off like a gigantic idiot, even if you are really good at retaining information from your Anthropology classes. I know plenty of people who got terrible grades, but are actually really smart. And people who aren't every smart that got great grades. It's more about effort than intelligence. So yes, in the times I have seen Sherman on TV, my impression of him is that he is a big f***ing idiot who can't control his emotions and looks clinically insane. Depends on what you're studying. You can get away with just trying hard in a lot of fields. However, you can't tell me that a theoretical physicist from MIT is where he is just because he tried hard. It's a combination of effort and intelligence.
  7. Just think, if you eliminate the extra point, how can Tony Romo botch a snap on the PAT to lose his team the game?
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 10:40 PM) Yeah. Too bad he doesn't hang out on message boards making fun of athletes. He's such a failure in life. I'm pretty sure Richard Sherman's a smart guy, but a 3.7 GPA in communications isn't proof he is.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 09:34 PM) Moose Bassitt ‏@Moose_419 24m If anyone was wondering, Richard Sherman graduated with a 3.7 GPA from Stanford University in Communication Ha, that's not much of an accomplishment.
  10. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 09:11 PM) CRABTREEEEEEEE ARRRGGGGH! =) The tone in which she said that was hilarious. It sounded like she was scared as s***.
  11. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 09:01 PM) That s*** was still funny though. Erin Andrews face was priceless. "Who was talking about you?"
  12. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 08:57 PM) I heard Sherman was actually a pretty smart guy, it's sad that he decides to be all hood like that. He went to Stanford and apparently had good grades (you kind of need to to get into Stanford, even as a football player). I'm pretty sure it's all a persona to intimidate his opponents, but it's just f***ing annoying.
  13. lmao Richard Sherman, you won, now stop talking s***.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 08:51 PM) Stfu sherman He's such a douche.
  15. WTF was Kaepernick doing on that throw?
  16. Seahawks get stuffed on 4th and goal. I'm glad the Seahawks won't win this game because of how blind the referees are.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 19, 2014 -> 08:23 PM) Wow. 49ers just got absolutely screwes. And Bowman broke his leg on the play. That's a torn ACL.
  18. The NFL's review rules are f***ing stupid. How is that not reviewable?
  19. You should change the title. They're going to allow a challenge system starting next year, along with umpire-decided reviews after the 7th inning. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseba...for-2014-season What's managers can challenge:
  20. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 16, 2014 -> 09:38 AM) Just unlocked, rooted, and flashed a ROM on my One earlier this week. I feel all grown up now. I agree that there are not a lot of beginner's resources and you'll have to get a minimum of adequacy with command prompt unless a kind developer has created a tool for your device Once you do it once, it becomes pretty easy.
  21. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 16, 2014 -> 09:35 AM) I'm too worried about doing it incorrectly and jacking up my phone to ever root it though. Always considered, never had the guts to try it. Looks pretty simple to me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...79#post45692679 Rooting usually won't cause anything to go wrong (it's hard to brick an Android device).
  22. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 16, 2014 -> 10:13 AM) To try and make this as short as possible, bWAR tells more about past performance, but fWAR tells more about future performances. It's more of a true talent indicator. Like for pitching, fWAR uses Fielding Independent Pitching numbers to figure in the calculation, whereas bWAR uses runs, and team wins. You get more outliers it seems with bWAR than fWAR. I think the large majority of the Sabr community would say that fWAR is the better number to use overall. bWAR uses team wins? What do you exactly mean by that?
  23. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 16, 2014 -> 02:54 AM) Just now finding out what NFC tags are and am really interested in splitting a pack of them with my brother. If these things were able to be used with the screen off, and had like a 3 foot range instead of a 3 inch range, they would be immensely useful. Instead I'll use a couple and see how they do. Root, install Xposed Framework, and install NFC Screen Off Enabler (I think that's the name). You can have certain tags unlock your screen. NFC will only work within about an inch proximity. NFC is extremely useful in the car. Right now, I have it enabling bluetooth and unlocking my phone. Then when it connects to my car's bluetooth, it enables GPS, starts my music app, starts music playback, and opens up a car portal app so I can choose what Map app to open. I just put my phone on my dock and it does this all by itself. No more messing with my phone for a minute before starting my drive.
  24. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 15, 2014 -> 12:08 PM) When kids tried to emulate MJ or Kobe, it meant taking fadeaways or tough shots, with Iverson it was a killer crossover. LeBron inspires them to flop If it was 2-3 years ago, missing clutch shots would have been another way of #lebroning.
  25. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 15, 2014 -> 09:28 AM) Feels like shots fired... http://deadspin.com/sometimes-lebron-wishe...dium=socialflow "I get jealous sometimes when I look over at KD and he's like 16-for-32 (from the field) and then 14-for-34. ... Man," James told ESPN.com's Tom Haberstroh. "But there are games where I have it going, and then at the end of the game, I'm like, damn, I shot just 12-for-16? Why don't I get up at least six or seven more? I definitely notice it." And yeah, LeBron is the s*** and way better than anyone else in basketball right now. Anyone who argues is just silly. I do like that he threw that 14/34 in there, though. Durant's shooting 49% on the season, there's not too many 14/34's going on! Nobody should wish to shoot the ball 35 times a game like Durant has to right now.
