  1. I'm seriously tired of all these crazy lineup antics. If our offense blows hard, I'm saying it's Ozzie's fault for batting Mark Kotsay third and DHing Omar Vizquel. Even when that might not be the complete downfall of the offense.
  2. I looked up Kotsay's numbers as a #3 hitter. .284/.324/.403/.727 in 264 games. And I think most of that was earlier in his career, when he was actually a decent player.
  3. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 12:27 AM) Any lineup that has Kotsay hitting 3rd and Quentin not hitting 3rd is flawed. This has more to due with what side of the plate Kotsay bats with, and Ozzies obsession with LRLRLRLR lineups. The idea that Ozzie thinking about trotting out Vizquel against lefties as the primary leadoff hitter is also all sorts of awesome. That sexy .305 OBP against lefties over the last few years should make the Erstad leadoff fiasco look like a juggernaut of offense. Its almost like he picks this crap randomly out of a hat or something. If this was really the case, then why the hell doesn't he hit Teahen third? Plus, does Ozzie know that Quentin absolutely destroys right handed pitching? For the most part, Q's struggles last year were against left handed pitchers, where he only hit .213 with a .383 SLG. Against right handers, he hit a bit better and his SLG was near .500. In the year before, it didn't even matter, but Q was still stronger against righties. Seriously, somebody get Ozzie some splits.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 10:29 PM) At some point kenny is responsible for the manager. He either has to get him the type of players he wants, or he gets a manager to play the players that Kenny wants played. If this doesn't work out (and it won't), Kenny needs to step in and just tell Ozzie to stop playing favorites.
  5. Kenny should just get bench players Ozzie doesn't like so he plays them appropriately.
  6. We should all bombard Ozzie's Twitter and Facebook with messages saying WTF. I already have.
  7. Damn you Brian Anderson, DAMN YOU! Even when you're not on this team, the by product of you is screwing us over. WHY OH WHY?
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405...ttoWhatsNewsTop Hmm. Thoughts? I dunno that this'll fly. Who wants to wear those glasses while they play? Maybe a console/pc game, but I dunno about a small handheld. Have fun playing that walking down a sidewalk. That would be weird. Plus, if it's still going to be the same technology (as in crappy excuse for 3D graphics), I don't see much of a point.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) That always makes me smile. Especially reading about all of the guys he suggested we get, who have faded into as much obscurity as he has. Shea Hillenbrand FTW, xD.
  10. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 03:55 PM) AJ as Dwight. Beckham as Ryan. I think the most important question would be who would be Creed? Joe Crede?
  11. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Mar 22, 2010 -> 02:23 PM) Probably nothing too suprising here but this is what I am told the lineup would look like if opening day were today: Pierre - LF Beckham - 2b Quentin - RF Konerko - 1b Rios - CF AJ - C Jones - DH Teahan - 3b Ramirez - SS This is the lineup I've been using in my video games.
  12. This thread is like 3 years too late.
  13. For the few of us who have MLB 2K10... Here's a spreadsheet of all the correct batting stances/windups in the game made by yours truly. Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/365694799/Stan...Spreadsheet.xls
  14. Bailey actually looked really good at the end of the season. In hindsight, this would have been a good trade to make.
  15. I think clutchness should be about how much WPA (win probability added) you add for your team. The more of that you have, the more it means that you got big hits and drove in big runs when it really mattered late in games. It could also mean that you just gave your team huge leads before that. Either way, you're doing your job.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) Cliff Lee suspended for first 5 games of the season for throwing over Chris Snyder's head. What the... So he misses one start, eh.
  17. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 02:41 PM) In a perfect world i'd do Rios Beckham Q Konerko Jones Teahen Ramirez A.J Pierre Not going to happen. So, i figure AJ hitting 5th is better then 2nd. The problem with this is that Rios' OBP won't be that much higher than Pierre's. Both are similar in terms of speed (considering that Pierre will get CS more). You'd be wasting Rios' .450 SLG in the leadoff spot when we need that in the 5th or 6th hole.
  18. I'd like neither.
  19. Why is it that Peavy is getting into all these situations where he can get hurt? First a liner hit at him and now a car crash. What's next?
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) Compared to him they are really young! So is Omar Vizquel.
  21. You gotta wonder if Ron was actually a real hobo at one point in time. He sure looks like one.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 17, 2010 -> 12:37 PM) In the paper today, the Cubs are going to run run and more run to create runs. With who Lou? Half your team cant run and the other half is injured. FanGraphs speed index of Cubs lineup 1. Fukudome - 4.4 2. Theirot - 5.5 3. Lee - 3.5 4. Ramirez - 3 5. Byrd - 4.3 6. Soriano - 4.7 7. Soto - 2 8. Fontenot - 4 ML average speed is 4.2. They have 4 above average runners and all the rest are below average. I don't know where this illusion of speed came from. xD
  23. I never knew Jermaine took so much pride in his defensive abilities, or his baseball abilities in general. He must still think he's 27 or something.
  24. As usual, Pods looks like crap trying to get to De Aza's fly ball. A good CF catches that ball.
  25. Probably Pierre for most people. For me, probably Kotsay.
