  1. Damn it...please be ok Luis.
  2. Yaz out on 3 pitches is rare
  3. One did a Sox game earlier and the other one is AJ. This is about as White Sox centric as you can get for a national broadcast.
  4. Boring and corporate? lol
  5. That'll work. Only 10 pitches.
  6. Made him throw almost 20 pitches. Not the worst start against a guy who we typically struggle against. That slider is nasty.
  7. If Abreu can't go Sheets is definitely playing 1B. No way they play Vaughn against McCullers IMO. Leury will probably play LF and Eloy will DH if Jose can't go.
  8. I wonder if the possibility of a tandem start makes Kopech's availability a bit more limited.
  9. I never really thought of him as a benefactor of sticky stuff since his spin rates were never good. He could have been one of those guys who used it to get finer control. His spin rates did decrease by about 40-50 RPM right around the time of enforcement and it's gone back up slowly over the past few months. But the results have gotten worse as time went on. Hopefully he tries some new stuff to figure it out over the winter, because I don't think it's because of an injury.
  10. They used all their devil magic during the winning streak.
  11. Yup he's awful. McFarland walking Bellinger allowed it to happen.
  12. Not as bad as Cole was last night or anything, but the big name starters haven't delivered so far.
  13. Well at least you'll have somebody to blame if it happens.
  14. Wasn't that this year?
  15. FanGraphs playoff series odds are up. Sox-Astros is by far the closest one with the Astros edging us out 50.1 to 49.9. Yes, it's that close. https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds/post-season-zips?&series=ALDS2 They have Keuchel starting game 4, which is wrong, so if they actually correct that we may actually be favored in their projections. Giolito starting game 2 actually makes us favorites on the road 52-48.
  16. It really is a miracle how that team ended up winning 90 games. Their lack of hitting really screwed them in that last series with the Angels. They could have won that first game had they just hit some sac flies.
  17. The contents of this post are meaningless and is just superstitious bullshit, but... Lance Lynn during Fox broadcasts this year: 15 IP, 19 H, 16 ER, 19 SO, 3 BB, 4 HR, 9.60 ERA, 1.46 WHIP Lance Lynn during Fox broadcasts with AJ Pierzynski in the booth: 10 IP, 12 ER, 10.80 ERA.
  18. If Lynn can look like he did against the Red Sox in his first start back from the IL, I think we'll be fine. If his knee is still bothering him and messing with his command, we may be in for a long game 1.
  19. I was wondering what Bill Belichick had to do with this.
  20. This is true. If they're thinking about Lynn for game 4, I get it. Although Carlos has to be topping out at 90 MPH for that to happen IMO. Carlos' last real good start where he flashed good velo was against Boston. I think when push comes to shove, he'll still be able to get it up there. But I doubt he can go any longer than 4 or 5 innings. Also, Lance's numbers against Houston are a legit concern the past 2 seasons. 2019 - 28 IP, 3.54 ERA, 8 HR, 6 BB, 39 SO 2020 - 11.2 IP, 11.57 ERA, 5 HR, 4 BB, 12 SO 2021 - 4 IP, 13.5 ERA, 0 HR, 1BB, 6 SO I will say that the start this year was right before the sticky ban and it was pretty clear that Lance was pitching without pine tar/spider tack for the first time in a while that start. He struggled massively with location and got tagged by Robel Garcia with the bases loaded.
  21. Not sure I like Lynn possibly going twice this series, both in Houston, where he has historically struggled. Lucas' numbers against Houston since 2019 are amazing. I know Lynn has way more playoff experience, but his numbers in the postseason aren't that good.
  22. Abreu did sit out with some sort of non COVID illness on the last day. I doubt they'd leave him off the roster for that though.
  23. Cole looking more like Dylan Cease tonight than Gerrit Cole.
  24. Bogaerts had been hitting like crap too. Cole just hasn't been dominant since the hamstring injury.
  25. Bogaerts takes Cole deep.
