  1. We actually hit sinkers well (2nd best in baseball), but it feels like we consistently just ground out to the left side against sinker-ballers recently.
  2. Mondesi almost threw that into center field.
  3. We went from being fairly consistent without much power to having a ton of power but almost having no consistency.
  4. They can probably go with the excuse that he hadn't thrown this many innings in 3 years, but the fact that we're giving him 10 days off between starts just for him to throw 95 and then feel sore for a whole week after is not encouraging.
  5. Hopefully he can pitch against Boston next weekend, but he's not feeling it right now and that the Sox are concerned. Same issue as before (shoulder fatigue and soreness).
  6. Yeah, you can kiss home field in the ALDS goodbye.
  7. Defense really fucked him this inning. This is usually when he unravels in his bad starts.
  8. I wonder if Yoan knew Perez was running on the grounder. He had a shot at getting 2. Instead we got no outs and gave up a run.
  9. He totally kicked that on purpose lol
  10. Sheets 100% has to catch that.
  11. Ummm...are you allowed to kick the ball?
  12. Perez vs. Sox: .309/.324/.647 Perez vs. Indians: .159/.245/.364 The pitches we throw him are pretty similar to how the Indians pitch him. Around 36-38% fastballs (let's not pretend the Indians don't throw him any fastballs). But here's the difference (first is Indians, 2nd is Sox) We throw him a lot more pitches near the outside black as opposed to off the plate and low. His hot/cold zones vs. the Sox is all red whereas he only has 2 hot zones vs. the Indians. It's all about execution.
  13. I think the Perez homer woke Dylan up
  14. Awful base running from Eloy
  15. Perez thrives on hitting bad pitches. Yet we keep trying to pitch around him with pitches that are too close to the plate. Those are basically strikes to Perez.
  16. You can argue none of the pitches he hit homers on were actually bad pitches. None of them were middle/middle pitches. 2 were pretty much on the black. Lopez's slider yesterday hung a little, but was out of the zone.
  17. Of course the Royals don't even hit a ball out of the infield after Perez's homer.
  18. Yeah that's not even a bad pitch. How the hell does he keep doing this?
  19. Holy shit he murdered that
  20. Cease has no fastball command right now.
  21. Singer looking way better after spending a month on the IL.
  22. Well that's not good... His shoulder doesn't seem to be holding up.
  23. Cause his velocity was down by quite a bit and he was giving up line drives right at people. He was probably on a pitch count too given he hasn't thrown more than 80 pitches in any outing this year in the Majors.
  24. Holy shit that ball was killed. Nice win, even though it probably shouldn't have that close.
  25. Wow Bummer got through an 8th inning drama free.
