  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 12:49 PM) Brian Wilson pulled a muscle in his beard ribcage, may miss opening day. Something's wrong with Cueto. Derek Lee made his preseason debut. I guess that's karma for kicking Jason LaRue in the head.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 11:29 AM) Humber and Milledge are both garbage to this point; it's what they've proven to be. At least the positions they are fighting for don't matter too much overall. No big deal if these chewed-up scraps make the team. Or Lillibridge for that matter- it's all the same big can a garbage with different levels of optimism poured on top. At least Milledge has talent. Lastings just never got it together. Humber's not all that talented. He's like a better version of Lance Broadway. High pick and overrated by the team that drafted him.
  3. It's absolutely amazing how everything has developed with this Bulls team as the season progresses. Rose's defense is now pretty damn good. He's shutting down CP3 and Deron Williams like they're Carlos Arroyo-type point guards. After playing pretty meh for the majority of the second half, D-Rose has turned it up in the last three games. Luol Deng has turned into one of the better SFs in the league. Remember when everyone thought his contract was terrible and hated him? Well, now just about everyone loves him, his biggest fan might be Thibs and for good reason, Deng's an elite defender. Noah and Boozer hasn't worked out as well as everybody thought, but they've played, what, 20 games together? I don't remember things working out this well for any Chicago team since the 05 Sox and maybe the 06 Bears. But this Bulls team has a chance to accomplish something really special.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) small edit He only played three quarters.
  5. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Mar 22, 2011 -> 08:31 PM) i still wish we would have kept kirk as our 2 guard rather than have bogans Too late now. Stupid LeBron.
  6. Derrick Rose took Kirk Hinrich to school that quarter.
  7. 50 before 20. Gotta get that first seed. Hopefully, the regulars can play with more energy tomorrow in Atlanta since all of them only played 25 minutes.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 05:52 PM) That was in like 20 innings, though. Humber over the course of 150 innings or so? I'll take suicide over that. Who says he'll pitch 150 innings? I don't think I'd want him to pitch more than 50 and I hope we don't need him for more than 50.
  9. Speaking of Freddy...it doesn't look like he'll make the Yankees. http://www.realgmbaseball.com/src_wiretap_...o_make_yankees/
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) Not you, too! I'm not coming anywhere near this place in games that Humber starts. Heed my warning: it won't be a pretty site. He got DFA'd twice in like 20 minutes. When the Royals release you, that's all that needs to be said. He wasn't even that bad with the Royals. Besides, Dayton Moore isn't the best at major league talent evaluation. He has enough talent to be a serviceable fifth starter. He has a mediocre fastball and a decent change-up. Adding a cutter can't hurt either. I wouldn't be all that surprised if he puts up Freddy Garcia numbers.
  11. So since Peavy might not be ready break camp with the team, I decided to take a better look at Humber. There's definitely room to be a bit optimistic about the guy. He was absolutely horrible with the Twins, but his work in limited time last year with the Royals wasn't that bad (4.15 ERA, 3.31 FIP, 4.35 xFIP). For one, his fastball velocity went up about 1 MPH and proved to be much more effective than it was before when it was sitting around 90-91. He also threw the fastball less and relied more on his change-up and curveball, both of which had positive pitch values. With him learning a cutter, he could be an okay option for the 5th starter. All we really need him to do is keep us in games and I think he should be capable of doing that. Marcel projects him for a 4.38 ERA and a 4.11 FIP in limited work, how certain Marcel is of those numbers is something I don't have access to.
  12. Heyman just tweeted scouts are impressed with Humber's new cutter. Philip Humber: Esteban Loaiza 2011 edition...xD
  13. It's a good thing Jake spoke up about this. Perhaps he shouldn't have started yesterday. He might have over-exerted himself since he hadn't thrown on the side all week.
  14. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 11:14 PM) Out There: Carlos Quentin is traded for Jose Contreras at the trade deadline. Wouldn't that be weird...
  15. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Mar 14, 2011 -> 01:40 PM) homefront has dedicated servers??? hmm.. im okay with this.. i might just pick this up at midnight to get some practice time on t r u.. by the looks of players on justin.tv there are already guys that know the maps inside and out... I finally found out what your avatar is about today. LOL
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 01:53 PM) Trust me, there are things I don't like about players on all of my favorite teams. I still think Derrick Rose is a Dbag for having his brother take his SATs. I wonder if he even had a decision in that. Reggie Rose seems to just do whatever he thinks is best for Derrick.
  17. They sure took a hell of a long time thinking all of this out...
  18. QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 16, 2011 -> 02:17 AM) and pressing a button to field isn't dumb? I like the button setup a lot better. It's been that way in every baseball game I've ever played, so the stick fielding is something I had to get used to. I switched back to buttons yesterday. Feels much better.
  19. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Mar 14, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) oh i just saw the homefront video on Xbox live.. looks like the best thing about the video was Jessica Chabot, we all know in video games that grafix = everything.. therefore i give this game a 2.5/10, looks like well have to wait until battlefield 3 comes out Jessica Chobot...*drools
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 16, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) There's more fluff in this garbage of an article than a Scott Merkin piece. The Sox don't need offense from their 3B? The Sox are loaded with young talent? Stefan Gartrell is a stud in the making? So sad. Will Ohman as possible closer?
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2011 -> 07:12 AM) Because they suck... Just like every other non-Chicago team in the Central. They did rout the Sixers the day before.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 14, 2011 -> 10:59 PM) Is that the fat dude from Drake and Josh? I don't think he's that fat anymore.
  23. Boston's really slumping. Stupid Milwaukee...why did you have to lose to them by 30?
  24. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 11, 2011 -> 08:41 PM) So far, it's been a three horse race with three dead horses. Reminds me of the DH situation last year.
