  1. Yoan already getting tested on the first pitch. Nice play.
  2. I guess it's not a coincidence the Sox hit well during those 2 home games with a bunch of rain.
  3. That was also his 2nd start of the year. All you need to know is that he had a 7.39 ERA in 87.2 innings after the perfect game. I don't think throwing 96 pitches that game ruined his arm or anything though.
  4. The balls are part of it, the mean drag coefficient on the balls are about .1 higher meaning they go about 5 feet shorter on average than the balls last year. And about 10 feet shorter than the juiced balls the league was using from 2017-2019. Weather also plays a part. The Sox have basically been stuck playing in below 50 degree weather all year. Some games with heavy winds blowing straight in. 20 degrees change in temperature usually brings about 5 more feet of carry on a fly ball. Warmer weather should help the Sox out a bit.
  5. No, that would be Rafael Devers with 22. And just about every good 3B in baseball had a similar amount of errors. Moncada had 16, Ramirez had 15, Donaldson had 13, Machado had 13, and even Arenado had 11. It's almost like errors aren't the best way to judge a player's defensive ability.
  6. Burger barely played a passable 3B in the first month. I give him like a 0% ability to play 2B in the Majors.
  7. The one time someone swung on 3-0 was Gavin Sheets and I think he popped out lol
  8. Pagan is pretty much just like Colome, except he's getting very fortunate he's been able to pitch out of jams. Pagan gets into trouble almost every game he pitches. Colome would at least have good outings about 60% of the time.
  9. Pache's hit had a .690 xBA. I think had Polanco not shifted towards the middle, it's probably a hit. I will say that Twins 9th innings when Pagan pitches is must watch baseball, it just sucks cause he keeps getting bailed out.
  10. I thought Pache was gonna muscle that one to the OF, but not enough.
  11. This will move Pollock down to 6th, where his struggles might not hurt as much. I think this is the best lineup moving forward 1. SS Anderson 2. 3B Moncada (S) 3. 1B Abreu 4. CF Robert 5. C Grandal (S) 6. LF Pollock 7. DH Sheets (L) 8. RF Engel 9. 2B Garcia (S)
  12. Hey, they didn't actually need him.
  13. It's his knee.
  14. Paddack just got taken out of the game with an injury.
  15. He looks like Jose when we got bounced from the playoffs
  16. I don't really like it. You're throwing a rookie into the fire to get a save when Ruiz has demonstrated he can get lefties out. Now Cora has put in Plawecki so you lose the platoon advantage.
  17. Yup, need to score at least 4 runs when the other team has a bullpen day.
  18. Dalbec started, JBJ subbed for him. So he has to hit here. Plawecki is the only other option.
  19. Tony, Ruiz is good against lefties. I'm not sure I like this.
  20. JBJ has been a thorn all series.
  21. Way to cut away from the pitch broadcast...I had no idea what happened.
  22. Ruiz has lost a couple of ticks off the fastball. It's super hittable. His change up is the reason why he's been better this year.
  23. He absolutely grooved one right down the pipe to Martinez.
