Twins @ Sox, 7/8/11, 7:10, WCIU
Not turning that DP did screw us over.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 08:28 PM) Well, that's one way to take the bat out of Mauer's hands. Don't mind it. Yet. I'd rather have our pitchers make it hurt instead of hitting them in the foot.

Not turning that double play is going to kill us.

Alexi Casilla...Matt Tolbert. I hate the Twins so much.

Looks like the first inning was an outlier.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 05:02 PM) Jeter pulls himself from All-Star game I wonder if Alexei will take his place. Maybe Peralta?

It's rally time, unfortunately.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) I hate to be Debbie Downer...but how many times has everybody seen this team have a big 1st inning and crap down their pant legs the rest of the game. I remember when the Sox had a 6-1 lead in the last game of the season against the Twins in 2008. Floyd ended up giving away a run here and a run there and well...you know how that ended.

When was the last time the Sox batted around?

It's so awesome to see this team score some runs.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) Quentin and Alexei absolutely own Blackburn. He's a high fastball pitcher...without the dominating velocity to pitch up there. You need to lay off those pitches and force him to come into the strike zone. Nice to see Alexei back in the 2 hole again (finally). Blackburn's a sinkerballer. You're thinking of Scott Baker.

QUOTE (OilCan @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) Note to OZ....keep the Cuban Missile in the 2 spot. That is all. Agreed. Alexei started hitting like crap once he started to get moved around to the 5th and 6th spots.

Blackburn's just terrible today.

I should rant more.

This s*** is getting so old. If the Sox get swept, there needs to be some damn changes made. Just for that, I seriously wouldn't mind them laying down and getting schooled like they usually do.

Textbook Twins baseball right there.

QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 06:12 PM) Then root for the twinks. Sorry, but I'm tired of the negativity and the fact that most people on here behave (pack it in) exactly as the Sox do when the Twins come to town. Buck up. Have some confidence. And for Christ sakes quit acting like the Twins are the almighty. They have our number and have had for awhile. It stops tonight! Been there done that. And they still can't beat them.

I have absolutely zero confidence in the Sox winning this series.

Sox scouting Brandon Beachy
I wouldn't even think about Beachy for Quentin. Where the hell do I sign?

Sox/Royals 7/4 - Sox gain independence from being under .500
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) I would not bunt here, Ozzie. See if your hitters can actually hit Francis Bavier. Quentin can't bunt.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) Who cares? Really you guys try to defend some players and trash others, again rios is sucking big time I have no problem saying it, but I don't pick and choose with stupid past stats Rios is hitting .220. Ramirez is hitting .275. One's worth trashing, the other's acceptable.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 07:33 PM) Francouer woulda been a way better addition than Dunn for 1/15th the cost. Francouer's a stubborn douche who will never be a great player until he listens to the criticism people hand out to him. He's not really good at anything, but has the talent to be a very very good hitter. I think when he looks back on his career 15-20 years from now, he'll regret that he didn't listen to the people who told him to take more pitches and be more patient. Everything you say about Dunn is pretty much hindsight. Because nobody really complained about signing him. And the people that did complain never saw this coming either.
