Edwin should have gotten tossed.

You can't teach velocity. But somebody's gotta teach him control and a sinker.

It looked like the umpire was actually going to ring Grandal until that ball popped away.

It's weird cause they didn't really even celebrate getting the playoff berth. You'd think they knew of the higher goals and aspirations, but I guess not.

Whatever they did with Cease after the Minnesota start did not work. Let him go back to throwing out of the stretch. This is disgusting to watch right now.

Why would you even bother throwing Baez a fastball in the zone?

lol Cease can throw 102 and people will still hit his fastball.

Mitch Keller's left 2 straight starts with a no hitter. He somehow made it through 5 with 8 walks and no hits allowed against the Indians. Unfortunately, the last time this happened, the Cardinals came back from down 4 and won. This time the Indians are down 2-1 in the 6th.

Tim finally going oppo is encouraging. He was trying to pull everything in Cleveland.

Cease basically pitches himself into trouble. It's so fucking tiring.

Eloy might not be ready for first playoff series
So not only did we lose almost every game in the past week, we also managed to lose our 3rd best hitter. Whatever happened to preparing for the playoffs, staying healthy, and we don't care what seed we are? Just a fucking disaster.

What a fucking disaster this past week has been. I'm pretty sure he hurt it earlier in the Cleveland series and him playing the past few days just made it worse.

I just hope he's ready to play by Tuesday. It might not be a bad idea to DH Eloy and play Engel in LF for the playoffs.

Poor Jose won't see anything to hit tonight.

Fire Ricky
This really is the silver lining tonight. Rodon's velocity is super encouraging. It's too bad he threw like 2 off-speed pitches all night.
-
Fire Ricky
I'm not the biggest Ozzie fan, but he's far better than Renteria.
-
Fire Ricky
He was also facing a bunch of switch hitters. His slider is much better to lefties.
-
Fire Ricky
I bet it's because we had a 3 run lead.

Fire Ricky
I think we need to bring someone in who has experience and a history of getting teams to the next level. Ricky never had anywhere close to a winning season before this one.
-
Fire Ricky
You could argue he made the wrong call to the bullpen in all 4 games this series. And absolutely egregious ones in games 2 and 4 that 100% cost us the game.

Fire Ricky
When we sucked early in the season, I thought that underachieving this year would at least get rid of Ricky. Then we got hot, clinched a playoff spot, Ricky was possibly going to win manager of the year, and now a week later he has somehow managed the team so poorly that we might be able to get rid of him while still making the playoffs. That's my glass half full view of all of this. Here's to hoping JR actually gets rid of Ricky this off-season.

9/24: Pale Hose vs. They Should Be Called the Spiders (5:10 CT)
Can you really blame them? The manager did some stupid shit and cost them the lead they just got.
