Joc Pederson: How long will he be a future White Sox?
The numbers (aside from 2020 regular season) tell me that Joc will be a fine platoon player for us. But I'll always be reminded of our track record with signing left handed power guys who don't hit for average and strike out a lot (Dunn, Alonso, etc).

Sox acquire Lance Lynn for Dane Dunning and Avery Weems
I honestly would have preferred Musgrove over Lynn for a cheaper price. You get 2 years of control, he's much younger and can still improve, and he's been quietly very good for the past few years.

The Astros had his number. 16 of his 31 ER last season came against Houston in just 2 starts. 5 of his 13 HRs allowed also came against Houston. I wouldn't be too worried about his ability to pitch for the next year.

I'm confused. Didn't they already do a hand recount?

2020 Election Thoughts
He's clearly worried about what may happen to him after he's out of office. Otherwise, he wouldn't be doing all this shit.

Offseason Targets
IDK about Cy Young contention, but he's been quietly good for a few years now. His K/9 numbers last year were insane in his 8 starts. He's also arb 2 already in 2021, so he shouldn't come at a huge price.

MLB 2020-21 off season catch all
The Indians are really good at giving up broken goods right before they break. Kluber last off-season and now Clevinger. Although you can argue the Rangers knew that Kluber carried a decent amount of risk given his injury history.

2020 Election Thoughts
Maricopa county just dropped their last big batch of ballots and Trump won 55% of them. He needed to win around 70% to come back. With 22,000 ballots remaining, he needs 76% of it to win Arizona. Looking like Biden will hang on there. Arizona also has no recount unless it's within 0.1%. Decision Desk HQ just called AZ for Biden.

2020 Election Thoughts
A recent batch of 5000 was 50/49 for Biden. Now Trump needs almost 70% of the remaining 35,000 ballots.

2020 Election Thoughts
Yeah it's pretty fucked up. The margins Biden will win by in WI, PA, MI will total less than 250k. A quarter million less votes and he loses, even though he will have 7 million more votes.

2020 Election Thoughts
Silver projects Biden will win by 4.3 points when all the votes are counted. So the national polls were 4 points off. Even more than in 2016. If the turnout is actually 160 million, Biden is set to win the popular vote 82 million to 75 million. A 7 million vote win in the popular vote is very significant.

2020 Election Thoughts
I think the goal for Biden and the democrats is to make sure McConnell can't block everything under the sun that Biden tries to do like he did Obama after 2010.

2020 Election Thoughts
Finally! Biden needs to run up the score and make this a landslide. It's much harder for Republicans to argue fraud when you have to do it in 4-5 states and you lose the electoral college by 80 votes. As ridiculous as that all sounds, I'm afraid this is how politics are under Trump. Also, how Biden's presidency will turn out hinges on the 2 special elections in Georgia.

2020 Election Thoughts
Election night was terrible for Biden. I knew that mail-in votes would bring him closer in PA, MI, and WI, but some of those were big leads, especially PA.

2020 Election Thoughts
It's crazy how one guy basically decided the primary. As a Bernie supporter, I was pretty salty. Without that huge win in SC (Bernie was polling within 10 points before Clyburn's endorsement and he lost by 50 points), Biden doesn't get the moderates to consolidate behind him before Super Tuesday.

2020 Election Thoughts
You'd think so, but Trump is outperforming the 2018 midterm results by quite a bit. It could be because he's Trump and some groups of people just like him. I think COVID changed the minds of a lot of left leaning independents, but not a lot of right leaning ones. But we know that COVID absolutely riled up his base. You can argue that COVID also riled up the democrats as well. It could have very well been a wash in the end with a slight advantage to Biden. Exit polling showed that people thought the economy was the biggest factor for them 33%. Only 20% said COVID.

2020 Election Thoughts
Around 25K votes left to count. Biden needs 57% of those.
