  1. Our bullpen's been fairly bad for the past 3 series. It's mostly the secondary guys' fault, but it's not like the primary ones have been exceptional.
  2. QUOTE (black jack @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:17 PM) Not sure why Paulie wasn't sliding there. Someone remind me, who did they trade Harrell for? Nobody. Astros got him off waivers.
  3. At least Adam Dunn's hitting homers again.
  4. This is flat out embarrassing. One of the worst innings of the year.
  5. Jones should have had Altuve on two really nice pitches at 99 on the outside corner. Ump decided not to call them.
  6. What kind of a throw was that? Good throw gets him.
  7. I remember when Floyd walked Schafer in the first game...only to give up a HR to Lowrie. Please don't let history repeat.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) 461 feet. And believable. Maxwell has some serious power. He hit one at 470 in Coors (I know it's Coors, but still...). Looks like both Humber and Floyd have issues pitching out of the stretch.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) Humber and Gavin with shockingly similar starts Lots of strike outs, home runs on high fastballs.
  10. I never even saw that ball on the MLB.tv feed.
  11. So yeah, Humber's start is looking a lot like Floyd's now.
  12. Justin Maxwell's stance/swing looks a lot like Adam Jones'.
  13. Humber got his curve turned around there. Perhaps he should have gone with something up and in there.
  14. Good job by Alexei.
  15. The multi-view curse strikes again.
  16. Alex's offensive production is pretty much on par with what he did in 2010. If he keeps this up over the course of the year, we're in great shape.
  17. Humber's start is looking a lot like Floyd's. Hopefully, he doesn't give up another 2 runs.
  18. Konerko's had very little power since he sat out with the bad wrist.
  19. Nice inning for Humber.
  20. I'd wait a turn through the lineup before we worry about Harrell pitching a shutout. Sox hitters have had to adjust a bit to these NL pitches they've never seen before.
  21. Game is looking bad already...sigh.
  22. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 01:23 PM) Harrell sucks, but his stuff has improved since he left Chicago/Charlotte That it has. He's pumping fastballs up there in the mid-90s, he never really did that when he was in Chicago.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 12:36 PM) They opened the gates early enough to see BP? It was probably Astros BP.
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 12:22 AM) Upper deck behind the plate are really great seats, as long as it's not cold and windy...or too sunny hot and you're not protected by the roof or overhang. It's the same slant (I think the architectural term is "rake") as Royals Stadium/Kauffman. Now down the lines and at the corners, those seats suck...but still better than many seats in the old stadium, and nothing compared to the obstructed view ones behind the support beams. Yeah, the ones behind home plate aren't bad. I got 3 for $50, which is a pretty decent deal. We sat in row 13 behind the plate and the view was a lot better than I expected. I remember sitting there back in 03 and remembering how high it was. It didn't seem as high this time. You don't get a great idea of the strike zone nor can you judge fly balls all that well (must watch the fielders basically), but it's a gem for the price. I plan on getting those seats again sometime in early July. They offer half-priced or reduced priced tickets on almost every game through some promo codes.
