  1. I don't want to overpay for Haren right now either, and I fear Laroche is just a Kotsay who's had more playing time. Give me big Adam.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 09:19 AM) Vanessa Hudgens has absolutely perfect legs... just sayin. This post is worthless without pictures, and not in keeping with the awesomeness that is this thread.
  3. For those of you with DirecTV, the MLB Extra Innings free preview continues through this weekend.
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 09:44 AM) That's always been one of my complaints about Konerko. He'll take that first pitch right down the middle, and it seems like he gets it all the time. One particularly famous exception doesn't override this general rule of course, but I couldn't help read this post, think of WSGame 2, and smile.
  5. Kenny's always liked him, so this rumor was inevitable. I'd rather have DLee. Time at DH would help his back, and over his carrer he's hit lefties well.

Did somebody say "cornhole?" This thread totally kicks ass.
  7. Joey Votto = Cub Hater http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_leagu...maining-content
  8. Anyone catch last night's Sunday Conversation? Rachel Nichols asked LBJ if he had talked to the Cavs before announcing The Decision. He said no, he hadn't spoken to them, but then he hadn't spoken to anyone about it. The whole process was really difficult for him, and he wanted Thursday "to be about me." You can't make this s*** up.
  9. Don't Stop (Believin'). Get it? Get it?
  10. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:25 PM) <!--quoteo(post=2204384:date=Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:24 PM:name=BigSqwert)-->QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) <!--quotec-->he is the ultimate douche reporter. Believe me, I'm no fan. But getting paid by your interview subject is such an obvious conflict that it takes his jaggery to another level.
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) Cavs just said they spent 0% of their time game planning for James leaving. 100% was devoted to keeping James. Translation: "We have no backup plan" Cavs = stupid (or liars). Don't you have to have a Plan B in EVERYTHING in life?
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) CNBC is reporting that LeBron's camp paid Jim Gray to do the interview, not ESPN. Maverick Carter = best business manager EVER. Reporter Jim Gray Paid By LeBron Entity, Not ESPN Wow. Jim Gray = Whore
  13. Admittedly, I follow the NBA the least of the 4 major sports. But it seems to me that no one can be sure how a "Big 3" dynamic will work, simply because its never been done before (at least to this degree). Those predicting guaranteed championships might be as far off as those dismissing them. That said, I do think NBA basketball still comes down to TEAM, which in turn comes down to having players that compliment each other. Usually that means two great players, and 3-4 good players; the guys filling out the roster need only be decent at one particular thing (rebounding, 3pt shooting, intensity), so long as they complement the rest of the other guys. Miami can probably fill out their roster with competent, and complementary one dimensional guys, but the key will come down to filling the spots of men 3 through 6 with solid guys who can mesh with the Big 3. I think that could very well take a few years. Call me crazy, but I think I don't think if a Lebron could have been added to the 95-96 Bulls, they necessarily win more than the 72, or that those titles would still be locks. The NBA certainly is different than other hoops, but its still a game where the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts.
  14. I luv good pitching! Let me think, when was the last time we beat the Angels four straight with pitching that good?
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:50 PM) I dunno. Maybe you're right. Nope. reel 2 (rl) v. reeled, reel·ing, reels v.intr. 1. To be thrown off balance or fall back: reeled from the sharp blow. 2. To stagger, lurch, or sway, as from drunkenness: reeled down the alley. 3. To go round and round in a whirling motion: gulls reeling and diving. 4. To feel dizzy: My head reeled with the facts and figures. v.tr. To cause to reel.
  16. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) do you trust danks or jenks more? JD
  17. Freddy Garcia is a helluva pitcher. I have great admiration for guys who can basically change their whole game and still rock.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) I just call him The Bridge. Has anyone see The Bridge? Where's that confounded Bridge?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 02:40 PM) I'd argue Gilbert Grape. And you'd be right. I had never heard of him when I first saw that movie. Until the Academy Awards that year, I seriously thought that he was actually retarded.
  20. Sunday night game. Texas. I fear the bad Buehrle. Hope I'm wrong.
